Avatar n tn , Symptom onset is usually rapid, often occurring within minutes after self-poisoning or a change in medication. Serotonin syndrome encompasses a wide range of clinical findings. Mild symptoms may only consist of tachycardia, shivering, diaphoresis (sweating), mydriasis (dilated pupils), myoclonus (intermittent tremor or twitching), as well as overresponsive reflexes.
558156 tn?1217727396 Overdose symptoms are depressed respitory system, you basically stop breathing, dizzy spells to the point where you feel as though you are passing out, blurry vision. OD dosages are certainly unique to each individual and based on tolerance levels. But I dont think 15mg of ocycodone are going to throw you into an od status.

Avatar n tn nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, sweating, confusion, weakness. There are more, but easy to find if you search the web. Just taking an amount over the prescribed dose is NOT the definition of an overdose.
Avatar m tn Overdose Of Paracetamol often shows NO SYMPTOMS within the first 24 hours after the overdose. In some cases although there may be mild nausea and vomiting. If the overdose is large then liver function may start deteriorating leading to either of these; jaundice, confusion, and loss of consciousness. Avatar f tn I am not suicidal. I am being prescribed Lithium daily. I like to know as much as I can about my meds. I know the lethal dose of lithium is about 5gs or 5000mgs which is about 5 times what I am prescribed. I also have looked up the symptoms of lithium toxicity (not fun). But I can't seem to fine anywhere how long after a lethal amount or a small overdose (such as 1 accidental extra dose) on top of toxicity symptoms would start to show or when death would take place.

10878355 tn?1425579171 I am 19 years old and last week on Friday I was rushed to the Emergency Room for symptoms I was experiencing from an overdose on espresso. When I arrived I was told I was experiencing "tachycardia". My heart rate was beating over 100. I was at bed-rest and given a pill. However I am still experiencing tachycardia symptoms (not currently at hospital). I was also told that I was underweight and that caffeine overdose will impact me harder than others.
Avatar n tn Good Lord, what was that doctor thinking with that huge boost? That is NOT how thyroid med adjustment is done. That said, I don't think it would cause a spinal lesion. That's coincidental. But it would definitely cause those hyperthyroid symptoms you were experiencing. I'd think that any sensory symptoms from thyroid imbalance would resolve with restoration of appropriate levels.
Avatar n tn It certainly sounds like hyper symptoms to me, but you should be monitored closely and tested with any dosage change. Call your doc and describe your symptoms and ask why you haven't been tested to check the effectiveness of your new dosage change. You should have been tested at 6 weeks!

Avatar f tn nausea, vomiting, sweating, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and irritability. Not all patients display early symptoms of overdose. During this phase if a patient seeks treatment they will be given charcoal that will bind to the acetaminophen in the stomach. Then doctors will pump the stomach, aiming to remove all of the acetaminophen. Likewise they might give the patient N-acetylcysteine, or NAC, which is an antidote for acetaminophen overdose and can be taken orally.
Avatar n tn t have diabetes, it can cause an unsafe drop in your blood sugar. This drop can cause the symptoms that you describe, and if left untreated, could also lead to coma and death. One way to help raise your blood sugar level again is to eat or drink something that has sugar in it, such as a candy bar, orange juice, even a banana would help to a certain extent. I would also suggest that you keep the number for Poison Control handy (800-222-1222).
