Common Questions and Answers about Carb counting rye bread

carb

Avatar f tn Some carbs can raise you more than others. Ie. the sweet potato worked better for you than the rye bread. When you are eating low carb make sure you eat more fat (unprocessed is best) so that you won't feel hungry. Nuts, full fat dairy, avocado, butter, olive oil, fat that comes with the meat are all good sources. However, do avoid deep fried foods and transfats that are present in many processed foods. If you are interested look up the book Diabetes Solutions by Dr.
Avatar f tn If you are still using white bread try switching to wheat, spelt, rye bread etc.
Avatar f tn e have smaller portions of potatoes, rice, bread...instead go for better carb options like brown rice, rye bread etc and keep the portions small of these small). Increase your vegetable portions and meat protein if you're not vegetarian. Ive noticed my levels spike when I have too much starch at one meal, so now I really have to watch it. Its annoying but they're forcing the issue, so I guess I have to accept it.
Avatar f tn what are the food that has high carb? do rice and bread contain large portion of carbs? my doctor never told me about that so I have been living that way for almost 10 years...it s not until now I discovered this "carb counting" thingy...
193609 tn?1292180293 Well I think a low carb diet is anywhere from 25-50 carbs a day. I think depending on your weight now and height and with your activity level you have to check out what amount you need to start losing weight.

535822 tn?1443976780 My favorite sandwich bread is light rye with caraway seeds followed by dark rye, Italian or whole wheat. I love cold meats and cheeses, preferring the meat shaved thin and the cheese about 4 times that in thickness. Brown mustard with horseradish is a must.
Avatar m tn I have (had) Pansinusitus since June 2015, and I had several courses of antibiotics and Cortizol sprays and inhalers, which contributed to my eye sickness, which I only diagnosed a year later (CSCR) I struggled a lot with breathing, hissing in my lungs and a severe blocked nose, and a LOT of mucus. I used boxes and boxes of tissue. During August 2016 I took action, and visited a lot of specialists.
1290943 tn?1272093764 My daughter was diagnosed earlier this week and we are struggling with the carb counting still. She has her first endo appt on Monday but I feel like her numbers are all over the place. I felt a lot better about my 'abilities' to count carbs after reading about this Dawn Phenomenon.... anything else I should know? My biggest question is what to feed her in the morning. She SPIKES if she eats cereals (which she prefers) and I'm not crazy about all the sugar anyway.
Avatar f tn EAS makes a great pre- made low carb protein shake, Walmart carries it. I normally eat about 1500 calories. Here is my daily diet: 2 eggs and I piece of whole wheat or rye bread with 1 tbsp all natural peanut butter snack: low carb protein shake and Fiber Plus brand fiber bar lunch: flavored tuna, chicken with salad, or sandwhich with some kind of meat, 1 piece of fruit (apple or serving of grapes), and 2 little pieces of candy, normally some kind of Reese's!

Avatar m tn I am still under active and was told it will be that way for the rest of my life, I must take Levothyroxine every day except 1. I do it 6 days a week. I did mention to my Dr the additional testing that can be done but I can't remember everything he said but he was not convinced it would be of any benefit to me. I even printed some link I got with what exactly I was talking about. He wanted to keep it and read it, so I won't see him till October.
Avatar f tn There's nothing wrong with the veggies you mention. The only reason they might cause bloating is because they are chock full of fiber and if you aren't used to eating a lot fiber, it can cause you to bloat. Broccoli is a goitrogen, which can interfere with thyroid function, but only when eaten raw. Cooking foods that are considered goitrogens, takes away the goitrogenic properties. You mention gluten in your title, then rye vs white bread.

Avatar n tn If a person has celicas disease their body is not able to digest a certain protein found in wheat, barley, rye or malt and constant diarrhea is a classic symptom. What I find amazing is I too have experienced exactly what you have. I remember a few years ago when I could not eat anything without going directly to the restroom immediately after eating. Search "celiacs disease" or "glutten intollerance" and see if any of your symptoms fall into this problem.
Avatar n tn My back is now to the point where it has a very unnatural curve in it due to the distension pulling. The only way to get it down is to eat a high protein low carb diet. I have been told things like its IBS though none of the IBS treatments work, you just put on weight easy but none of my other areas such as my face, hands, chest areas get any fatter. This problem is running my life. All of my scans such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy, xray, ultrasound, blood tests are normal. Please help!
Avatar f tn s own has some low cal, low carb whole wheat with fiber, white and honey wheat bread. I usually have one slice toasted for breakfast with 2 eggs and cheese (free carbs) of course I'm not an expert, just been learning as I go. I still have quite a ways until my due date. It's a lot of trial and error as you learn. I also never deprive myself. I do portion control. If I want pasta and garlic bread I'll have a small portion of it and lots of salad or veggies.
594189 tn?1386916607 Is 100% whole wheat bread a simple carb? Is milk a simple carb? or is it only white bread and pasta's?
8526246 tn?1405601876 For breakfast I get 1 milk, 1 carb, 2 protein, 1 fat. For snack I get 1 fruit (no juice), 1 carb, 1 meat. For lunch I get 1 milk, 3 veggies, 1 fruit, 3 carb, 3 meat, 2 fat. Afternoon snack I get 1 fruit, 1 carb, 1 protein. For dinner I get 3 veggies, 1 fruit, 3 starch, 4 protein, 3 fat. Bedtime snack I get 1 milk, 1 carb, 1 protein. It's a lot of food. Avatar f tn I am also not able to eat ANY bread or cereal because my body has a hard time processing it. I can eat 20g of carb in the form of a whole grain cereal and my blood sugar after looks as though I ate 60g of another type of carb. I've even tried high protein whole grain cereals...same thing happens. I love oatmeal and whole wheat bread...I haven't been able to eat either since I developed GDM...after baby is born, I am SO buying a box of my favorite cereal and some oatmeal!
370181 tn?1595629445 yesterday when I was in the grocery store, I was browsing the bread aisle and saw some bread which stated it was gluten free. As I was reaching for it, I noticed the price tag. $4.00. For a loaf of bread! I WANT to help myself, but my food budget these days does not include a four dollar loaf of bread. Dairy would be milk, cheese, yogurt.........all staples in my fridge.
