My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?

I have had IST for as long as I can remember and I am on Bystolic and Midodrine to help with my sysmptoms. But in the last 2 weeks the symptoms have returned chest pain for the past 3 days that nothing will get rid of it or help with the pain and my heart rate is near 100 when at rest and 120 or higher when I am walking. What should I do?

I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!

a cardio doctor recent, put me on 10mg of bystolic and 120mg verapamil daily - for 3 days I was fine-after that became sick throwing up and couldnt sleep at night. doc then said to cutt down to 5mg bystolic and 60mg verap on this doseage after 3 weeks of going threw hell. I got sort of use to it - now though doc changed me to this dose 2.5 mg bystolic & 60mg verap a.m time daily - and 2.5 mg bystolic at night time - ugg !! gets the b.p down ok .

Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.

I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.

I had the same arm, shoulder back and knee problems from the very next morning after taking my first Bystolic. I'm 67. I have exercised everyday since I was 14 years old. I don't normally have aches and pains. After five days I couldn't stand it anymore. When so many people are complaining about this, how can doctors and phamacists say it's not a side effect just because the literature doesn't mention it.

Hi, I'm a 33 year old Caucasian female. I'm 5'4, 145 lbs. I developed high blood pressure in 2002 (when I was 22)during the last months of pregnancy, & after the birth of my daughter. My OB then said I did not have Toxemia. I had a really difficult labor having her, and my BP got really high during the delivery. After the delivery, my BP started running higher than it used to, like about 154/95.

(on Bystolic, normal HR around 85-95 for 20 years, now running around 120-130 off the Bystolic. Need to come off Bystolic due to having severe burning/tingling in legs). I have asked for testing on several occassions for Thyroid problems due to the multiple symptoms that I have. My labs (which my Dr.s usually only check the TSH level) usually are in the normal range. Many times they are only a few tenths in range of what the labs consider to be the normal range. The last TSH test (over 1 year ago) came back .39 on a range of .35-5.0. I am currently waiting on new lab results.

I have tried atenolol, but makes me sooooo tired, I am also tired on Bystolic not as much. Could the Bystolic be causing circulatory problems? No edema to feet or ankles but, some to medial knees. I have a diagnosis of Afib secondary to a prior case of pericarditis. Treating Afib with Bystolic. Last Tuesday developed bradycardia; heart rate in the 40 to 50's. Constant chest pain, spent night in hospital for cardiac work up which was negative. Now we are going to do EGD to rule out stomach issues causing low pulse but I am thinking my cervical spine problems (which have worsened) may be the cause. I also have upper thoracic pain. Could this be the cause?

I need some serious help here as I am having significant problems and the doctors don't seem to know what is wrong with me. I started taking Bystolic 5mg in early September of this year due to palpitations and an abnormally high resting heart rate. They can't find any cause with testing.

i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!

My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.

•Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.

The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?

I was taking it and had some respiratory problems and they put me on Bystolic ... the Pulmonary doctor told me that Toprol XL sometimes caused breathing or bronchial problems.. and the Bystolic is more respiratory friendly... they are both Beta Blockers...

My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?

I started Bystolic about 3 months ago and have been having increasing pain in the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, right shoulder blade area, and upper right arm. I am also getting weakness in my right arm and hand. If I turn my head in given direction the pain goes right to my right shoulger blade area. The doc gave me muscle relaxers but they did nothing. I also had an MRI done but it also showed nothing.

Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?

Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.

I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.

I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?

I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
