For 2 months now, I have had earaches, pain in upper teeth, pain in the jaw,pain in temple, pain along bridge of nose, pain under eye and above brow. I've had a full doseof augmentin and had exrays on upper teeth. I'm living on aleve or ibuprofen. Please help me.
I have gone to many doctors and they diagnosed me with a sinus infection/sinusitis. After taking augmentin I still felt horrible after a week and a half. I had a sinus x-ray done and the results cameback normal? No sinus infection? I am 14 years old and I am feeling so bad I'm getting behind on schoolwork and I'm tired all the time. I have lost 6 pounds since july or august and very skinny, my parents are afraid I am getting annorexic.

On new years night of this year I got completely way too intoxicated and had unprotected sex with a friend who says she is positive she has no STD's. She got tested before she went to college and was clean but we had sex after she had been at college for a semester. I was inside her for about 10 seconds before I realized either way it was stupid. I was fine until feb.12 I noticed tears in the skin in between my scrotum and thigh. I got a headache too no fever.
The problem is most likely due to excessive and chronic attack of sinusitis. Take a proper course of antibiotics like Augmentin. Take inhalational steam and anti allergics. If there is a deviated nasal sinus, get the surgical correction. All other symptoms and the troubles would be corrected simultaneously.

Yesterday I noticed that I had a little white dried skin at the tip of my penis and the area was red. Additionally I have a small red dot that is white in the middle around the same area. I don't feel any difference down there and the only reason I noticed was because I was washing myself in the shower.

This has been going on for months but I did not really realize it, only symptoms I had were post nasal drip and tons of fatigue. Months earlier, during a flair up in sinus symptoms, I was put on Amoxicillin for a short course but it was not long enough to completely wipe out the infection.
My husband has had chronic sinusitis (it tends to occur sec. to colds/or exercise-induced asthma). Never drainage/congestion/fever. Only symptom is "pressure" mid-forehead & eyes. He's been on numerous abx/steroids beg. Oct/08; 8 courses of abx & medrol dose packs/pred. In order, he took Amox, Z-pack, Bactrim, Ceftin, Cefadroxil, and now Augmentin. CT scan showed anatomically smaller left maxillary sinus, slightly dev.
Saw a neurologist, had some sort of ear test yesterday - nothing so far - tried medication for myasthenia gravis - no help, if anything, made it a bit worse. Also have a sinus infection going on that is not responding to augmentin, if not for netti pot would be in a lot of pain, putting pressure on right eye. Even after using the netti pot, with the pressure gone, no difference to vision. Normal CT and MRI except for mild sinus disease (mild because have been using netti?
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Usually seven days is required to see clinical benefit in severe sinusitis infection. If it stays worse for more than a week then further evaluation is required.
Ideally, endoscopically-guided culture could be performed to determine the effective antibiotic and should be started without delay. As an empirical therapy, its better to start with augmentin, this is already been done in your case. Otherwise levofloxacin can be effective alternative.
m about to lose my mind over this, as it is so aggravating and annoying. I have been to an ear, nose, throat specialist twice. He put me on Augmentin for 10 days, plus a precscription antacid. He thought I had "Silent Reflux".......meaning I have no heartburn or any other symptoms, but that the acid was skipping my stomach and going to my throat, basically. This did not work. The next appt., he put a tube with the camera down my nose and looked at my throat. He saw nothing.
I had the same problem for years, despite otherwise good health, and I took, on different occasions, Levaquin, a Z-pack, and Augmentin. Awesome antiobiotics indeed, they killed every pathogen in my body except several in my sinuses, which grew back immediately.

I was sick last week, chills, aches, unbelievable fatigue. Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are suggestive of chronic sinusitis. The causes of these are bacterial infection like streptococcal, staphylococcal, Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis and Fungal infections.
This can be associated with postnasal drip and throat clearing. This can in turn irritate the throat lining. You need to send the sputum or throat swab for culture, microscopy, staining to rule out the pathogen and should also take chest radiograph.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
