I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
The tachycardia is bad enough that I take bystolic 1.25 mg daily. If I didnt I would have days were just sitting up in bed could make my heart beat faster. Going for a walk could make my heart race really fast. So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic.
I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing.
Similar to the reactions a person with high blood pressure, would have to say a decongestant. That question was never answered. However, he handed me bystolic 5mg samples, and said to take them for the PAT. If anyone could answer my question about the medication reactions I would appreciate it. I also would like to know if it's wise for me to be taking the bystolic. I do not have, nor have I ever had blood pressure problems.
My Doctor game me a months worth of Bystolic, which is a beta blocker. My resting heart beat is @ 48-52 and up moving around it is @ 60. I work out two- three times a week, lifting and cardio. I am a very strong 55 yr old, in really good shape. A muscular 230 lbs.
My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow?
I was diagnosed 3 years ago with PSVT 10,000 extra a day, felt a lot of them and drove me nutso. I felt it was from heavy exercise over the previous year or chemical fumes I would breathe on occasion. Dr. wanted to do an ablation, I refused and thought let my heart mend since I had no structural issues, all electrical. I put my feet up and relaxed.
What could be causing this? Could it be the bystolic? My former doc put me on bystolic because it is not suppose to caused ED issues. Could it be psychological reasons i'm having ED? A combination of both psychological reasons and the Bystolic?
It is hard for me to imagine that my ED would be due to low testosterone or some physiological cause. I am in excellent shape and after all I am young (27).
I get health insurance through my new employer February 1st. of this year.
My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again.
My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
t really have an answer for you except that my doctor haas placed me on bystolic for my tachycardia. My resting is not scary high but it is elevated and my exercise induced is extremely high and once it gets over 175 it takes about 90 minutes to drop to 100. Anyway I guess my point is definately ask your doctor what they think, and like Susie said I think it depends where the tachycardia is occuring. Anyway good luck to you.
I have a 20% efraction rate recently received a ICD ... Bystolic and diabetic, Hypertension meds... I am tired all the time and have not been given a real idea of prognosis.
I have tried atenolol, but makes me sooooo tired, I am also tired on Bystolic not as much. Could the Bystolic be causing circulatory problems? No edema to feet or ankles but, some to medial knees. Thank you.

I need some serious help here as I am having significant problems and the doctors don't seem to know what is wrong with me. I started taking Bystolic 5mg in early September of this year due to palpitations and an abnormally high resting heart rate. They can't find any cause with testing.
I had a heart attack and quad bypass 18 years ago, and recovered completely. 5 weeks ago I had a mild heart attack and received a stent in the one veinous graft (the 3 arterial grafts were perfectly clear). I have been placed on plavix and 6.25mg 2x/day of carvedilol - and the side effects of carvedilol is my concern.
First is the feeling of lightheadedness, which was severe at first, but still remains.
I also felt bad joint pain and gained a significant amount of weight during the month I was on Bystolic (about 10 to 15 pounds). I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16.
My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
My doctor just recommend a new med called nebivolol (bystolic) to me thst im pretty hesitant to try as propranolol does help Most out of what ive tried. The nebivolol bystolic didnt get the besr reviews from what ive seen. thats just my experiences and what things have worked and not worked for me on an individual basis.
I feel some of my pvcs are caused by anxiety,some by exercise or increase in working out and some by large meals.

I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
I exercise strenuously at least 5 days a week--both bicycling and swimming, typically an hour at a time, although one bike ride a week might be 35 miles in 2+ hours. My heart rate during peak effort is typically over 100% of my predicted maximum HR. I noticed recently that while my heart rate came down rapidly when I stopped exercising, it never went back to normal, but stayed about 20 bpm above normal.
