Avatar f tn Hello, High WBC in urine indicates a urinary tract infection. But a presence of so many RBC’s in urine indicates hematuria. Microscopic hematuria can be due to urinary tract (bladder) infection, swelling in the filtering system of the kidneys, stone in bladder or in a kidney, blood disease, like sickle cell anemia, certain medicines and tumors in the urinary tract. You may need a series of investigations like urine examination, urine culture, ultrasound or cystoscopy to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn If the same maybe you can stay the course of antibiotics until the urinary tract infection is clear? I am not sure it would be safe to give lots of cranberry juice to a child they are too young for that I think. It may cause their blood sugar to get too far off. How is he doing today? This is a good article that explains the symptoms and why you child gets a urinary tract infection. It is fairly common to get. http://www.healthline.
Avatar n tn Ive had a urinary tract infection for going on 6 weeks now. Ive been treated over and over and nothing seems to be getting rid of it. I dont have a regular dr so I am relying on trips to the er to help me. I am now so sick with the infection that I am throwing up and am in so much pain. I have a very serious history of kidney stones as well which doesnt help much either. I just had my last stone removed about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).
Avatar f tn I’m 20 years old. I have a urinary tract infection(coliform). A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?

4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar f tn Hi, The pain seems to me due to a stone in the urinary tract and will suggest you getting an ultrasound done and maybe an Intravenous urography/CT scan to confirm the presence of a stone. Please do consult a urologist also for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

Avatar f tn How do you tell the difference between a urinary tract infection and yeast infectiy?
493068 tn?1224765315 The condition occurs when the normally clean lower urinary tract is infected by bacteria and becomes inflamed. Urinary tract infections are very common. Most of the time, symptoms of a urinary tract infection disappear within 24 - 48 hours after treatment begins. However, if the condition occurs more than twice in 6 months, lasts longer than 2 weeks, or does not respond to usual treatment, it is considered chronic. The elderly are at increased risk for such infections.
Avatar m tn This is not a STD and has become more resistant to medications. Follow up with your Dr.
Avatar n tn After confirming the diagnosis of a urinary tract infection through urine tests, antibiotic treatment may be started. A urine culture and sensitivity test will determine the specific organism responsible as well as the antibiotic treatment. Drinking plenty of fluids also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn Our vet checked a CBC, Chemistry Panel and Urinalysis which showed no anemia, normal platelets, normal renal function and no indication of a urinary tract infection or hematuria. Physical exam is unremarkable except for oozing blood at the vaginal orrifice. We initially tried a course of augmentin suspecting a UTI on the first visit before the urinalysis. That seemed to help marginally.
Avatar f tn I have a question for those of you with urinary tract problems. I have had several UTIs and seem to be retaining urine. Also, my bladder and kidneys hurt. As many of you know, I do have Lupus. The question I have is should I be going to a urologist? I have talked to my GP about this and I have even mentioned being tested for Lupus Nephritis, but he just tells me that anytime he has checked my kidneys they have been fine.
Avatar n tn There are OTC herbal/omega treatments that boast they aid greatly in preventing UTI. I would ask your vet if he has a preference for one (or if it conflicts with his present treatment). The most important thing is to let your vet know of any additional treatments you try as the two of you seem to have a "game plan" in dealing with the issue. Has anyone else had any success with a particular brand of homeopathic treatment?
Avatar m tn m a very religous person and know that God has a plan already laid out for all of us. I just wanted to ask for your prayers for this to be nothing serious especially cancer. That word scares me to death and I can't hardly bare to think I could possilby have it.
Avatar m tn A urinalysis and urine culture may also help rule out a urinary tract infection. A primary differential for your case may be balanitis. This is a general term used for a skin condition involving the head of the penis.

Avatar f tn It's probably just a urinary tract infection. Very common. Antibiotics will clear it up in no time. Relax. Getting worked up about it isn't going to solve anything.
Avatar n tn There is nothing you can really do about the urinary tract infection except take the antibiotics. They may want you to take a stronger antibiotic (prescribed by your doctor) but being pregnant makes us more probable to have urinary tract infections. It doesn't become a problem unless you ignore it.
