Hi, I went to the doctor and all tests are negative. I still have mild itchy foreskin and anus, little burning when peeing, no discharge (after receiving oral sex only, for about 1 minute, 12 days ago). I told the doctor I took Augmentin, he laughed at me and suspects NGU or gonorrhea. Since I am leaving the city for a long period of work the doctor gave me Zithromax 2gr and Cefixima 400mg all in one dose. Then test again in 1 month.... Is this cure good for gonorrhea, NGU, chlamydia? Thank you.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. I finished the augmentin and I have no sore throat just thrush I recently started an anti fungal for it though. So I have some questions.
1.When someone contracts HIV are symptoms spread out like this?
2. Is 6 weeks too late to have symptoms of ARS?
3. Do you think that the thrush is medication related or HIV related, would it show up after 3 months?
I may be the first casualty of detox coming down from such a high dose. The trouble is...my doctor is willing to just write more prescriptions with no hope of ever quiting or dealing with the pain I have in a different way. Surgery is not an option anymore, and I am hoping that some miracle herb will come along, but I doubt that. I worry that even if I do detox, the pain will be debilitating, so that I will be unable to work.
I am on a very high dose of OC. Has anyone ever had any luck trying eo wean down from 8 to 16 OC 80's a day? I know it is a huge dose and I would like to wean down some to try to lower my tolerance. I know that I will always be on pain meds but I can not keep increasing the dose, so I thought if I tried to take as vacation , so to speak, maybe I could lower my tolerance. Has anyone else ever taken this high of a dose daily?
My 12month old daughter has vomited in the middle of the night for the past 6 nights. She has been sick- first a cold then an ear infection and was on augmentin, but her last dose was yesterday. She is fine during the day but every night it is the same thing- her stomach starts making load gurgling noises and her mouth gets watery and she vomits. She sleeps with us and nurses before she goes to bed and then once more during the night.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Two weeks ago, Monday the 7th I went to the doctor with a sever sore throat and was giving Augmentin to take for 10 days (twice a day). My throat was really sore, I had a 103 degree fever, and thyroid glands were swollen. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen didn't do much to relieve the pain. The rapid strep test said I did not have strep throat, but after looking at my throat a few times the doctor believed the test was wrong and gave me Augmentin.

It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.
The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.
Well, I'd imagine your doctor wouldn't give you something that isn't safe but DO understand your concern. Did he swab the white stuff? Is your throat sore or the white stuff is just there? I was on long term antibiotics a while back for a tooth issue. I took antibiotics for a full month around the clock. A couple weeks after I was done, my GI tract went nuts. I was really sick at first with diarrhea an pain. I thought I had c diff to be honest.
it was back and this time it went straight to dry inflamed mode. Augmentin did not help. In fact from all the augmentin I got yeast and/or BV. I was given flagyl which worked for 2 weeks then it all came back with a vengeance. I didn't just have vaginal inflammation but ulcerated sores in my rectum as well. I'm still suffering from that as medications didn't make it completely go away.
Everyone, I got sudden cold, dry cough and high fever(101 - 102), it went for 23 days and came down with Augmentin after doing few blood test those ware normal. Then there was 10-12days i was batter and coming on routine. It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
If you have been reduced down to 112mcg of Levoxyl, your thyroid is not at a hyper stage, but the larger dose of Levoxyl may have driven your hormones high enough to make you feel Hyper. If your Levoxyl needs to be reduced again and again untill you are not taking any at all, then you may be looking at hyperthyroidism again.
As much Levoxyl as you are taking, I doubt you will suffer full blown hyperthyroidism again unless it is from over-medication.
Get tested four times a year.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
2 yrs ago got an acute kidney infection ( high fever, blood in pee, the works) which was treated with augmentin. since then, I keep getting less acute infections and they come back every 3 months. Low fever, very tired, abdominal swelling (a lot), back pain, urine strips show white blood cells and protein and occasionally nitrates. I had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago (large broad lig fibroid) and I hoped that might make a difference.
