You can take the medication with or without food. I was going to suggest hat you take it with milk but you cannot take it with milk or other dairy products, unless your doctor has told you to. Dairy products can make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine. According to the literature a select few brands of doxycycline may not have restrictions about taking them with dairy products. Any way I would be sure and take the meds with your meals as this should help ease the tummy upset.
I read it is an antibiotic, and looked up, the ones I have are 100mg, the website said I should take 2-3 a day for 10-14 days. Also I will not be having sex for a month or two since my partners away on business/visiting family.
Also how should I clean myself? I've been wearing a pad and changing them frequently.

I have taken doxycycline twice, azythromicin, metronidazole, and moxifloxacin. I had relief with initial doxycycline treatment, but it came back shortly after.
Tests for herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, ureaplasma, micoplasma, trichomonas, syphillis, HIV, hepatitis are all negative.

I tested positive for C Difficile Culture and negative for Cytotoxin B Production. I was prescribed Cipro 500mg 2x for 3 days. I was also instructed to finish Metronidazole 500mg 3x a day that was previously prescribed for suspected parasite. I tested negative for a parasite.
I took z pack and Cipro one month ago. I believe one or both of these antibiotics could be a contributing factor in getting c diff.
Hi all, I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis and prescribed oral doxycycline and metronidazole cream - seems like a pretty standard treatment - and it worked like a charm within a week. The doctor prescribed 6 weeks of the oral and didn’t mention any length of time for the cream. I stopped using the cream once the rash was gone and have reduced capsules to once a day instead of twice. I have about 10 days left of the capsules.
My doctor prescribed me Azithromycin tablets to take as one dose and then gave me an injection of Ceftriaxone and prescribed me Doxycycline and Metronidazole after I told him I was still having severe abdominal pain. However, my doctor said that after the pelvic exam and ultrasound, he did not suspect that I had PID and that a laparoscopy would be more definitive to diagnose it.

t work according to my retest, so I took Doxycycline and according to the results from the test last Saturday- I am now free and clear of both Chlamydia and Gonarrhea. However, I have this new type of discharge that happens in the morning. The discharge appears similar to semen but it can't be. Urination is painful. I went back to my doctors office took several additional tests, urine and swab which didn't capture any discharge.
he gave me another round of azithromycin 1g. after that i had another 10-day doxycycline course together with 2g metronidazole. still the symptoms are there.
i've done some research and i know i've taken an awful lot of drugs enough to kill whatever i have in my system but still i have all of the symptoms, though the discharge won't pop out unless i squeeze/milk my penis/glans, my urethra still itches. could it be i have something else?
Or should I request of the STD clinic to take (doxycycline) plus metronidazole? Now that I have started metronidazole should I just stop on the 4th day, and wait for the new doxycycline plus metronidazole regime? That is, will taking another 3 days of it without the doxycycline make me build up a resistance to it or should I stay the course and see if another 3 days helps.
hello, I have recently had a urine test and tested positive for ngu, been prescribed metronidazole, ciprofloxacin & prescribed myself with doxycycline tablets after research on the web. 1 day after i start medication I notice a rash in the head of my penis, it doesn't itch or irritate me, If I hadn't of seen it I wouldn't of knew it was there? can this be a side effect of by medication, or any other sti?
Having said that however, my guess is that the erythromycin/metronidazole will take care of things. I sure hope so. Take care.

When itching started i was prescribed napamol and prednisonethe went away but it is back i am left with a day to finish antibiotic cause...
I went to several different doctors and they all told me I have Peri oral Dermatitis. I was prescribed Metronidazole at first and with no luck. The dryness slowly got worse and the red spots were not going away. I used Phisioderm to wash my wash my face and the dryness disappeared in a few days but then came back just as quick.

Hi. I tested negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea but postive for NGU. I have been on multiple courses of antibiotics, starting with the standard azithromycin single dose, then double dose, doxycyline for 7 days, doxycycline for 7 days plus metronidazole for 5 days, doxycycline for 7 days plus something else for 5 days, and finally erythromycin at 500mg 4 times a day for 21 days.
I went back to the clinic again on 3/29 because of the bladder pain and this time I was prescribed one day of cefixime, metronidazole and 7 days of doxycycline 100mg for 7 days. During the doxycycline, all my symptoms seemed to go away. But before the course of doxycycline was even over, maybe day 4 or 5 of treatment, the bladder symptoms came back for a day. Then they were gone again the next day.
That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
next doctor visit was 10/06/2012 doctor said i needed a longer treatment so i was given 250 mg of metronidazole and azithromycin for ten days .. this didnt cure me either 10/13/2012 i was given. and doxycycline. this didnt work either.. so i just went again 11/10/2012 and was given tindamax 500 mg 4 pills for single dose. im still not cured. why arent any of these antibiotics working what can i do? my doc said in two weeks i shoul get a referral in the mail to a gynecologist.
m so remote I was given 2g metronidazole and 1g azithromysin in the event symptoms appear in the field. I was given rocephin 500mg and 7 days doxycycline at 100mg twice daily 2 days after initiating PEP, but am concerned it might be something else causing irritation now.
Is it safe to take the metronidazole and azithromysin course given those measures? AST returned normal. GGT returned normal. Available kidney measures were normal (creatinine just slightly low).
anyway so on november 19th tested positive for chlamydia, had 1g of azith 4 tablets taken at once, next few hours and couple of days i felt good like i was getting back to normal, then after a few days the frequent urination started to kick in again but it wasnt as strong as before and i thought well whats going on.. i was told it could take a couple of weeks to settle down,i waited nothing happened.

Unfortunately I am at a small island without a lab where my discharge can be tested and I have lost faith in the local doctors with whom, due to the language barrier, I have a hard time communicating with. What antibiotic/dose can I buy and be sure it will cure me? What risk do I run if my condition is left untreated until April, when I'm scheduled to return home. I masturbated and had protected sex while taking the antibiotics. Is that significant? Thank you for your time and help.
Hook, am I correct in understanding that I can engage in unprotected sex with my partner immediately following my completion of the two weeks of doxycycline and 10 days of avelox without putting my partner at risk? Also at what time can I receive a conclusive result from an at home oral rapid hiv test? Are these accurate?
