Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic hypertension

bystolic

Avatar f tn I know that you have a nursing background but there are some hypertension specialists forum that mention that bystolic has been around in europe for a while and it is a good choice for those who cannot tolerate beta blockers. Blockers are not first choice treatment for hypertension but bystolic is okay, so a bit puzzled with your comment. And as you may know some people find a substantial decrease in panic and anxiety attacks when their hypertension is brought under control.
Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.

Avatar n tn What could be causing this? Could it be the bystolic? My former doc put me on bystolic because it is not suppose to caused ED issues. Could it be psychological reasons i'm having ED? A combination of both psychological reasons and the Bystolic? It is hard for me to imagine that my ED would be due to low testosterone or some physiological cause. I am in excellent shape and after all I am young (27). I get health insurance through my new employer February 1st. of this year.
Avatar m tn I am on four medications: Bystolic (40 mg / day), Hytrin (12 mg / day), Benicar (40 mg /day), and Clonidine (2 / day). I started only on Inderal 20 years ago to control mild hypertension and paroxysmal tachycardia. History of possible Lyme Disease otherwise nothing remarkable. A year ago I started having wildly fluctuation hypertension (normally 120/70 went to 240/115 in seconds - repeatedly with no pattern, no identifiable triggers).
Avatar m tn My main question is how low can your heart rate get and still be safe? I'm afraid to take a beta block for my hypertension because my hr at night gets as low as 55 without them. I'm 24 years old I have hypertension, I'm active/normal weight I also have LVH from my hypertension. Would it be safe for me to take this beta blocker bystolic My doctor has prescribed me? He said it wouldn't lower it much but from the posts I've seen they do. Thoughts?
Avatar m tn I also felt bad joint pain and gained a significant amount of weight during the month I was on Bystolic (about 10 to 15 pounds). I researched Bystolic and found that all these symptoms occur in other people who take Bystolic, and so I decided to get off of it (with the permission of the other doctors). I gradually weaned off of the medicine over a period of a little over two weeks. I stopped taking it on June 16.

Avatar f tn I have been battling hypertension for the past few years. I just had an angioplasty with stent placement done, and was discharged from the hospital with a blood pressure of 200/124 - insane! Avatar m tn //www.blood-pressure-monitoring.org/white-coat-hypertension.htm Another thing to think about, taking multiple readings just moments apart will tend to get higher and higher readings if you are anxious about your BP, so don't do it. Just one reading per day at approx the same time. Only your doctor can diagnose you with high BP after three separate reading that are many days apart. Since you have had many tests, did he give you any reason to believe you have high BP?
Avatar m tn I am about 20-25 pounds overweight, but I have an athletic frame. I have hypertension and my glucose is slightly high at around 110-115. I currently take 2 types of Hypertension medicine. My cardiologist changed one of my medications in early July. That's when I think my current symptoms started.

A few days later started with hypertension , pain in head, pounding heart. during day and at night feeling low shaky cold etc. My urine output is definitely decreased. and feel I am still very hypothyroid. Avatar m tn Thinking that something must trigger them I alternately stop doing push-ups. wts, alcohol consumption. My VA doctor who I see very seldomly raised my hypertension medicine (lisinipril) from 10 to 20mg. I though it increased the frequency of my PVC's and have cut back to 10. I have been on lisinpril for 5 years and wonder is it this medicine which started the PVC's.

Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?

I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
