Last night we opened our backdoor to find a stray kitty (adolescent male). I noticed he was malnourished and gave him some milk and chicken (all I had for an animal). Then I noticed he was favoring one leg. I think it might be broken! I've called a few places and no one wants to deal with him, of course. They're just going to want to euthanize him instead of help him.
So my question is this--- what do I do?!?!?!?!
I was in a half cast, basically on the back of my leg and below the foot for a touch over a week, so I was unable to move my ankle and leg and was on crutches. Then 2 days ago I went to the outpatients department and the doc took the cast off me and told me to start walking on it with the aid of crutches as it isn't the weight bearing bone.
He said that the bone will heal by itself without the cast and even with me putting a bit of pressure on it.
If there was blood and the dog got saliva in the blood in your leg (if the skin was broken) you are at risk. But, you can call the police and have them make the guy monitor the dog for 10 days for symptoms and call the animal control about it. They will tell him the symptoms to look for in the dog. Can you determine that the leg isn't broken? Will he let you move the leg at the hip joint? If he isn't acting like he is in severe pain, will eat and drink. I would try keeping him quiet and only take him out to potty. You know your dog best so you would have to make a judgement call as to if he needs the Vet.

just a bit of advice: just like it's a girl's responsibility to make sure that the guy she's sleeping with uses a condom, it's generally a good idea for a guy to make sure that the girl he's sleeping with is using a primary form of birth control (the pill, the shot, the ring or the patch) so that combining her method with your condom makes the chances of pregnancy or STDs very very low.

I was tested about 1 month ago and came up with weird results. I had a positve anitbody test cut off of 2.34.
Shaking and unable to walk IS severe pain.....I agree w/Margot, the leg needs to be seen by a Vet....If the cut is indeed this bad, infection will set in quickly because it's impossible to keep an ankle clean.....
If left untreated, this could lead to a bone infection which you DON"T want.....Very dangerous!!!!
Get to the Vet ASAP and get the wound cleaned/Sutured if needed & him on antibiotics...I would also ask for some pain medication for a few days.......
Has anyone broken their pelvis during pregnancy? I broke mine in a car accident years ago and never had any problems with my first baby. This baby dropped at 28wks and my dr says he is almost certain this baby has broken it again. I'm scheduled for csection next week, which is a huge relief with the pain, but he said it could take 6-12wks to heal. Was wondering what other peoples experience was? Did it get better after delivery?
