I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer. Tried the muscle relaxer the first night seemed to take a little of the night time pain away not much.
Avatar f tn Naproxen is just ibuprofen, which is Motrin and Aleve. I would think Celebrex would help a lot more than Naproxen. It can't hurt to ask for it. Naproxen didn't do anything for me, except hurt my stomach. The Celebrex helped a lot, right away.
5986700 tn?1380791380 Celebrex is a non steroidal anti inflammatory, much like motrin or advil, just stronger. It is non addictive and should help ease his back pain. The main risk is if the patient has heart disease it could lead to a heart attack.
Avatar f tn How long does it take for full effect and can you take Motrin or Tylenol with it. My doc says that I can take the Motrin in between the Celebrex wearing off and the Limbrel taking hold. I just hope that this is the answer to some of my pain. It is beginning to get in the way of my daily living and I am scared that if this gets worse, how will I function? I am 58 years old and have just started to babysit my first grandchild in Sept.
203342 tn?1328737207 Also since aspirin and motrin cause GI irritation and you have already have Crohn’s ,so it is best to avoid these medicines. You can however take acetaminophen or Tylenol. It is used to relieve pain and reduce fever. Acetaminophen is generally less irritating to the stomach than other OTC pain relievers. You can also take tramadol(ultram) ,but pls inform your doctor before taking them. Hope it helps .Take care and pls do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I just took my 2d shot friday and noticed taking an motrin 800 before my shot and every 6 hrs thereafter plus eating a small meal again b4 bedtime kept me from getting nauseaus and headachey for the next 2 days. Does anyone have their own remedy that helps them on shot day?
Avatar n tn It does get worst at night. The OS has told me to take motrin or celebrex. the meds help but i am concerned about continued use of these for over 30 days now. The pain now is thru neighboring teeth into my cheeks and it is sharp. Second the pain is thru the front of the jaw and teeth as well. The jaw area in the back in also a little tender still. Not sure what I should do next.
Avatar n tn ) I am still lethargic and achy after one week free and clear of hydrocodone and tramadol. One issue in particular is my hands ache and throb so badly (i take celebrex for arthritis) that just the mere act of typing on my computer is very painful. Please know how grateful I am for not only responses to my questions, but to all of you who are brave enough to spill your painful addiction stories to us so that we don't feel so alone with this.
968560 tn?1307451498 Ive tried steroid injections(some relief for a little while) 800mg motrin, celebrex.660mg celebrex, norco, tramadol. Avatar m tn Hi there! I'm a 28 year old male, and I have a question about NSAIDs for chronic pain. I use ibuprofen daily most of the time for a torn meniscus in my left knee that I had surgery on and I have arthritis too. I also take it for a herniated disc (L-5) and ankle pain. I have acid reflux disease and esophagus problems as well. Is it safe to take all this Ibuprofen with the stomach problems I have, or should I talk to my Dr. about possibly prescribing another medication?
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar n tn Once your inflammation dissipates and you stop taking Celebrex everything should return to normal, that is, if you didn't have high morning glucose levels previously. IMHO.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the advice. My orthopedist advised me to mobilize my left arm by slowly flexing and extending it to prevent stiffness. I don't have to apply ice anymore and the sling is for comfort only. Is it okay then not to use it all the time ? I felt heavy on this arm if I keep it as is without the sling. For inflammation, I'm taking Celebrex because I am allergic to all NSAIDS as Motrin, Alleve, Naprosyn, etc. although Celebrex is one of them but a Cox2 inhibitor.
Avatar n tn I decided to take it for 2 reasons- 1 want my pain to go away and why not at least try it and 2 maybe it will relieve some of my depression (for which I am seeing a counselor) and I guess 3 since my husband doesn't seem to want to really try as much as in the past to have children what can it hurt I thought. THank you for your comments.
Avatar m tn I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
Avatar n tn alternate between tyl and an NSAID take 2 tyl's two hours later take an NSAID it will help with the pain and the swelling what bone did you break... I have worked in hand therapy for 6 years as a therapist..
Avatar n tn My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in .. They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
548642 tn?1266179652 my gi didnt even know the dose to celebrex so i doubt he knows if its good to my liver! im telling yall hes stupid and i need to find a new dr asap!
Avatar f tn Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
Avatar dr m tn Jim my brother uses Celebrex and he has a lot of success with it. I myself took Vioxx for 4 year for fibromyalgia and had tremendous success until it was taken off the market. I can't take Celebrex because I think it has sulfa in it and I am allergic. It has been known to have serious side affects however again some people do very well on it. I wish I could try it. What is RZ Rhizotomy? I've had 7 back and cervical surgeries so I am well aware of what that pain is like.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar f tn t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
453731 tn?1225199508 You should not take acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, or NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) unless your doctor has told you to. NSAIDs include celecoxib (Celebrex), diclofenac (Voltaren), ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others. These medicines may affect blood clotting and could cause serious bleeding in your stomach or intestines. Avoid sudden changes in your diet. Vitamin K decreases the effects of Coumadin.
