If it doesn't work for you, then you need different kind of diet, maybe a more moderate-carb diet. Avatar f tn I do work out, but I do have some weight to lose. I know all about complex carbs, carb count, protein with meals, and glycemic index and insulin resistance. All I ever see online is pre-diabetes and that's it. Being that this has been going on for a short time, I feel that it may be something else. Avatar f tn I have a type 1 diabetic daughter she is 7 yrs old and we count carbs. She gets so many units of insulin for how many carbs she eats plus so many units for how much her numbers are above what the doc wants. That doc sounded like a real jerk. My grandma is a type 2 diabetic as well and has many problems with high numbers and we just found out that she is in begining stages of kidney failure. So its deffinantly important not to give up.
