Blood glucose test in india

Common Questions and Answers about Blood glucose test in india

Avatar n tn By reusing a glucose test strip they would not get an accurate read on your blood glucose because blood from the previous test would still be on the strip. That fact is common knowledge regardless of what country you are in so despite your suspicions I still do not think you have any cause for concern. If you consult with the hospital who perfomed the test I'm sure they will explain in detail why they cannot resuse test strips.
Avatar m tn Post all results here in the forum. So other members, especially members from India in general and from north India in particular can use it. Take care..
Avatar f tn "My Ac1 was originally 5.7 and the last time it was checked it was 6.2. When I do a 2hr after eating test I'm ok." This is a puzzling statement. An A1c of 6.2% is equivalent to 131 mg/dl daily glucose average. Sometime during the day your levels are not OK, or your meter is need of calibration and/or test strips are not within their expiration period. "I snack late and may eat nuts, yougurt, or sugar free coffee.
Avatar f tn 3 weeks I've been to a shopping mall in the place I live in India. There was a health check up stand/outlet. They're doing basic BMI, haemoglobin, blood glucose, blood cholesterol etc tests. They're using handheld machines which give instant results. I've (being very stupid, now I feel so) thought of checking my cholesterol. The lady at the counter pierced my finger with a prick ( used a new needle) and collected my blood into a small tube (a few ml) and poured it into the test machine.

If you have metabolic syndrome or any of the warning signs of metabolic syndrome, it's highly likely you need to make some major lifestyle changes. Making these changes can delay or prevent the development of more-serious disease. What causes metabolic syndrome?

Avatar n tn Since my tests came back that would suggest I have a medical problem I was denied participation in the medical research test. Part of the agreement in this medical research test is that I can get copies of my medical records to forward on to my doctor, but they do not provide me with medical diagnosis. Its kind of a weird how it works. If accepted into the test they pay you very well for little effort, but other than financial compensation they really provide nothing.
798555 tn?1292791151 I posted this in 2010........ I now know holy basil does indeed lower blood glucose as I have tested it in the AM fasting many times now (bought a cheap meter). Only issue is HB is kind of hard on the stomach. Dont like burping HB two hours after taking it.

798555 tn?1292791151 History: I posted here in the past, as my fasting glucose was between 100-110 for almost 2 years, per clinic testing. Ac1 was OK but showed a pattern of increasing to the upper part of the acceptable range. So I took action when Drs did not seem to be interested in being pro active. That is the problem with western medicine....wait till its too late. The last few clinic tests showed fasting glucose in the 90's, and my new glucose meter just showed 93 this morning, looking much better.
Avatar m tn As tom_h mentioned, buy yourself a home glucose test meter. Test before bedtime and then first thing in morning before eating or drinking any colored liquids. If you go to bed with high levels you will surely awaken with high levels.
Avatar n tn I made some changes to my diet, started walking almost every day, made sure that I was drinking water more frequently and upon a friend's suggestion stopped taking the pill for diabetes. In the subsequent two blood test over a period of six months, my sugar levels were normal. During my next visit, I confessed to the doctor I stopped taking the diabetes pill. The doctor was not overly surprised and was happy that my sugar levels were under control.

Avatar n tn I am from india. As i ran out of test strip , I Just went to lab near me my house for testing blood sugar . The charged me 20RS and they said that it would take half an hour to give result . I thought that it would be instantaneous, they said they don't use glucose meter and strips . Avatar f tn I did have a drainage tube for about a week, and I would recommend to anyone having the procedure to leave it in for AT LEAST that long, because there's a TON of blood and water that comes out post-op and I would think it would be extremely painful to have all that swell up inside. I went through countless little glass vacuum tubes in a week, each holding between 6-10 cc's. The reason I was searching was because I was wondering what others' recovery experiences have been. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I had fecal leukocytosis and and occult blood on several occasions but most recently, in the past couple of months, this test has been normal (always a bonus). The most CBCs have shown that my white count has not been recently elevated, and there's been no eosinophilia throughout the years (I remember looking closely at that because of the relationship of eosinophilia to things like Strongyloides stercoralis, which I came into contact with in Africa).
Avatar n tn dont know if this has any relavance but i have been having these symptoms, still waiting for nerve test but have had a blood test showing borderline underactive thyroid
Avatar n tn I had a hard time getting a referral to do a renal ultrasound, which I'm finally gong to do on Monday. All my requests to visit a urologist have been in vain, because in his opinion the blood and urine tests I did for the kidneys and the prostate came back OK and that's it as far as he is concerned.
Avatar m tn Pant Hospital in New Delhi, India, told delegates here at the International Liver Congress 2013. It is estimated that hepatic encephalopathy occurs in 30% to 45% of patients with cirrhosis, and the mortality rate is 20% to 30%. Because bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine leads to endotoxemia, the researchers reasoned that probiotics could prevent the condition.

Avatar n tn It doesn't look like you have a pure(over) diabetes but it can be simple impaired glucose tolorence which can be very well control with life style change, healthy eating plan and exercise. You need to check Renal function test, Oral glucose test and if possible urine analysis with microalbumin and A1c. What is you weight and height? Are you obese too?
Avatar f tn gave him medicines but he still complained about dizziness. Then I suggested dr. to check his glucose in blood it was 307 gm/dl... shocking. Then we visited an MD. who practices for both hypertension and diabetes. He checked ECG for my dad. Which was normal. He consumes 2 tablets for diabetes and 1 for hypertension. But some times he still complains about dizziness. I check his diabetes 2 times a week and blood pressure daily.

Avatar n tn My GYN had concerns about the discoloration on my thighs and neck [i am very pale everywhere else] in my early 20's but there was no clear diagnosis. Aside from the occasional standard blood tests, which revealed little, I ignored these symptoms and tried to manage my weight "the old fashioned way" because I could function and get by...until one day I couldn't. Now i feel like i'm trying to unravel a web. If you have slight discoloration or have just put on a few extra pounds...

Avatar m tn insulin based and probably associated with blood sugar metabolism problems). Keep in mind that a fasting glucose test is the last thing to go bad. So a glucose tolerance test can show a problem before that, or else a hemoglobin A1C. If you don't have an Fx of diabetes, that all seems less likely. For allergy, you'd normally try food elimination and see if things get better.
Avatar n tn occational increase in blood glucose levels and cholestrol from age of 25. High blood pressure (140/90) since a year, with medication BP is 130/90. And now consistent higher levels of glucose since april 2013, cholestrol is well within limits now. He had chicken pox in january 2013. he lost weight and muscle tone in may-june. There are no symptoms of diabetes at all. Is he diabetic or can i hope that reducing his anxiety problem can bring the glucose level to normal?
Avatar m tn I'm not certain of the health protocols in India regarding home glucose meter purchases. In the States they run around $10-15 American and can be found at most all drug/pharmacy stores. If you are uncertain call your doctor and ask him/her. Test first thing in morning [fasting] then 2-3 hours after a meal [postprandial]. The latter tells you how the foods you consumed affected your glucose levels. Avoid/restrict those that do.
