My 6 yr old female cat jumped from a tree branch about 5 ft high. She is always jumping up onto ledges or down from them, she jumps very high, always climbing trees, etc. Anyway, her front paw is now swollen and she will not walk on it, she limps all around. She does not seem to be in pain, she still goes up and down the steps and jumps on and off the furniture and beds, going to the food dish etc.
I was helping to put a ceiling up and I had to push it towards middle of room. I am only 115 lbs and 5"2, little boned. Anyway, when I did try to use my hand as a hammer, lol, my thumb went all the way back and I heard a crack/crunch. The pad around my thumb is swollen 3x's its size and my fingers are all swollen. I did this 2 days ago and have faithfully kept ice on it. Now where your life line would be on my hand it is black and blue and swelling is still there.

About a week ago he took a fall from our room while chasing squirles., Well the LEG was slightly swollen for just a little while. Maybe day and half. but then he was fine. walking,jumping, and chasing those dang squirles again. lol
I thought he was fine. Well today I get home from work and his poor leg and paw r so swollen. Im afraid he has broken it.
i am still having trouble with it the pain behind my knee is awfull and i have had pain on the ball of my foot and i hav noticed it is slightly swollen aroun my ankle and ball of foot what could this be
just like kristine said is it discolored? if it is you need to see a doctor. is it swollen. could be nerves, but could also be dvt deep vein thrombosis. probably didn't spell that right. i had the same problem kinda, and they said it could be my heart or broken blood vesils. could also be a lots of things. but if it is a different color or if it is swollen, go to the doctor better to be safe than sorry. if you don't have insurance got to the emergency room, they will have to see you.
I thought I only sprained my ankle two weeks ago, but above my ankle I keep getting a sharp pain like a foreign object is in there stabbing me every step I take. My leg is swollen about an inch larger than my other, but the swelling goes down overnight. Within a couple of hours of hobbling around the next day, even with it wrapped with the ace bandage, my leg swells again. I haven't seen a doctor.
After my first ablation I did have some pain in the right groin and down the right leg, possibly due to some bruising of a nerve. It hurt to bend and to sit. When I did sit, I stretched my leg way out in front of me to relieve some of the discomfort. Some people even end up with a large hematoma after an ablation but it eventually resolves itself.
I'm glad to hear that he was checked out at the hospital for clots. Smart move. Also glad to hear they didn't find any.
The usual period for healing is around 6-8 weeks, but lower leg fractures take a little more to recover. The initial one week period is also taken into account.
Follow up is advised every two weeks to see whether alignment is proper or not. In case of misalignment found at any point of treatment surgery might be necessary.

so my docter did surgery one year later, he took the nail out of my leg and replaced it with a plate and and screws, during surgery he broke my fibula to get the plate in place. i dont no why he did it but my tibia feels alot better and now my fibula is broken, my question is has anyone ever had a corrective surgery on there tibia and had there fibula broken. And how long does it take for the fib to heal and am i screwed ? i dont know what to do.
I'm 21 old had a severe injury to my left leg tibia & fibula in motor bike accident got hit a lorry.. Broken Tibia bone came out making a hole in my skin, i had lost blood... Then i has surgery after 12 hrs, with a rod & 2 nails inserted only for Tibia, but they did nothing to broken fibula...
Now after 11 months, I'm walking normally but still i cant run, jump & unable to climb stairs quickly...

Hi everyone. I'm new to the website but thought it may be a great place to ask my question. Okay, so here's the situation. 8 years ago while crossing the street I was struck by a car driven by a drunk driver.
t need surgery and my bone was repositioned and i was put in a cast. I had my sixteenth birthday with a cast on my right leg and i have had to cancel my driving test as i can't drive with a cast on. I will be with a full walking cast for another 2 weeks (its been 5) and then i will have a short walking cast for another 3 weeks. How long after that can i drive again and also how long until i play soccer. I will be going to physical therapy.
I read your post & started crying. I contracted Hep C back when I was a heroin Iv user. Clean now since 08'. I went through interferon in 2010 & I figured I was in the clear, but the last 3 years I've been experiencing severe swelling in my legs, feet, & hands. My doctor kept sweeping it under the rug & even suggested I had just gained weight, he just gave me lasix.
I had a hair follicle on my lower leg that was inflammed and appeared that the hair was starting to ingrow. I then removed the hair without breaking the skin and thought that the follicle would settle down.
However 2 days later the srea has become swollen and inflammed amd very sore to touch. What can i do to help this?

My kitten fell off a shelf and twisted his leg about four days ago and he is behaving normally with the exception of being a bit off balance and some limping. However, his shoulder that he twisted is swelling and it doesn't seem to be going down. Is there anything I can do to help the swelling?

My husband broke his pinky finger I believe at the knuckle about 8 days ago. He really didnt think it was broken so he didnt go get an X-ray. My son has had a broken pinky before & it looks very similar to how my son's looked. My husband is being stubborn saying the break is 8 days out & there is nothing that can be done now. Is that true? Its causing him pain still & is still pretty swollen. He ices it & takes motrin but i dont think thats enough. Please advise!
