The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Just diagnosed with a 43% ejection fraction and my doctor prescribed Avapro. Is this the proper treatment?? He gave me samples of 150 mg tablets and said I could cut them in half and just take a half a pill once a day. What do you think about that?
m on BP medication (avapro 150mg). My BP is usually in check running around 118/70. No family history of heart disease (except Dad passed away from cardiomyapthy, was determined to be a non-genetic virus that attacked his heart).

I'd been on MMT for 15 yrs. I started at 150mg/day, dropped to,70mg/day, then dropped to 30mg/day, then 10 mg/day. It took me about a year. My last 10mg tab was 3 months ago. But I'm STILL sneezing like a lunatic! I might sneeze 4-5x a year before. Now I sneeze 4-5x before I get out of bed and at least another 10x thru the day. How long does this last? Otherwise, I feel great.
I was prescribed viocdin 5mg codein/500mgm acetametaphine, 1 tab every 6 hrs, for my fibromyalgia,arthritist, and recent diagnosis of spondylolthesis.
I needed to take 2 tabs in order to obtain relief, and have been taking 4 to 6 tabs daily depending on my pain level.
Have been seeing a chiropractor for the painful spondylolthisis, 3 times a week for 6 weeks, and the pain is less.
I have tried not taking the vicodin at all and feel very depressed.

I was having withdrawals on a dose smaller that 150mg a day. I would get down to as little as possible. Maybe 25mg a day. Half tab. Regardless there will still be some withdrawal but may be more manageable then. In my opinion 150mg is tough to jump off of on trams. I have 2 years experience struggling with getting off and finally have passed the physical symptoms... that being said as above everyone is different and will experience this in their own way.

Last week my new doctor put me on LISINOPRIL 10 MG TAB for my high BP. Before that I was on Atelonol 50 MG for 3 weeks. During those three weeks my average BP was around 150/98.
But after taking this ACE inhibitor LISINOPRIL 10 MG, my BP has gone up to 160s/110s (average). I called the Doctor's office and I was told by the nurse on the phone to double the dose (20 MG). But after 4 days of taking the two 10 MG every morning, my BP numbers have not improved.
There is no conclusive evidence of alternate day dosage being as therapeutic as the initial dose or even the maintenance dose of XR 150mg per day. What we do know at this stage is that the dose of XR/XL 150mg every other day is recommended and appropriate for those who cannot eliminate the drug in time, such as in liver diseases. But with other conditions being normal, we are not sure about the effectiveness of 150mg alternate day dosage over a longer period than needed for a taper off.
It was bad because I would run out, and Effexor is a medication you should take everyday for it to fully work. Im now on 150mgs but 1 150mg tab instead of a 75mg tab one day and 2 75mg tabs on bad days.
I think I might go back to 75mgs myself. 150mgs a day are making me tired with all oftheother medication Im on.
Broke through Verapamil now on Atenolol and dose has been raised.. recently have high blood pressure and now want to add avapro to the regieme.... any answers? 45 year old woman with child 9 yrs old.
Google Trazodone for sleep and read up. The normal strength is 150mg tab and you break it in half to take 75mg. It will make you a little drowsy in 1/2 to 1 hour and help you sleep longer, also take Melatonin and the Benadryl and that should zonk you out for 4 to 8 hours. After time when your normal sleep habits start coming back you can stop the Benadryl first, then the Melatonin, then the Trazodone. So there, you have somewhat of a 'secret' formula that few know of...
Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
I waited a few months and my ins changed so I got a new OBGYN and she started me on 150mg clomid, she told me to take it following the provera instead of days 5-9. I did and went for a blood pregnancy test 2 weeks later and it was neg. Next week I will be doing another round of 150mg clomid the same way.. I hope this works. Has anyone else taken 150mg right after finishing Provera... I just wonder what the best way to take it is.. Ideas please.
Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned.
I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
I started Zoloft on 19 Feb 2015 50mg on 27 feb increased to 100mg on 3 march 2015 Increased to 150mg and on 10 march 2015 I increased to 200mg.I was taking 50mg 2 tabs at morning at 50mg 2 tabs at evening and I was taking rivotril 0.5mg two tablets at evening also. I tapered to 1&1/2 according to doctor again the anxiety came back. Today 6th April I went to the psych and he has given me a plan to taper down and stop Zoloft with rivotril 0.5 2&1/2 tabs at night.
