I have white/clear mucous and have used augmentin and azithromax one course after another (augmentin first and then azithromax) given by my doctor but the cough is not gone. My chest x ray is normal but the doctor could not do a pft because of my continuous cough at that time. My blood work for pneumonia diabetes and cholesterol are all good. sinus CT scan is normal too. Is this viral is it okay to take several months for cough to go away. I have no wheezing or asthma history.

I'ts been two days, I still have the same diarrhea and the treatment should be until monday (the day I'll see my doctor). I'm really afraid about this antibiotic, but I know it's important to take it for 8 days. Do you think it's dangerous to keep with augmentin or should I stop it? It's already 4 days now with this really liquid diahrrea.

Hi, I went to the doctor and all tests are negative. I still have mild itchy foreskin and anus, little burning when peeing, no discharge (after receiving oral sex only, for about 1 minute, 12 days ago). I told the doctor I took Augmentin, he laughed at me and suspects NGU or gonorrhea. Since I am leaving the city for a long period of work the doctor gave me Zithromax 2gr and Cefixima 400mg all in one dose. Then test again in 1 month.... Is this cure good for gonorrhea, NGU, chlamydia? Thank you.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
I took my usual dose at 115 mg but for some reason my stomach became sick soon after and I threw up about an hour after I took it.
Did the methadone have enough time to get into my system or did I lose it when I threw up?.
*Augmentin XR 1000 -- This is a time-release formulation and thus is a better choice than standard Augmentin. Dose -- 1000 mg q 8 h, to 2000 mg q 12 h based on blood levels.
* Chloramphenicol -- Not recommended, as not proven and potentially toxic.
* Metronidazole -- 500 to 1500 mg daily in divided doses. Non-pregnant adults only.
Everyone, I got sudden cold, dry cough and high fever(101 - 102), it went for 23 days and came down with Augmentin after doing few blood test those ware normal. Then there was 10-12days i was batter and coming on routine. Again from last few days im having high fever (102 - 103)along with coughing that makes me to though up some chuck of food, some time thicky Yellowish greenish bitter test liquid.

My 12month old daughter has vomited in the middle of the night for the past 6 nights. She has been sick- first a cold then an ear infection and was on augmentin, but her last dose was yesterday. She is fine during the day but every night it is the same thing- her stomach starts making load gurgling noises and her mouth gets watery and she vomits. She sleeps with us and nurses before she goes to bed and then once more during the night.
Prednisone (not a pack but the kind in a bottle that you wean yourself down from), Augmentin (2x a day), albuterol for a breathing machine (every 4 hours), and liquid phenergan that had cough syrup mixed in with it (2 tsp every 6 hours or as needed for cough). I took all medicine as prescribed the same times every day and now all my medicines are gone and I am still sick. The only difference is it helped my cough some and I can sleep thru the nights now but I'm just not better yet.
I had sex two days before and felt itchy on my foreskin so I applied a pinch of undiluted disinfectant liquid on my inside foreskin which is attached to forehead of my penis. It started burning and soon I applied Boroline for 2 days. Stopped using Dettol. After 3 days skin started to peel off but the skin attaching to the head has become hard and has turned to white (not pink). Like how wound becomes. I am applying boroline + consulted doctor.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

It has been there for about 2 - 3 weeks. It does not cause me any pain in swallowing food or liquid nor have I had any particular excessive pain or fever except only feeling a slight irritation and a very slight pain when swallowing . I went to the doctors and I was prescribed leftose, Oralsol mouthwash and Augmentin, I have finished my meds but the red bumps are still there. Another thing to note is that I was diagnosed with H.
It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.
The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.
On Friday, June 11th, I was diagnosed with otitis media (middle ear infection) and placed on Augmentin and pain reliving drops. I am still experiencing pain as if someone is stabbing me in the ear, it is keeping me awake, and my ear is completely blocked with what feels like fluid. I stil feel awful and cannot get comfortable at all.
Should I return to the doctor? My ear is hurting me a lot and I am having pain into my kneck and terrible headaches.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
The nausea stays with her until she has some food and liquid in her stomach. Many times, it subsides, but comes back when she moves around again. All her tests EGD, Cat Scan, MRI, etc turn out normal. Hida Scan showed her gall bladder to be very small and only 10% operative, so she had it removed about a month ago. Nausea subsided some for a few days, but it's back every day now. Doctors are stumped. I hope someone will come up with a good idea of the cause of this.
Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. I finished the augmentin and I have no sore throat just thrush I recently started an anti fungal for it though. So I have some questions.
1.When someone contracts HIV are symptoms spread out like this?
2. Is 6 weeks too late to have symptoms of ARS?
3. Do you think that the thrush is medication related or HIV related, would it show up after 3 months?
That had no effect (other than to give me diarriah and make me feel nauseous), so they had me do another two weeks of clear liquid diet with augmentin. I lost fifteen pounds over that time and see any improvement in my symptoms. Concerned that I was losing weight my G.P. arranged for a colorectal surgeon to do a colonoscopy. He found "no evidence of impacted diverticula, infection, or abscess".

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
Help!!! My 25year old son is addicted to liquid Codein ( street name "Lean"). Lately he has become this very hyper and talkative person. Not sleeping. I'm very scared because the last time he stop using it he went into clodl sweats and bad stomach cramps. How can I help him to get off the drug?
5 to 3.5 (2 art heart valves). About 6 to 8 weeks ago, I took augmentin for 10 days, 2 weeks ago, I took another antibiotic for 5 days. Since then, my PT/INR has been too low, 2.0. My diet and meds have stayed the same. I've been increasing my dose, yet it's still too low. Is it normal for this change? Please see my profile! Can it indicate my lupus activity?
