----I stabilized completely last summer and I was on the brand name version of the medication. When I switched over to the generic, I started having problems and had to increased the dose from 900mgs to 1600mgs over the space of a few months. Any changes in the dosages over this time dropped me into a deep depression and I HAD to drop the dosage many times because it was agitating me. I just assumed it was because I was adjusting to the medication.

My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.

My gut feeling is that it was a combination of drugs, as I have been taking Crestor for quite some time without elevation of liver enzymes but the difference was the addition of augmentin and then GENERIC zyrtec, which seemed to have more side effects than the brand I have taken in the past. The itching is driving me CRAZY...liver enzymes still elevated but are coming down. You were right, Nexium is now allowed, but hope that isn't contributing to the itching.

After having a throat infection for 13 years (Lingual Tonsillitis which has irritated the hyoid bone), I found an ENT who diagnosed me and put me on a few medications to bring down the inflammation. I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.

If you are required to take the generic, find a generic that will work for you. The name of the lab is always on the bottle. And be SURE each time your scrip is filled that the same lab produced it. Everyone says negative things about generics. And sometimes it is warranted. But not always. For instance the generic of claritin and some heart and blood pressure drugs makes them affordable and they work fine. My husband gets generics of a lot of his meds and he does very well.

Oh, meant to say, you get the brand name by telling your psychiatrist to write the prescription for the brand name. You get the generic if they write the prescription for the generic, which they will do automatically generally because it's less expensive and because many insurance plans don't pay for brand names at all if a generic is available.
