Try liproxenol. I've tried it and it helped so much in my weight loss. Didn't experience any side effects either.

Starting this new anti-inflammation med and I read it could cause weight gain and swelling.....anyone have this as a symptom? How well does it work? Have a lot of pain from herniated discs in my neck and back.

I had a knee replacement 5 weeks ago. I am getting around and doing the rehab very well. However, I still have a fair amount of pain and I am taking a nonnarcotic pain reliever and celebrex. At night, I go to sleep for an hour or two and then I wake up with knee pain and can't get comfortable or back to sleep. What can I do to stop this problem, my orthopedist is at a loss.

I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.

Dear Doctor. Some days after start using Celebrex I noted a loss of vision in the central area of the vision in one eye. I cant read a letter that I was looking at, but I can see the letters in both sides of the letter I was looking. If I look with that eye to a white wall I can see a yellow circle sorrounding another smaller white circle.

I do not know what my MRI results mean. Loss of disk height and disk desiccation with endplate irregularity. Modic type 1 endplate edema. Hi all, recently diagnosed with Achilles tenosynovitis, and treatment of celebrex is not doing the trick. Not using it normally but cannot rest 24/7. Was not given crutches, concerned my weight (I'm about 40 lbs overweight) is hindering my recovery. Still in pain, limping and have some swelling - all docs told me it should be normal in a few days with the celebrex. I'm traveling and cannot afford to be immobile.

Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.

I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.

My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!

Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.

my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!

I am a 43yo f, normal weight and BMI. I have a strong hx of heart disease in both parents (stenting, Afib and MI, strong sib hx of hypertension too). Was dx with post partum cardiomyopathy, then PE in Dec 2005/Jan 2006. I have HTN is well controlled. Asthma, an unconfirmed dx of inclusion body myositis or polymyositis (dx at the same time during hospitalizations), I was on steroid treatment, so did not do the muscle biopsy. All dx were backed up by clinical picture and bloodwork.

I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.

I have had a visual disturbance since going up on Neurotin and taking Celebrex. I have seen in the package insert of Neurontin that it can cause visual disturbances and rare retinal problems etc. I have also seen a New Zealand study recently that said some people get a visual disturbance from Celebrex. I am quitting both for that reason. Has anyone had visual problems from either drug?

t want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. I used to weigh over 450 pounds, had bypass surgery in 2003, and lost 200 of it, but my knees took a beating from the weight and I am always having issues with them,right now I am in so much pain- it really stinks.I just started a new joblast week, it seems the more active I am-the more it hurts and swells up. Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. The Enbrel worked quite well, but after 2 years I began getting some weird lab reports and while it was never conslusively connected to the Enbrel, I became wary of the biologics because I felt they just really didn't know enough about the long term effects, so I told my rheumo I was done.

Celebrex is COX-2 inhibitor type NSAID and it is linked to heart attack and stroke. If you have high blood pressure, this medicine may not be the right fit even if it is controlled by blood pressure medications. And over time, NSAIDs increase blood pressure so that is a long term side effect that should be considered.
