Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic irregular heartbeat

bystolic

Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
Avatar m tn The dr prescribed me Bystolic for my blood pressure and the tachycardia (fast heartrate around 133 after eating) that I was getting. What Bystolic does is it helps prevent irregular heartbeats by making your heart beat more slowly and with less force which reduces your bloodpressure. Nowadays my blood pressure is under control and I do not get the tachycardia anymore. Since taking Bytolic I was more aware of my "skipping heartbeat" than before.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I started taking bystolic 10mg (samples) for constant irregular heartbeat. Yes it definitely cured that but gave me the same muscle fatigue in my legs that you mention, they felt like they weighed a ton! Was also on some lisinopril for HBP. Because the stuff worked on my heart it was worth it to me to try to get used to it or work with the dosing with my doctor. After several different trials, I am now taking 5 mg bystolic and no lisinopril and my body seems to have adjusted.
Avatar f tn I was in the hospital for 5 days because my heart rate went up to 170 and my BP hit 165. I was admitted and had lots of test done. I've been told that I have an irregular heart beat but the heart doctor say's that its nothing to worry about and that 1 in 12 people have it. I was put on beta blockers to slow my heart rate down and it continued to climb once I was discharged from the hospital.
Avatar m tn s for years, but lately they have become chronic and can interfere with falling asleep or will wake me. My cardiologist prescribed Bystolic 5 mg., but on their web site, they caution people with "irregular heartbeats" not to take it. I called the 800 number they listed, but they couldn't tell me why. It seems to me that if they caution me not to take it, that I shouldn't. Now what?
Avatar m tn I was put on 2.5mg am and 5mgpm bystolic. I used to walk 4 miles and play good golf. I have put on weight i have no engegy to walk nor desire .My golf is now poor tired after 12 holes. any "effort tires me. Am 81 and always felt much younger. no longer. I wonder if less would make a difference. I couldn,t even finish a stress test.
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar m tn About 2 months ago I started experiencing an irregular heartbeat only lasting around 30 seconds or so. My cardiologist changed one of my medications in early July. That's when I think my current symptoms started. Now every time I work out, have sex or do anything that requires the slightest physical exertion, I experience the heart rate change. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar f tn have just been to cardiologist for results of echo, ECG and 24 hr holter, due to a continuous irregular heartbeat. have been taking antenolol for the last 10 years but for the last 6 months the arythmias have got wors.
Avatar n tn I am a 45 yo female. History of anxiety/panic attacks. In February 2006 I went to the ER with SOB and chest pain. I remember the term IST after my EKG. The cardiologist admitted me. Over the next three days I had blood work, Echo, thallium stress test, monitoring, and a catheterization. I was told it was anxiety, had exercise intolerance and needed to lose weight (I weighed 175 at that time). I have since lost 45-50 pounds, but still do not exercise. I always had normal bp (120/80).
Avatar m tn 'Irregular heartbeat' is quite a vague term but presumably you mean skipped beats. Assuming you mean skipped beats (PACs and PVCs), it is very common to feel them less when the heart rate is elevated. In fact, many people are provided relief from their PACs and PVCs through exercise.
Avatar f tn The flip flopping can indicate an irregular beat although with me it sometimes is just plain old sinus tachycardia but if you feel like it is skipping then that is likely an ectopic beat of some sort or some sort of irregular beat pattern. The only way to know for sure though is to have it captured on a monitor. But the bottom line is if it doesn't feel like the heart is beating in consistent time then it is possibly irregular.
Avatar m tn Hello im an 18 year old male from the UK, I do alot of sports and Fitness and am going into the Royal Navy. My problem is i seem to have a very fast and irregular heartbeat at the moment. Avatar f tn I have 3 children my youngest is 2 1/2 and about 11 months after having the last one I began having an irregular heartbeat. Sometimes once or twice a day and other times 20-30 times a day. With my first two children I had hyperthyroidism after both children and have a very fast resting heart rate (130 bpm) and was put on beta blockers until my thyroid resumed normal function.

1346046 tn?1297156080 HI, can anyone tell me what they do if you have an irregular heartbeat, thanks.
460185 tn?1326077772 Twice in two weeks it has said I had an irregular heartbeat. I took another reading right after and at various times during the day and there were no more such readings. This machine has also told me that I have moved when I haven't and that there is an electrical problem when there isn't (I've tested it). The problem is that in March I had a heart attack and had a balloon/stent put in my artery so I am really aware and afraid of things going wrong.
