Also should add, treated with Cipro 500mg for 10 days and Biaxin 500mg for 21 days for sinus infection, during the time frame of possible std infection....would this cause a delay or would it actually cure the std infection, if there was one to begin with?

I had my tooth removed 2 days ago and have been sufferning (before extraction) with a cronich tooth infection that was only discovered by my new dentist as he drilled abit further into my tooth than the last dentist, he then told me that my tooth was dead, the infetion had killed it and he wanted to save the tooth.

tooth extracted....now white area...smellls....sore.......is this usual....flying on holiday in 2 days getting concerned..

they are cyst-busters. I was on biaxin for that purpose (along with another med to kill the bugs after they came out of the cyst), but had a reaction to it after several months; so the dr switched me to flagyl and a different antibiotic. It's a fair question why the dr would give you two cyst busters. Sounds like a lot. Good luck with the new job!! Sounds like a good one.

the doctor and I decided that I should try a differnt antibiotic so we switched to the Generic form of Biaxin.... Clarithromycin...... I was on it for 2 months and dropped 18 pounds and 3/4 of my hair..... we pulled out what was in the shower drain alone and you could of made a wig out of it pretty much...... the only other symptoms I had while on this medicine apart from the hair loss is that my hands would swell and night......I had excessive bruising all over.....

I had 2 women perform oral sex on me and about 2-3 months later I had a chest cold and my doctor gave me biaxin 2x500mg a day for 10 days. then a few months later had amoxicillian 3x500mg a day for 10 days for another unrelated infection (my docs loves to give antibiotics) If I did get a std like gonnerea or clymidia or anything else that is bacterial would the biaxin get rid of it?...keep in mind I have had no unprotested sexual intercourse just received oral from a women.

I am 3 months pregnant and am prone to sinus infections and it seems the only antibiotic that works for me is biaxin. I have a sinus infection now, is it safe to take biaxin 2 pills together for ten days?

3) WHen you comment on Biaxin...you say the normal dose for most infections would clear these infections...is 1g a day for 10 days a good dose or is a low dose?..I have only had it once so I am not sure what is considered a high or low dose. 4) as I have read 10% of men may have no symptoms...is it beleived that they do but maybe ignored?...IN your practice do you see pretty typical symptoms for gonnerhea? My husband has put it off and now with all of his recent, on going illness, we are wondering if this tooth and his chronic sinus infections are related. The tooth in question has had repeated fillings and a crown is currently in place. Any feedback would be appreciated. I would love to get my healthy husband back.

He gave me a prescription for biaxin, 2x a day for ten days. After doing some digging, I learned about oral gonorrhea. Could this possibly be what I have? And if so can it be cured by biaxin (antibiotic)?

I went to the dentist in June for severe pain around teeth 2 and 3. I was told I needed an RCT on #2. That was performed and the pain became worse. Had #2 re-treated and still worse. My dentist then told me I had some decay under the crown on #3 and maybe it had gotten into the tooth (had an RCT 6+years ago). Before my appt. to have that done my gums surrounding those teeth swelled up and began pusing. I had the treatment on #3 and the pain got even worse.

I was on Biaxin alone for 3mos and felt semi normal which for me is great. LLMD added Doxy and it has made all my symptoms come back worse than before. I want to quit the doxy but im told to just ride it out. I am wondering what exactly Doxy helps with? I kno biaxin helps with Bartonella for example. But what does Doxy do exactly for someone with late stage chronic lyme?

My LLMD is changing my antibiotic treatment to Omnicef and Biaxin for 3 more months. Mainly because he believes Flagyl was responsible for my hormone imbalance and I wasn't able to keep it down since I got the flu. Has anyone been treated with this combination? It's the first time I have hear about it, but I have taken these before for other infections and did just fine. I am hopeful since my CD57 has gone up from 23 to 56. However, my IgM results show more Lyme.

I will probably be safe with the clarith (and I know is also called biaxin, but thanks for pointing that out!). But tomorrow I will be talking with my doctor and thanks so much for this information, it is very helpful. Anyone ever notice that whenever they take Zithromax (azithromycin) that their asthma seems better? I did...I am on Zithromax chronically for my infections and for anti inflammatory reasons (atypical CF). Prior to being put on this over a year ago, I was wheezing every day it seemed and I had more coughing. It also seemed that my asthma component took more to control. After a few weeks on the stuff, I noticed that my symptoms actually improved.

I have a full exam scheduled for next week. My question is are these infections due to my knee surgery, can they effect my recovery of my knee surgery or are they just different problems although? I know they said infections can be very dangerous.

Ironically, a redness on my face would go from the corner of my eye to the sinus to the molar tooth area. I have a new doc and an appt for the 3rd of Dec. I am now on Amoxicillian 500mg. Its doing ok...but i am not that much better. I am curious what antibiotic people take the most? And what works. I have took Amoxicillian several times in the last year and a half. This is number 5 or 6. I am herxing tho over it, so that means its working i suspect.

Since I have gone back on Biaxin and Tindamax in the last week, I seem to hit a wall around 3pm and I can't keep my eyes open. I have taken an afternoon nap about 4 days out of 7. I am a terrible napper and rarely ever nap, even when I was at my sickest with Lyme. I guess it could be herxing from the meds, but I haven't had this in the past. I am wondering if these two drugs are particularly targeting cysts and spiros in my brain.

I also took biaxin for a throat problem a week ago. Doc gave me 500mg pills twice a day for 5 days. and I took them for 3 days then stopped for 2 day then finished the last 2 days after cause I found out that I have to do all of them. yesterday my tooth absessed i started keflex but when i woke up this morning my jaw is the size of a golf ball, i now have a sty and the sore on my arm that WAS almost healed drained infection from it and is now draining puss. i have an appointment to get the tooth pulled on march 7. what is wrong with me!
