Morphine (MS Contin, MSIR,
Avinza, Kadian, Oramorph, Roxanol, Kapanol), is a potent opiate analgesic medication and is considered to be the prototypical opioid. It is the "gold standard" in treating severe pain.
Morphine is found in opium, the dried sap derived from shallowly slicing the unripe seedpods of the opium, or common and/or edible, POPPY plant.
Natural Narcotics also called Non-Synthetic are derived from the poppy plant which includes Morphine.
