Below 29% is the heart failure range and symptoms can be pulmonary edema (cause a dry cough and breathing when inclined), shortness of breath, chest pain, etc. Before an answer to your question the underlying cause for poor contractility of the heart should be dx'd.
Apparently, your blood pressure is assumed to be part of the problem, and I would assume (based on EF estimate) there has been an echocardiogram. Is there any heart wall movement impairment?
Hx: Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year? systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110. Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08. Stress test after second appt. was okay. Cholesterol ok. BP still up. ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120. Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002). Family doc doesn't seem concerned.
I think his heart rate is too high. His dyastolic pressure is still high.
In 2009, due to skipping meals, sugar went low, feeling fuzzy high heart rate, palpitations,shaky. I visited emergency 5 times immediately but they could detect hypoglycemia. Diamicron and Metformin still harming. My family physian, Zuzana gross, sent me to heart specialist. But found nothing, After two months she stopped Metformin and dia micron. I was feeling little better, Now sugar wnt high, 10 to 16 MMOL. She could not not give any medicine lower sugar.
SOB, feet, ankle and lower leg swelling, upper abdominal swelling (looks like I am ready to deliver) fatique, wheezing and coughing. At times I will get a spell of lightheadness and a fast heart rate at the same time. I have to hang onto things when this happen. The doctor said I must be having anxiety attacks. I do not think so. He said my feet swelling is because I am getting old. Hmmm!
I have gained 22 lbs and I feel a lot is fluiod.
The dr has changed his medication, put him on a meta blocker and lasix and said to give the medication 3 months and will see the dr in 3 months time. Since my Dad has been taking the new medication he is worse ( more out of breath) Help me please... I dont know what to do? Do I suggest he gets an angiogram now and not in 3 months time when the angiogram will depend on the results of the new medication. I have 2 brothers living on different sides of the world and a sister who is frantic.

Do I need to be concerned about the heart palps or chest pain? I do have high anxiety (because of the chest pain and palps), and others around me seem to think I'm anxious. I don't see it but they do. My cardiologist isnt concerned and told me to see him in a year. Should I seek more tests like a PET Scan? My doc doesnt think its needed and it exposes me to radiation.

He checked my blood pressure and heart rate and said it was not cardiovascular, but rather he thought, side effects from the Norpace. I was hot, sweating and nauseous. I am just now, 2 days later, starting to feel normal.
Any advice or experiences you've had on the Norpace would be appreciated.

I take avapro for blood pressure, immovane for sleep and now to quell the anxiety. I have frequent ophthalmic migraines (all sparkly lights, no pain) and have a pain migraine every two weeks or so. I can't get anyone to help me and with every week I am that much less functioning. Oh, I've also gained 40 lbs in six months; mostly belly fat. Please!! Any thoughts? Suggestions? Home remedies while I wait to get a doc to take me seriously?
The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
I think you already gave yourself your own answer........no food, caffeine, stress and a dentist appt.? Ouch!!! Keep an eye on it and my heart doc always says if you can feel your heart listen to it and if you need to make the call. Atypically we shouldn't ever feel our hearts unless we stress them thru exercise or the post you made above....you sound like a normal human to me and a lucky lucky person but......
A year ago, my doctor gave me Lescol/Fluvastatin to take because I am a high risk for heart disease due to genetics and diabetes. At that time my Lipids were within normal range. After a month, ALT/AST results were very elevated.

The next work out was very light cardio and strenght training. My heart rate went up to 190 and stayed weel above my target heart rate the entire workout. Even when I was on the floor it stayed elevated! THe ekg and heart monitor showed nothing out of the ordinary. I really like to work out but it makes me feel terrible while I am trying to do it. What could be the problem? Any suggestions?
I decided the pain in my arm was too much and took tums, hoping it was heart burn. It went away, and my heart rate went down. I've taken 3 doses of tums and my rate has stayed down and my pain is gone. I decided to try skipping a dose today thinking the problem would have subsided by now. I went into urgent care to ask them about heart burn issues and if it was what could be causing it.
my heart rate was 144 and so i had to go for a heart test and do blood work today .
I did an oxemitry test and was walking very fast, I started to feel dizzy and needed to stop and catch my breath. The technician said that my heart rate jumped to over 150 at that time but my oxygen stayed in the 90's. She said that my shortness of breath was heart related and to call my cardiologist. My blood pressure normally runs low, about 103 over 60.

At eleven weeks my babies heart rate was 188 Lol....
