Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic for irregular heartbeat

bystolic

Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been taking Bystolic for two month now. I am taking 2,5 mg a day. Which dosis did the dr. put you on? My resting heartrate was before taking the med around 80-90. Since taking the med 55-65. The dr prescribed me Bystolic for my blood pressure and the tachycardia (fast heartrate around 133 after eating) that I was getting. What Bystolic does is it helps prevent irregular heartbeats by making your heart beat more slowly and with less force which reduces your bloodpressure.
1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I started taking bystolic 10mg (samples) for constant irregular heartbeat. Yes it definitely cured that but gave me the same muscle fatigue in my legs that you mention, they felt like they weighed a ton! Was also on some lisinopril for HBP. Because the stuff worked on my heart it was worth it to me to try to get used to it or work with the dosing with my doctor. After several different trials, I am now taking 5 mg bystolic and no lisinopril and my body seems to have adjusted.
Avatar f tn I was in the hospital for 5 days because my heart rate went up to 170 and my BP hit 165. I was admitted and had lots of test done. I've been told that I have an irregular heart beat but the heart doctor say's that its nothing to worry about and that 1 in 12 people have it. I was put on beta blockers to slow my heart rate down and it continued to climb once I was discharged from the hospital.
Avatar m tn I have taken Bystolic for 6 years. It worked really well up until the last year. Have had very few side effects.
Avatar m tn On med for irregular heart . He also put me warfirin..Weight gain is not that much. A friend told me he could't take the batta blockers cause he had no energy. He also thought i should go to Cleveland Clinic here in SouthFlorida. I am going to see My Dr and ask about a lower dose like you thought. Then Perhaps call Cleveland Clinic. Thanks for your input.
Avatar n tn ve been on metoprolol before, and had some awful side effects with that one, but the bystolic seems to tame those down quite a bit for me. I've only had two instances in which I could tell I was experiencing some slight side effects (dizziness, slight shortness of breath, pressure). I've also been told by my GP that, if I find myself with a rapid heart rate or back in A-fib, I can take another 2.5mg dose right then, since it's such a small dosage.
Avatar m tn About 2 months ago I started experiencing an irregular heartbeat only lasting around 30 seconds or so. My cardiologist changed one of my medications in early July. That's when I think my current symptoms started. Now every time I work out, have sex or do anything that requires the slightest physical exertion, I experience the heart rate change. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar m tn My doctor suggested bystolic. It has worked very well for the last year, I have been very pleased with it. In fact, I didn't switch my insurance this year because the alternative company did not want to authorize the use of the bystolic (it's a lot more expensive). I have had no side effects to speak of, much less than the atenolol. I would certainly give it a shot.
Avatar f tn have just been to cardiologist for results of echo, ECG and 24 hr holter, due to a continuous irregular heartbeat. have been taking antenolol for the last 10 years but for the last 6 months the arythmias have got wors.
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing a lot of weakness and dizziness and feeling like im gonna faint. Well on and off for a while now I have been getting this heartbeat that actually the best way to describe it is it looses rythm alltogether. It sort of just dows a twitching thing but it only lasts a few seconds then its gone. I also get chest pain up in my shoudler and sometimes right above my heart. It aso will start beating really fast for no reason. I have clocked it at160 before without excersizing.
Avatar f tn I was at my first midwife appointment today and she said everything looked fine except my pulse is irregular and she is sending me for a ECG on Monday. I'm absolutely freaking out. Has anyone else been told they have an irregular pulse or know anything about it? She told me not to worry myself about it but it needs to be looked at. I'm really quite scared and not sure what to do.
Avatar f tn They sent me hm w/diagnosis irregular heartbeat and an ekg monitor i had to wear for 24hrs. Im confused as to what it all means. Can you shine a light on the subject for me?
Avatar f tn I have 3 children my youngest is 2 1/2 and about 11 months after having the last one I began having an irregular heartbeat. Sometimes once or twice a day and other times 20-30 times a day. With my first two children I had hyperthyroidism after both children and have a very fast resting heart rate (130 bpm) and was put on beta blockers until my thyroid resumed normal function.
Avatar m tn 'Irregular heartbeat' is quite a vague term but presumably you mean skipped beats. Assuming you mean skipped beats (PACs and PVCs), it is very common to feel them less when the heart rate is elevated. In fact, many people are provided relief from their PACs and PVCs through exercise.
Avatar m tn That said, I think it is possible that a pinched nerve, if it is causing pain/stress/anxiety, could cause irregular heartbeats.
