5591135 tn?1380168056 What are some herbs/supplements that are safe to give cats that are over the counter to help with bladder infections/UTI's? We just cleaned the litter boxes and someone is peeing massive amounts of blood. I know its not Milo-he uses the upstairs box. We 5 other cats to rule out. Sigh....None are acting weird.
Avatar m tn If you can definitely relate it to the cat, see if your girlfriend could/would vacuum right before you come over, clean up as much of the cat hair and dander before you come over, possibly keep the cat in a different room of thehouse than you're going to be in and stay away from the cat as much as possible. This may help reduce your symptoms while you are there. You may also want to consider taking one of the over the counter allergy meds such as Zyrtec or Benadryl.

Avatar f tn Anyone have experience with any over the counter depression medicine that works well?
Avatar f tn I used to have them prescribed, but the prescription cost on the nhs was higher then buying them over the counter. .. I normally have zertec or cetrizeane (I think one of them is the same as pyrtine) ... my first appointment isn't for over a week yet, but.this is on my long list of questions to ask when I get there. Thank you for your help!
Avatar n tn Treatment of sinusitis involves Oral antibiotics (usually 10 to 14 days). They are to be taken on prescription. You can use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time.Inhale steam and use corticosteroid nasal sprays. Severe cases may require oral steroids and sinus drainage.Pls talk to your doctor about this option. Hope it helps.
753096 tn?1233582336 If it is...can anyone suggest over-the-counter drugs or ointments I can use while I try to find out what it is that's causing it?
1232362 tn?1333135406 I figure if people can build up resistance to antihistamines that it would be reasonable to assume that the same thing can happen to the cat. I generally give her the Zyrtec when the allergies are bothering her the most so that I don't give her too much.
Avatar f tn There is a solution called allerpet-c that pet stores should carry, if not it is available over the internet. It is a liquid solution you rub on the cat and it helps to denature some of the cat dander. Works wonders for me, defintely have more symptoms when the cats are due to be washed. Vaccuum a lot and groom the cat regularly outside to help keep the hair down in the house.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep a cat off the counter? I have tried using tape, squirting her, and many other things. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use to keep her off the counter?
365714 tn?1292199108 MJ, look how many years you've been around the cats-don't you think that if you were allergic something would've shown up a long time ago? I'm no doctor, but I'm gonna guess that your headaches are from something else-you on a new med, change of dose, more stress, fever, etc. Don't let the doctor blame this on allergies without checking out other causes. If it does wind up diagnosed as allergies, there's lots of good meds out there.
Avatar f tn Sniffles, I think you got that name regarding the allergies eh? First off, if your friend don't mind, make sure the cats can be brushed. You might or might not know this, but it's not the hair that we are allergic to, it's the cat's saliva. They clean themselves with the saliva and then it gets on the hair. So it's not just the cat/s, it's anything the cat licks or gets the hair after it cleans itself on. Brushing the cat before and after visits will help.
Avatar f tn over the next couple weeks i started getting vertigo whenever it felt like my ear was starting to open it would last 2 hours to 10 hours, not getting any answers from my doctor, i went to the emergency rm.
541150 tn?1306033843 Well as some of you know my cat Abby is extremely attached to me and sleeps with us in the bed. Abby cannot stand to be away from me and we know why. We have been through a lot with him so he is very needy and co-dependent. He is definitely not your typical cat but he is justified and I love him very much no matter what :-) When my baby is born he will sleep in the room with us. Can the baby be affected by cat hair? How do I know if my baby has developed allergies from my cat's saliva?
Avatar f tn I have a cold an taking no medicine is killing me. Is there Any over the counter meds I can take?
4371309 tn?1357956329 My Dr at Kaiser said that the OTC and the ones they prescribe are the same. I didn't argue with her since she has the degree and just bough some from the pharmacy. When ever your next visit is with your OB check with her/him.
5079728 tn?1365549989 So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
