bystolic

116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.
Avatar m tn So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic. I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing. I also suffer from dizziness but I dont know if this is related.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again. My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
1272987 tn?1274671710 However whenever I do any cardio my heart rate shoots up and stays there for hours on end, making me feel dizzy and sick; even walking to and from my classes at university causes this. Reading that sinus arrhythmia is supposedly a good thing in young people I am worried that perhaps something else is wrong with me. I just want to be able to get outside and be active again, is there anything special I should be doing? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Similar to the reactions a person with high blood pressure, would have to say a decongestant. That question was never answered. However, he handed me bystolic 5mg samples, and said to take them for the PAT. If anyone could answer my question about the medication reactions I would appreciate it. I also would like to know if it's wise for me to be taking the bystolic. I do not have, nor have I ever had blood pressure problems.
Avatar m tn My Doctor game me a months worth of Bystolic, which is a beta blocker. My resting heart beat is @ 48-52 and up moving around it is @ 60. I work out two- three times a week, lifting and cardio. I am a very strong 55 yr old, in really good shape. A muscular 230 lbs. My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow?
Avatar m tn Bystolic IS a beta blocker that also contains a vasodialator component in it. I'm happy that is is working for you. As a cautionary note though, Bystolic is not a drug that you can abruptly end, and here are also a number of serious side effects associated with this drug.
Avatar f tn I exercise strenuously at least 5 days a week--both bicycling and swimming, typically an hour at a time, although one bike ride a week might be 35 miles in 2+ hours. My heart rate during peak effort is typically over 100% of my predicted maximum HR. I noticed recently that while my heart rate came down rapidly when I stopped exercising, it never went back to normal, but stayed about 20 bpm above normal.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar m tn t really have an answer for you except that my doctor haas placed me on bystolic for my tachycardia. My resting is not scary high but it is elevated and my exercise induced is extremely high and once it gets over 175 it takes about 90 minutes to drop to 100. Anyway I guess my point is definately ask your doctor what they think, and like Susie said I think it depends where the tachycardia is occuring. Anyway good luck to you.
Avatar m tn The question I have is I am taking Bystolic Imdur ER and Lisiniprol which I know the Bystolic keeps the heart rate way down...at what rate should I use for heart rate for training .. My max would normally 158 but I am not sure what changes on meds.......
214864 tn?1229715239 All beta blockers cause fatigue, exercise intolerance, and lethargy to some extent. We are all unique, so it depends on the dosage and the strength/conditioning of our hearts and bodies. Beta blockers limit how fast and how forceful the contraction of our heart is. They actually reduce blood circulation in our extremities because there is less output from our heart. BUT they save more lives than any other heart med for those of us with damage to our hearts.
Avatar n tn I have a 20% efraction rate recently received a ICD ... Bystolic and diabetic, Hypertension meds... I am tired all the time and have not been given a real idea of prognosis.
Avatar n tn After several different trials, I am now taking 5 mg bystolic and no lisinopril and my body seems to have adjusted. While I am overweight, I did not gain any additional weight as others have mentioned. I am also not exhausted. I recently had blood work so we will see if it had some kind of effect on my cholesterol as others have had. I hope not. It was interesting to hear that someone else had the heavy legs because my doc seemed surprised that I had that as a side effect.
Avatar f tn You should definitely tell your doctor you are having some really bad side effects tfrom the bystolic and ask him to switch your medication. There are plenty of other meds and if you did fine on the atenolol I would ask about going back to that.
Avatar m tn My concern is that this situation will persist, and levels of exercise that used to be easy to recover from will result in so much fatigue and pain that they will no longer be worth doing. SO my FIRST QUESTION is: Is this type of recovery problem to be expected as a side effect of coreg, and can I expect this side effect to decrease over time or not? A few days ago my cardiologist said test showed I incurred no damage during the recent attack.
Avatar m tn I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16. Now – I have been off the Bystolic since June 16, but all of the symptoms that developed when I started taking the Bystolic have not gone away yet, nor has my blood pressure risen.
Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
