Your doctor may have an explanation to account for your symptoms but, if not he/she may have to empirically prescribe another drug, one not in the category of bactrim and Cefdinir. It would also be reasonable for you to ask your doctor to contact the pharmaceutical manufacturers of these drugs to find out if reactions such as yours have been reported.
I've had a sore throat for about 3 weeks now. I originally went to the doctor with overall feeling of malaise, headache, fever, slight sore throat and abdominal pain. I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared.
2nd dr I went to tested me and I tested positive for yeast she gave me Nystatin for 10 days and patches are still there. 3rd dr after looking at my throat said I did not have oral thrush I have tried to scrape these patches off but they are adhered firmly to my mouth. The week before I had oral sex I had been to the dentist and was feeling bad so took amoxicillin then got to filling better and quit taking it. Also I started using a mouth wash which I have never used before.
as i said it is an antibiotic so would kill bacteria to some degree but if you tested negative at 6 weeks you dont have it
I've been fighting a battle of diarrhea for the past four days with no end in sight.
Yesterday I went to the hospital because I began to experience sever dehydration.
I was also worried because three weeks prior to experiencing this diarrhea I had laparoscopic surgery to repair a very large hiadial hernia.
Last night at the ER they could see no reason for my symptom. The only symptom being sever diarrhea.
Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
After few days I feel a pressure in my chest and my throat is uncomfortable.I began to diarrhea on 4st of June 2014.The second day I diarrhea all the day , maybe 10 times.So I went to the hospital.The doctor told me I got acute gastroenteritis.During this I have a fever.Body temperature 37.8 Centigrade. I took some Cefdinir and tyenol,after day my fever disappeared but still diarrhea,At this time,I feel weak and Joint pain,My throat still uncomfortable,and I began night sweat these days.
I am just going to take this and hope it goes away. I have a Pap smear in two weeks that should cover all STDs but HIV I think. I am going to wait about a month and then plan a trip to my local health department to get tested. My best advice is go to the county health department and get tested, at least you will have peace of mind. I am going in about 30 days. A tip I learned in college if you are embarrassed go to the neighboring county's health department.
Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems. So I scheduled an appointment for the surgery.
I am really afraid and I was giving a antibiotic called Cefdinir to take for 7 days two times a day. I am really worried. My head feels extremely conjested and my bed is still on the floor awaiting my new bedframe to be delivered at the beginning of October. I live in Texas so our a/c stays on. I can't sleep for researching hiv and symptoms. I want to buy a test from Wal-Mart but is it to early to check. I am so scared to go to the clinic.
I do the liguids and been using the Vit c drops to perevent coughing any one here have suggestion. I have cipro. and was wondering if anyone has used it for a few days for this type problem. I also have clindamycin that my dentist gives me before dental work I have to take this becase of open heart many years ago. I dont take any medication other than sentroid for thyroid any suggestions.
The next week, I was referred to an ENT who prescribed Cefdinir for 6 days. By the end of third week, it started to get better. During the 3 weeks of sore throat, I had no other symptoms like cough, cold, fever, rashes, swollen lymph nodes, fatigue etc. It was a case of bad tonsillitis and pharyngitis without any other symptoms. I have been told an isolated sore throat isnt ARS. I am waiting for my 6 week post-PEP test date, which would be during first week of December.
was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
I visited the doctor and explained to him about having unprotected sex and he sent me for a blood work for the regular test, I was also given antibiotics for sore throat and omeprazole for stomach. Results for HIV were negative after 4 days of waiting.This stomach ache kept on but sore throat had gone away.
Thanks for your response Jjewelz. After conventional medicine has so far failed me I went to see a DO who practices Integrative (or Functional) Medicine. She wants me to go dairy and gluten free to rule it out. I was hesitant but seeing I'm not getting any better worth trying it if only to eliminate it. I see her in a week.
Been on Zithromax/Mepron/Fish Oil/Artimisae for 11 weeks. Made improvements until about week 8 when I hit a wall and started regressing. My primary symptoms are head wooziness/pressure, post nasal drip, sore throat and general fatigue.
Saw doctor today and he says the bugs are either hiding and/or you may have another co-infection like Bartonella causing complications with the treatment and losing its effectiveness.
Upon release from the hospital I was given a prescription for an anti-biotic, CEFDINIR generic for OMNICEF, 300MG. I came home from the hospital Thursday and the heart beating problem continued. On Saturday morning, I developed another problem. I shivered but was not cold. I stuttered really bad. I don't normally stutter. It really scared my husband.
The Home Health Nurse came out and could not explain it. I had not taken the anti-biotic Saturday morning.
Sorry you are having such a hard time -- it may be a 'Herx' reaction, short for Herxheimer ... you can look it up on wikipedia, but it's the effect of the bacteria dying off and releasing their toxins into your system.
I'd call the doc's office tomorrow and report your symptoms, because it could be something the doc needs to know about, like whether to change the meds or the dose or whatever. Don't do that without the doc's approval, tho.
