Avatar f tn I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Avatar f tn Yes it very much could be, the same way that alcohol can discolor stools aswell and chilli and spicey foods have an affect on it. I would watch your stool for the next 24 to 48 hours and if you see no change go along to your doctor and mention you would like a stool test done. If you have no discomfort and your not having any symptoms that are out of the normal, and your stool is still the same consitancy as normal then you should be fine. Just keep an eye on it.
Avatar m tn ve had fairly significant changes to my bowel habits. There is blood in my stool which is generally bright red, and my stools tend to be very gassy and pass partially formed, and partially as diarrhea. The color of the stools is a light, reddish brown (notwithstanding the occasional bright red blood on the surface).
Avatar m tn Sorry if this sounds gross, but the other day I went to the bathroom and I noticed some small little red specs on my stools. They appeared to be maroon/red in color, and I'm not quite sure if it was blood. I did eat strawberries the day before, and I was wondering if that could have been the cause? Has anyone else noticed when passing bowel movements. Could it be undigested food. I'm kind of scared, so can someone please shed some light on this....Thanks.
Avatar m tn m doing. the supplements enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics and the 2nd antibiotic (cefdinir) is to go after the lyme. we know there is nothing here to treat the cyst form of lyme but the Dr. didn't want to put me on any more medicines at this time.
Avatar f tn Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.

Avatar f tn I took an antibiotic called cefdinir for about a week and I think augmentin for like a day?
631078 tn?1222357726 What could be the problem with bright red blood along with mucus in my stools. My stools has seemed not right either. They are quit small and never feel like I have emptied my stool when I do go. Can someone give me any suggestions.
Avatar m tn Third, what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand. My final question is that I visited a doctor in HK and he prescribed Cefdinir 300mgs, 2x a day for 2 weeks to treat possible STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) and he also indicated this could treat Syphilis. After spending some time online, I am confused and not certain that will treat the above issues.
Avatar n tn There are lots of things that can darken your stools, including Red Wine. And to have this much wine with so little food, I would think this could be the culprit. But if it is, you should feel better in a day or two. Sounds like it could also be food poisoning, which will go away on it's own via the diarrhea and vomiting removing it from your body. Try to stay hydrated in the meantime.
Avatar n tn hi, the other day i noticed a red colour in parts of my stools. i wondered if it could be something id eaten, but i hadnt eaten anything unusual or different. 4871739 tn?1360299939 Welcome to the forum. Black stools can be caused by several things (iron pills, for example) but one of the primary causes of black stools is bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine). This can be very dangerous for you, even life threatening. If you have black stools you should call your doctor immediately and/or go to the emergency room.
553076 tn?1215186466 Yesterday, after being in the toilet for around 20-30 minutes (I like to take my time), I noticed that the area surrounding my stools was a bright red (the stools itself were normal and I felt no pain). I got very upset and went to see the doctor in my office who suggested for me to go to the gastro and get a colonoscopy. Later I remembered that I had eaten a considerable amount of beetroot the previous day.
Avatar f tn ve been having bloody stools (not always) and painful bowl movements and painful gas. The blood is in my stools and in the toilet/on the paper. At first my family doctor said it was nothing and it would go away. Then she thought it was a fissure. She perscribed me several medications and ointments to help it go away. Which it didn't. My doctor doesn't exactly listen to her patients very well.. Thats besides my point.
Avatar f tn I felt my intestines churning and woke up with signs of diarrhea on my underwear. Last evening, again after a great meal and red wine, I took a Tums. In the morning, same thing -- diarrhea signs on my underwear!! Does anybody know if antacids interact with red wine to cause diarrhea?
Avatar f tn I have been having problems for several years now and no one can really find out whats going on. I have had blood in my stools for the past 5 or so years now. I have had two colonoscopy and two endoscopys and they said nothing was wrong but yet they couldnt explain the blood. I ended up in the er one night and they did a test to see if my galbladder was working, it wasnt and it get taken out. That however did not help the blood, they said its not big deal beacuse it is bright red.
Avatar f tn Is the dye from red chili enough to cause red stool? Less than a year ago I had a hemicolectomy to remove a cancerous tumor from my colon. The surgeon was confident in having removed the mass and no lymph nodes were affected. I opted against chemo. Lately (for several weeks) I've noticed dark spots in my stools and last night red. I'm not sure if it was from the red chili in the tamales I had at lunch, or if there is real reason for concern.
Avatar m tn the doctor said i have no polyps or anything visibly wrong with my colon. i've never had a good diet, but don't eat fast food or anything but i never ate properly, and i don't drink sufficent water. the past 2 years i've been having narrow stools ALOT and started bleeding recently so i had a colonoscpy done and nothing. but i get these frequent stomach aches. basically my question is what's wrong with me? my stool isn't as narrow as before.
Avatar n tn i had vomiting only once , then i took bland diets, like banana , milk, lots of fruits, activia yogurt foods that are easily digestible, since i switch to these diets, i was getting pale greenish loose stools for three days and now iam getting pale yellow stools for the past 3-4 days with small small red strings and green spots and mucous , iam not sure if that is the blood or worms. but i have no symptoms other than my pale color loose stools. what could be the reason for this .
Avatar n tn I am a 18 year old and pregnant..I am having blood in my stools as well as white mucas..Can you please tell me if this is something really dangerous to my baby and me..
Avatar n tn No one should have IBS. Your bowels are inflammed due to an chemical imbalance. You need to go back to the basic diet with no chemicals added. This means Fresh fruit and vegetables, plenty of spring water, no red meats for now. No breads...(breads have yeast which wreaks havo on your systm, also has mycotoxins....both of which is not good for your body at all. No bottled drinks except water. Fruit juice should be 100% frozen...no processed.
961424 tn?1271664581 I have noticed that I used to have looser stools and sometimes they are not as loose as before and I too and getting alot of bright red blood when going for a #2. I have also heard that hemeroids are a common preg symptom and will confirm this with my doc next week. It would not hurt though to contact your doc if you are not feeling comfortable with it.
Avatar f tn C diff is a bacteria that can often invade your bowels after antibiotics and cause diarrheah and bloody stools . Most of the time it comes after antibiotic use but this is not always the case. The antibiotics wipe out the good bacteria which usually can keep this in check so the cdiff takes over. Thats why its a good idea to always take probiotics when you are on an antibiotics and never take antibiotics unless you are sure an infection is bacterial.
