Avatar n tn I was on amitriptiline for 7 years and I am also taking 10-20 mg just for a week till the budeprion kicks in and then I will be off of amitriptiline. That was a real weight gainer medicine, I would have never gained 30 pounds if I had never been on that stuff. It was a good medicine if it was for the weight gain. I felt good on it and it helped me sleep.
Avatar m tn Budeprion XL is giving me extreme anxiety and racing heart. Have been on it for about a month.i am also on Escitraprolam. How can I taper off the budeprion XL. Was thinking of starting by 1 every other day for a while, then every third day and so on.
Avatar n tn Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.
886624 tn?1241714264 Also should have said that my doc has started me on 300mg xl rather than the 150mg that I have read most people start on. Could that make any side affects worse than if I would have started on the lower dose? Any responses would be appreciated.
1868532 tn?1320173057 I took Wellbutrin 150 for about a year and did not gain weight. I went up to 300 in May and still have not gained all the weight back from my last anxiety attack. So in my case, no it does not make me gain weight.
Avatar n tn ) All in all, if you want to try this for quitting smoking I say go for it! If you want to try Wellbutrin XL for anxiety and depression, I say go another way. Ask for other options. What I have been feeling like for the past week is definitely not worth it. (I am out of work so I have been lucky not having to worry about these "side effects" affecting my work performance. Katie IF THIS POST SEEMS TO BOUNCE ALL OVER THE PLACE OR DOESN'T READ TO WELL, I APOLOGIZE.
863754 tn?1239144755 First off... Hi everyone and thanks for making such a great site! My aunt's doctor gave her Budeprion SR 150 mg to help quit smoking. A friend of her's told her that you're not supposed to take it, if you take any medications for diabetes. She does take a pill (not sure which and didn't think to ask her) for her diabetes and I told her I'd try to find out if it could cause any problems.
Avatar f tn My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...
Avatar f tn So i'm 12 weeks and after smoking roughly 10-15 cigarettes a day before I got pregnant, i'm down to one or two a day. I was told that quitting cold turky would be worse for my baby (especially dealing with depression and anxiety) so even though I've cut down and plan on quitting some time this week, could there be any significant damage done to my baby? I'm really worried and wish I just would have quit when I first found out..
Avatar f tn Congratulations on quitting smoking! One of the biggest issues with smoking during pregnancy is low birth weight babies. You've stopped at a time when babies really start picking up their weight. That occurs over the last several weeks, so you are giving your baby a good chance of picking up weight and being born at a more healthy weight.
Avatar n tn Are there any antidepressants that will make me more alert rather than sleepy and tired? This has been my experience with all the drugs I've tried so far. Budeprion being the last one and the worse cause it makes me so sleepy and lethargic, yeah too often I find myself sitting there as if lifeless, staring into space, feeling like a rock with no feelings or emotions...Are there any drugs that will give me more pep and energy instead of making me just wanna stay in bed all day?
Avatar n tn I have been on sr 150 for two months now and just switched to xl 300 as the sr was not doing anything for me. Should I be expecting a change for the better or are they the same?
806553 tn?1238141780 Quitting is so difficult and that is why it's important to prepare for it. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she suggests and then read those articles at whyquit. I know I keep talking about this website, and I only do because it has helped so many, me also, and I think it has a lot to offer regardless if you choose to go cold turkey or use an aid. The bottom line is that there is no magic pill and you will be stressed and angry no matter what.
Avatar f tn I got pregnant in aug .. and quit smoking in January. .. I had no urges to smoke but for some reason now I dream about smoking .. almost every night. Idk ita weird ans a hard habbit to kick. But you can do it. !
Avatar f tn Good for you on quitting. You said you smoked for over 30 years so it will take time for your lungs to improve. You should go see a pulmonary doctor to rule out COPD/Emphysema and asthma. The doctor will give you a breathing test to see if this may be affecting your breathing. If so, proper treatment can get it under control. I found quitting cold turkey worked best for me. No patches or meds as this just makes it harder to cleanse yourself from nicotine.
Avatar m tn ive been smoking cigarettes for almost 10 years. ive managed to quit a few times. but only for a month at the most. i keep reading about ways to quit online, and i keep reading that its best to quit cold turkey instead of slowly and gradually. i always try the nicotine patches. they do wonderful for the first couple of weeks. but then i still get cravings that just get stronger and stronger. but if i try cold turkey, its completely hopeless. I'll be smoking in a couple hours, if that.
Avatar n tn I quit smoking 3 days ago ,is it normal to have heart palpitations from quitting??
Avatar n tn I am a newly graduated nurse however, and during maternity class we were taught if a mother was really struggling with quitting smoking, to wean herself off slowly. I would talk to you r doctor about it. They are not there to judge you, only to help. Smoking can be harmful to your baby, but you understand that, or you wouldn't be making an effort to quit. If I were you, try smoking the least amount as possible and try to wean off completely. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I'm sure everyone's different of course. I've smoked for 9 years now. And my doctor told me defiantly don't quit cold turkey. It can cause a miscarriage. As the previous person said. I cut back a lot but have continued smoking this whole pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks now. And my baby girl is healthy and a big baby! After smoking for 1 year, I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my first at 6 weeks. She was born healthy at 39 weeks 6 days.
Avatar f tn You may also want to discuss your fiance quitting too, because not only is that tempting for you, it's TERRIBLE for him (I don't know about you, but I'm a freak about my husbands health, I want him to be as healthy as he can be, just like myself and his children) but it can increase the chance of SIDS when the baby is born, just second hand smoke.
