Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.

Well, I quit smoking, I am in therapy for the depression, and I have made some lifestyle changes (healthier diet, regular exercise) to help with my fatigue. I wish to stop taking the Wellbutrin, but I am on the lowest dose. How do I stop taking it without suffering withdrawal symptoms?

My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...

That's how much I take each day. My hair is falling out. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to stop taking it because it has helped me quit smoking, gives more energy, and I've lost 20 pounds already. BUT, my hair (on my scalp) is falling out/thinning. WHAT TO DO?

) For those who are recommended by their doctors to try Wellbutrin XL to quit smoking, I say go for it! Yesterday I only had 2 1/2 cigarettes in 24 hours. Today I have only smoked the other half that I didn't finish yesterday. (It is just about 6pm now and I have been awake since 10.) All in all, if you want to try this for quitting smoking I say go for it! If you want to try Wellbutrin XL for anxiety and depression, I say go another way. Ask for other options.

Has anyone tryed to quit smoking using wellbutrin? Im going to the DR's in the morning to get a script for it. If you have used it to quit, please let me know if it works. The worst thing that could happen is I wouldnt be depressed anymore.............

Currently, I take them both in the morning and I feel myself kinda shifting back and forth between feeling focused and awake or tired and dizzy and I want to know if it would be better to just take the Wellbutrin in the morning and the Lexapro at night? Like, would that change anything or does it matter?

I took Wellbutrin XL 300 mg for a number of years. Last year I was given effexor with the Wellbutrin. I was also taking Topomax, 25 mg twice a day. I have since slowly weaned off all three because of the combined side effects. I lost weight very rapidly, started twitching, had anxiety, etc. I am now taking nortriptyline with dry mouth being the only significant side effect. You should not stop Wellbutrin without weaning. It can cause "brain zaps" which can be quite painful.

Whenever I try a new drug for symptoms,I always have bad side affects which make me nervous starting anything different. My question is,my Dr. wants me to ween off Wellbutrin XL 300 to WellbutrinXL 150mg for 14 days and to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 14 days at the same time.Then to increase Cymbalta 60 mg daily and stop Wellbutrin. I've read a lot about Cymbalta and don't know if I should do this.

I switched from Paxil 75mg, with no weight gain or appetite to Wellbutrin 300 XL with uncontrolled appetite and the inability to feel satiety after eating which has led to mild weight gain. Wellbutrin has been a nightmare for me this last year but I'm not willing to go back on Paxil and possibly subject myself to the torture of withdrawing from it again. I'm lacking options at this point on what to do. The Wellbutrin has worsened my sleep disorder.

I am not a health nut, i am wanting to find out taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg. it is twice a day, i take for depression and hope to help on stop smoking and lossing weight and the Tramadol(not prescribed for me) 50mg taking for pain and hope weight loss. I went from brands name Wellbutrin SR 150 mg once a day, which made me energized and active, to brand name Wellbutrin XL 300 mg once a day. Now I am sleepy, lethargic and there is no buzz or energy at all. What's up??

I took Wellbutrin 150 for about a year and did not gain weight. I went up to 300 in May and still have not gained all the weight back from my last anxiety attack. So in my case, no it does not make me gain weight.

As for taking the Wellbutrin to stop smoking, how is lung cancer for a reason? Wellbutrin has been very effective for me to stop smoking and continue to stop smoking. I have had one lobe of my lung removed. I think it is well worth the risks and even the side effects. I am hoping that this subsides. I am reading and finding that a lot of the side effects come and go. This didn't start until I was on the medication for over 6 months.

Wellbutrin XL 300mg is wimpy... Ive been taking it for 4 years and they have had to up it 5 times. If you tell your dr that you do not feel it working they will either up your dose or try something new. For me I did not like the side effects or the feeling while taking wellbutrin. This commonly would be considered a good thing but its to drastic of a change all at once. I take 40mg prozac,300 wellbutrin xl,xanax and adderol and it never effected my nicotine intake. I find that smoking causes me to shake my leg alot which is really unattractive in my eyes because in a social setting i seem almost anxious when im not my nerves just feel shot. I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.

That being said, I am feeling quite good these days, back to a daily exercise routine, healthy eating, etc. I decided to stop taking the 300 mg/day of Wellbutrin about 5 days ago. Does anyone know how lexapro is? I will be paying almost as much as the wellbutrin xl, which i am willing to do to feel better. Do I have to slowly get off of the celexa and make the switch to wellbutrin or can i just switch the next day?

My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks? I've taken Wellbutrin before for a bad depression and know that it makes a person more energetic but also jittery at times. Any advice? Could I combine Lexapro 10 mg with the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg? You posted that you don't remember WB doing anything but stop smoking. (I am wondering now if you were referring to your personal experience and tried to use it to both stop smoking which worked and anxiety/depression which didn't work for you. Correct?) Perhaps I misunderstood your post because 41 minutes ago you are posting that SSRI are used for anxiety and depression, so you are actually agreeing with me.

t have my psychiatrist anymore) has decided to ADD Pristiq to my Wellbutrin, and in 3 months wants to wean me off my klonopin. She seems to really be against the klonopin, she has attempted to take me off that before with Seroquel, but the Seroquel had side affects I didn't like so stopped it, and stayed on the klonopin. I am concerned about the Pristiq. Is it going to cause sexual side affects?

Started wellbutrin XL 150mg at the beginning of december, it is now basically january and no period. My last period was on Nov. 17th, and on December 18th this month i had one tiny blood spot, and that was it. Pregnancy is highly doubtful, and 3 pregnancy tests say negative. I've had regular periods all my life. This drug needs to be evaluated again to list this side effect of missed periods/irregular periods.

I am currently taking 400mg XL of Wellbutrin, one upon rising and one 3-4 hours later and then at night I take 50mg Zoloft. I would like ot have a weaning off of the wellbutrin schedule and eventually the zoloftor both at the same time if possible. They seem to help for awhile and then not anymore and I can't afford to keep paying for them.

m on 225 reg. Wellbutrin. The XL, extended release tablets stayed in my system long into the evening strong and kept me from being able to sleep well. I take it first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up.
