augmentin

Avatar m tn I have suffered from chronic sinusitis for years. My ENT said I have under developed sinuses that are about the width of a pencil. I suffered a really bad sinus infection back in 2007, I couldn't breathe or swallow right. My sinuses felt like cement. I didn't want to take any of the steroid nasal sprays because they can dry your nose & I take bad nose bleeds. I went to a health food store nearby & the person who owned it said she too had chronic sinusitis.
Avatar f tn 5 to 3.5 (2 art heart valves). About 6 to 8 weeks ago, I took augmentin for 10 days, 2 weeks ago, I took another antibiotic for 5 days. Since then, my PT/INR has been too low, 2.0. My diet and meds have stayed the same. I've been increasing my dose, yet it's still too low. Is it normal for this change? Please see my profile! Can it indicate my lupus activity?
Avatar n tn I went to the dentist and had xrays and he tapped on my teeth and blew air on them. I was on augmentin for a week, nothing. Could it be tmj or should I go back to the doctor?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with sinus infection about 3 weeks ago. I took augmentin 875mg/twice a day for 7 days. The symptom went away after taking the med, and it just came back again after 7 days. Please help....!
480448 tn?1426948538 I have already made an appt for Wed with an ENT, as it seems that this Sphenoid sinusitis is nothing to mess around with. I have NEVER had headaches last this long...with NO relief from anything. Ear infection common with this...or could this be a complication? I just started on Augmentin 875mg twice daily for 10 days...any other ideas...any OTC meds I can take that could reduce the pressure? Geez, instead of the docs telling me that my CT in the Spring was "normal"...
Avatar f tn You really should be using a steroid nasal spray for you excessive mucous production for your sinuses. Antibiotics help acute sinusitis infections. I often do saline irrigations of my sinuses, that helps remove the excess mucous that is in the sinuses. Also gets rid of infected material. These irrigations should be done twice a day. I've also noticed that when you have excess lung mucous you will feel it rattling around deep in your lungs before it makes it's way up.
Avatar m tn She got tested before she went to college and was clean but we had sex after she had been at college for a semester. I was inside her for about 10 seconds before I realized either way it was stupid. I was fine until feb.12 I noticed tears in the skin in between my scrotum and thigh. I got a headache too no fever. So initially I thought herpes. I went to my doctor he said that it looked more like jock itch. I got some lotrimin and that cleared up.
Avatar m tn do you know what dosage? I have an unrelated sickness.
Avatar m tn I have gone to many doctors and they diagnosed me with a sinus infection/sinusitis. After taking augmentin I still felt horrible after a week and a half. I had a sinus x-ray done and the results cameback normal? No sinus infection? I am 14 years old and I am feeling so bad I'm getting behind on schoolwork and I'm tired all the time. I have lost 6 pounds since july or august and very skinny, my parents are afraid I am getting annorexic.
Avatar f tn ” With “never drainage/congestion/fever” and “never gets congestion, sneezing, post-nasal drip, etc” and a borderline normal CT scan, the evidence for chronic sinusitis is scant. The American Academy of Otolaryngology (ENT) classifies sinus symptoms as follows: Major: Facial pressure, congestion, nasal obstruction, a runny nose and a reduced sense of smell. And, Minor: Headache, fever, halitosis, fatigue, dental pain, cough and ear pain.
Avatar f tn it sounds like you had an allergic reaction or OD to the Augmentin. My Mom nearly died from Augmentin. It is a very strong drug and sometimes doctors go over board on the dosage. Don't take anymore. Call your doctor and get a different, less harsh antibiotic.
Avatar n tn You need a cortizone nasal spray and also antibiotics for 7-10 days. Augmentin is the best but there is also Amoxicillin, Bactrum, etc.... If you wait to late it can turn into bronchitis or ear infection and ear infections are very painful if you have ever had one. If that infection does not clear up after antibiotics then you need a CT scan like I had. You have have a polyps or you may need your sinuses opened to be drained.
Avatar f tn The problem is most likely due to excessive and chronic attack of sinusitis. Take a proper course of antibiotics like Augmentin. Take inhalational steam and anti allergics. If there is a deviated nasal sinus, get the surgical correction. All other symptoms and the troubles would be corrected simultaneously.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am desperately seeking answers to my 7 yr old son's problems. About 8 weeks ago, he started complaining of tummy ache after school. Within a couple of days, he also started having headaches always on his forehead. The ped. put him on Amoxycillin due to a possible sinus infection. He also had bloodwork done and his T4 and TSH came at borderline. He responded to the Amox. for a few days and the headaches returned.
Avatar m tn Also, i take some antiseptic and anti-inflammatory medication like bradoral 0.5 mg (domiphen bromide ). Also, I take a syrup for common cold and influenza (dosage teaspoonful 5ml which contains 160mg paracetamol, 1mg chlorpheniramine maleate, 15mg pseudoephedrine HCI, and 4.5mg dextromethorphan HBr).
Avatar m tn My urine sample came back negative for bacteria and the doctor just told me the skin is just irritated. He said it is balanitis and he said to keep it dry and put baby oil on it. Do you think that it will get better if I do those things?
Avatar f tn Please start antibiotic therapy with augmentin as you are having sinusitis along with swollen glands. Your symptoms suggest viral etiology, do consult doctor and get investigations done.
Avatar f tn The key to any infection/allergy is just like hitting the bulls eye.Correct dosage for correct time for correct sensitive organism/allergen.Though this aspect may change a bit with allergens but still they fall under category of Type 1 Hypersensitivity, where the management is more or less the same.
Avatar f tn I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? The abscess continues to drain slowly and I have covered it with sterilized gauze. Please help.
Avatar f tn For the past 2 1/2 weeks have been having trouble seeing straight. If I use one eye things look pretty normal, both eyes it's fairly dizzying.Seeing doubles by evening, not one next to another, but when looking at the tv, an individual will have another face on their chest. Have seen my opthamologist - not my eyes. Seen the PCP, he's at a loss.
Avatar m tn So, yes, I'm a newbie. 27 yr old female with asthma and allergies since I was little. In the last 2 years, my asthma has gotten progressively worse. This year, I started fresh with a brand new asthma/allergy specialist and we finally started to get my asthma under control. I went from a peak flow of 450 to 575 in just a couple months with medication changes!
