I would be careful with antibiotics. I went through a year of alternating BV/Yeast infections. The antibiotics for the BV would kill off all the bacteria, including the good bacteria which would then cause a yeast infection.
What worked for me was to irrigate my vagina with hydrogen peroxide 3% (the kind you can buy off the shelf at the drug store). I would just get a syringe and fill it up and insert it vaginally and release it.
My dog was throwing up (looked like human food- I hve no idea where he got it from) and having diarrhea. The vet gave him amforol among penicillin and steroid injection. We took x-rays and the vet said he had imflammatory bowel disease. Since then he's stopped vomitting but still having diarrhea. Now he's on metronidazole. I've read around that metro will help only temporary and that it could cause liver damage.
Has anyone had this problem and will metronidazole fix his problem?
Most like the odor is coming from a yeast infection but you should go get it checked out to make sure and the can treat you for whatever it is
So having experienced all the million stomach disorders in dogs, I would opt for a single novel protein diet, Tylan instead of Metronidazole (you can buy it in bulk at KVvet supply and put it in empty capsules), test for Giardia (use the blood test), and ask for Pred.
If the dog is allergic to certain proteins, the very last thing I would give is Chicken, beef, and maybe fish.
I think you will be ok if you took 6 days of it. Although Keep in mind, if you do it for like 2 or 3 days and stop, it might give it a chance of resitance to it, and it will be uneffective.
I was given metronidazole to treat Bacterial Vaginosis for twice a day for 5 days, it worked within the 2-3 day the odor cleared up, no itching nothing, however after i finished what i was prescribed to take, i started to have dryness and was itching again , i have phoned the GUM and im not happy with the responce I had as they gave no help or information , but told me to wait until my other results come back for sti's, I dont understand because the treatment has worked but now that ive fini
My 10 year old blue healer had a bad reaction to Clavomox that was given to her for a leg cut. After about 5 days of taking this, she was barely alive (we watched her get very lethargic but she would get better during the day and then go downhill at night). We took her to a new vet where she was put on IVs and eventually got mostly better but a week later was very weak and was limping pretty bad.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

I was prescried with Metronidazole + Miconazole Nitrate vaginal suppository for 7 days. However, I am yet to know if I'm pregnant or not. It's still too early to determine. Will it be safe?

I wanted to take a prenatal with the dha in it but I needed special prenatals for constipation. I buy special supplements during breastfeeding for brain development and after a year old I buy supplements that you put in yogurt that are for brain development. Hopefully they make up for me not taking it during pregnancy. I normally do all three if I remember.
Ok so i have been taking fish oil pills for over 6 months as well as lipitor for the last 3 months. My cholesterol is much better now but my TRIs continue to be between 250 and 300 this is making my vldl between 40 and 60. The lipitor brought it down from between 450 and 600. My doctor told me to continue the fish oil and retest in 3 months. Have you guys heard fo Flaxseed oil pills? Someone told me to try taken that instead of the fish oil and see if it helps.. What are your thoughts?
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
... oh, and if you want to take fish oil you should make sure that you buy one that says "molecularly distilled" on the bottle - this way any trace amounts of mercury, etc. will have been removed.
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
