On 18 APR 2010, my little girl was in a 4 wheeler accident. The nose end of the vehicle landed on her right lower leg, crushing the Tibia and Fracturing the Fibula. She was Med-Flighted the 40+ miles to Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children in Alabama. I would have preferred that she had been flown to UAB in Birmingham, Alabama but she was losing a lot of blood, so good thinking on behalf of the Med Flight Crew. suffered broken ankle in May 2010. Had surgery with plate and screws to fix. 2 weeks no weight bareing, 8 + weeks in camwalker boot - weight bearing as tolerated. Then moved to right ankle element brace and cane. Have completed 2 sessions of PT. Have chronic pain i ... [More] n foot/ankle with every step I take. Both my foot/leg are still swollen and discolored. Taking pain meds daily. Recently returned to work (4 hours per day sitting).
It just needs 15 days including surgery, later you can walk normally but its not suggested to kick start a bike with the leg for at least a month of time.

Rod(nail) can be kept in for life long but plates have to be removed after two years of time is what doctor told me when i approached a Orthopedic specialist to remove the nail.
For eight to nine months subsequent to this, my husband did not have any problem except increased heart beat even when he was relaxed and at rest since december 2010 which was reported to the Doctor, but the ‘symptom’ was termed as normal and nothing to worry as such.
In the last week of May 2011, my husband again complained of breathlessness and had to be hospitalised on 31/05/2011 with “severe LV Dysfunction (EF – 30%)”.
I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone.
He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
Felt a gush of fluid so i stood up and it all ran down my leg. While walking to the bathroom it continued to drip. Made it to the hospital and the first test she did said it wasnt my water!!!

beofore two days i have made a safe sex with a sex worker(HIV status dont know), i have used condom but when incert more condom did broken just after 5-6 sec when i out my panis i noticed the condom is broken and left the sex, there was no wet or blood mark on my panish it was fully dry. insteed i have clean all around by hot water.
Now from last two days i am vey anexious about that things. can i be infacted by HIV?
Please help me what i have to do.
Consequently this was done again in Dec 2010. Was advised to stay on 2 crutches for 12 weeks due to x-ray results showing some linings. Rehab in pool went well, swimming laps, and in March 2011 was told to dispense with both crutches. Discarding one crutch, within a couple of weeks the femur broke just below the tip of the prosthesis ( no incident), A 10 inch plate was inserted. Rehab was on track as of before, with one crutch being used for August.
Has anyone broken their pelvis during pregnancy? I broke mine in a car accident years ago and never had any problems with my first baby. This baby dropped at 28wks and my dr says he is almost certain this baby has broken it again. I'm scheduled for csection next week, which is a huge relief with the pain, but he said it could take 6-12wks to heal. Was wondering what other peoples experience was? Did it get better after delivery?
my son had nenmonia which led to ostomialitus and a broken leg. this was all eighteen months ago.
he is now 3 and a half years old but still walks with a very stiff leg and can not walk up and down stairs with out putting his hand on his knee to use as a support or for leaverage.
he has recovered his muscle lost which happened due to his broken leg.
His pediatrition has no answer to this stiffness, walking issue...

Has anyone broken their Tibia and fibia? I broke mine two years ago and am still having problems. I have a plate and eleven screws. I am thinking of having them taken out in the hopes that it will releive some of the discomfort. Any information from someone who has done this would be great.
Hi about a year ago while i was doing jumping jacks i pulled a muscle in my left leg now i have a pain in my inner groin, when i step a certain way or try to do any jumping exercises.
I put ice on it for 20 minutes and kept the leg elevated during this time. The pain was localized to the area of the broken skin. A few days later, a scab formed where the skin was broken, and although the area still hurt when pressed, I had no problems walking, jogging or swimming.
Five days after the injury though, my left knee cap began to hurt. There was even a tingling sensation from above the knee cap down to the shin (left lateral).
I would also try to straighten it out throughout the day by putting it in my left pant leg between my pants and my leg. Anyway... it still works fine now it just has a slight curvature to the left. My question is could there still be complications associated with the fracture or do you think I'm fine? Also do you think it's possible that my penis did not fully develop to it's full potential size due to the fracture?
