405406 tn?1247428742 May I also suggest you start your weight tracker and mood tracker as they are wonderful tools to monitor our progress and can also be used to help us identify any emotional relationship with food during periods of overeating. Walking with your dog is a wonderful way to exercise. Great job! Be sure and try adding a few other types of exercise in as well to keep your program well rounded. Hope you'll keep posting daily; our active participation is directly tied to our success.
1568296 tn?1295471273 m eating and am surprised there is no place to enter or track it in the food diary. Can you add this to the tracker, or is there somewhere else to track fiber (actual grams, not just if I ate it or not)? Thanks.
Tbd It usually involves cutting all added sugars, grains, sweet fruits and starchy veges. Low carb is defined as less than 100g of carbs per day. Very low carb is 25 - 50 g of carb per day. When you cut carbs you still energy so you get this from increasing your fat intake and making sure you have enough protein. Enough protein can be at least 100g for a woman and probably about 120g for a man. You can use a diet tracker to work out which foods have how much carbs, protein, and fats.
Avatar m tn Dr. W. I'm sure you've heard the phrase "fat and happy." Well, it's not just folklore. The same carbs that make you fat (and contribute to diabetes and other problems) also make you happy. It's simple science: Carbs allow more of the amino acid L-tryptophan to penetrate your brain. The L-tryptophan triggers your brain to make more serotonin, and the serotonin makes you feel happier. It's as simple as that!
1715838 tn?1330648200 Hopefully others who use the MH Diabetes tracker will come along and provide you with tips. In the meantime you can download the Atkins carb tool by Googling "atkins carbohydrate counter list". The food list is quite extensive and detailed and is 106 pages.
Avatar f tn Is there a way to enter "low carb" or "Atkins" in the "set up" your own diet goals online or via the Android app? What types of diets -- with the specific words'--may we use on the set up page?
Avatar m tn I went low carb, but not true Keto as I found that too demanding and not necessary. Get a good carb tracker and set a daily carb goal with your doctor. I like low carb because it allows you to focus on what you can eat and not what you can't so much. In my case, a typical 2,500 calorie day equates to an allowable carb number around 200 and I try too keep it under 100 which is not very difficult in time.
Avatar f tn The name is misleading, it should be called the Slow Carb Nutritional Program! You can stay on it for the rest of your life! If you own an iPhone - the apps are free online. You can order it online as a hardcover or an eBook. Basically, you can everything except for "White Carbohydrates" .... Bread, potatoes, fruits, rice & noodles - for example!
10947 tn?1281404252 I would be interrested in an multiple sclerosis tracker. I would only be interested if the tracker worked as a program that sync'd with microsoft healthvault. Not just symptoms but diaet, emotional, treatment etc. Feel free to contract me is you wouldmlike further discussioin.
1163968 tn?1263772789 what about the other way around, i was using another program, i need to import it into this program tracker
Avatar n tn I have started the food tracker and the weight tracker but is there a tracker or program on this site that will inform me, based on the amount of weight I'd like to lose, of how many calories I SHOULD eat per day, etc.? If this exists where might I find it?
Avatar n tn I would add the exercise tracker, diabetic tracker, and food tracker. They really do help.
Avatar n tn I am setting my fitness pal goals to help keep track of my diet. Trying to figure out calorie/carb/fat/protein ratio. For someone pre-diabetic/possibly type 2. I am 5'4 195 lbs. I have it set for 1200 cal 25%carb 30%fat 45%protein. I have had blood sugar issues but haven't been sticking with the program. I have been feeling crappy lately so I started tracking sugars again and it's not so great. I plan to got to the Dr. next week to have my a1c1 checked. It's been a while.
788117 tn?1304011947 That way you can account for all the calories you burn in one day (not just those related to exercise) and compare them to all the calories you consume. I like their diet tracker very much but I like that Med Help has trackers for my migraines, my mood, etc. It's good to get a total picture and the migraine tracker is helping my neurologist and I recognize patterns so I can improve my treatment program. I hope you'll consider my suggestions, but just the same, keep up the good work!
1475202 tn?1536270977 Thank you viaduk and Welcome to the "Cirrhosis of the Liver" community! The program I used was Microsoft Excel. It can be a pretty extensive program and to become familiar with it training may be required. MedHelp offers several different trackers that I have heard others remark that they work very effectively. Take a look at the "complete blood count" tracker and see if it fits your needs. You will have the option to make this tracker public or private whatever you perfer.
1568296 tn?1295471273 t correct for the total per meal. This is for fat, carb, protein and calories. If I made only one entry, a snack of an apple for example, then the total is correct. However when there is a list of items the total for the meal is not accurate and in some cases very far off. Therefore my tracker is not correct either. Is this possibly a bug?
Avatar f tn t evolve with systems that expect a low carb diet. I have answers for all the myths surrounding the low carb diets if anyone want to ask privately. (like increased cardiovascular risk, gall bladder disease, kidney disease - all false). 'Nough said. I believe it as a scientist. I will probably need to delete this.
10947 tn?1281404252 Hi, We just rolled out the ability to personalize your tracker by changing the color scheme of it. You now have a choice of 8 different color schedules for your tracker. To change the color, go to your tracker in My MedHelp and click on the "Tracker Settings" link. From there, you'll see the color options at the bottom. Pick one and hit save. This is the first of the personalization features we have coming. Let us know what you think!
Avatar f tn Here on this site they have trackers. This includes a food tracker. If you start a meal tracker for yourself you can enter each food you eat or plan to eat and it will tell you how many carbs are in it (also how many fat and protein grams, and calories). To get your trackers go the the top of the screen and click on "My Med Help", click on "Trackers" and you will come up with a list of trackers, you can then add the meal tracker.
Avatar n tn If you would like to follow me I eat low carb I eat 30 carbs a day bc I had JD and my dad died at 53 from complication to diabetes so if I eat 30 or less carbs a day my A1C is 5.3 when I eat carbs it's about a 8 so that's my happy number.
Cat Can the data from my activity tracker be linked to the Walgreen site to track my activity?
Avatar m tn Eat a low carb high protein diet and exercise with both cardio and resistance training; resistance training is essential. A low carb diet like Atkins is one great way to reduce body fat, and because of the high protein, you wont lose muscle. However you can use any other type of high protein diet plan, as long as you keep total calories in control.
