Avatar n tn I have recently battled a sinus infection following a head cold. Treatment w/Augmentin helped the symptoms of the SI, but simultaneously I developed a very stiff neck pain. Augmentin always makes me feel "strange". Coincidence or related . Maybe others have experienced same?
Avatar n tn put him on Amoxycillin due to a possible sinus infection. He also had bloodwork done and his T4 and TSH came at borderline. He responded to the Amox. for a few days and the headaches returned. This time they put him on Augmentin for "persistent" sinus infection. He finished his dosage with no improvement. He was put on Augmentin again and also started having redness and infection in his left eye.
Avatar f tn I got a bad cold a week ago Sunday. It was almost over it when, a few days ago, when my nose started to fill up again. The mucous is yellow and thick and no matter what I try, saline, nose drops, etc. it continues to fill up. I do not have any sinus pressure or pain, YET. Today I feel sicker, mild chills, and I have a mild sore throat.. I have Aumentin which was given to me "just in case." I hate to sign in for 10 days of antibiotics if it's still the same virus.
Avatar f tn Hi, Iam 12wks pregnant. I was given augmentin sr tablets to treat a sinus infection. The doc said it's safe but I am scared to take it.
Avatar n tn A pregnant woman I work wtih took it last week. I ended up with a sinus infection and took an antibiotic - augmentin (sp?) - 35 weeks and still going strong!
Avatar f tn An inner ear infection can cause vertigo (fainting), which may have started from a sinus infection. Might want to talk to a Ear/ Nose and Throat specialist that your doctor can refer you to.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with sinus infection about 3 weeks ago. I took augmentin 875mg/twice a day for 7 days. The symptom went away after taking the med, and it just came back again after 7 days. Please help....!
Avatar n tn I'm in my second trimester and am on the tail end of a sinus infection. It's been awful. I am also on Augmentin, which is another name for the one you are on. It is helping and clearing things up. Something that has helped tremendously, especially before bed is the sinus rinse bottle or the neti pot, it helps break up and clear out that infection. You can add golden-seal powder or zylotol powder to the mixture and it will boost white blood cells to fight bacteria and infection.
Avatar m tn I had the same problem, which resisted augmentin and everything else, and I faced surgery. Fortunately, I invented a way to remove a sinus infection without surgery. It uses salty water in a different way than you tried. The pain behind your eyes indicates that the infection may possibly be in your sphenoid or frontal lobes, which are higher up in the head. When you put saline in your nose, it won't reach those sinuses, due to gravity, and it will be useless, as you have discovered.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed augmentin for a sinus infection around 20wks. It is a very strong drug that comes with lots of side effects. I got very sick from the effects of it and was switched to amoxicillin.
Avatar n tn I have been feeling somewhat dizzy and having headaches underneath my eyes and across the middle of my forehead, I also have had a very stuffy nose. Are these symptoms of a sinus infection or allergies?
Avatar n tn m taking the Augmentin, would it be advisable that I get tested? Is Augmentin a good medication for treating these types of infections? Who should get tested again, and when? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Could this indeed be a sinus infection caused by the abcess? Could I have ruptured a sinus during that coughing spell? Could the sinus infection b taking this long to clear up? The headaches are all on my left side. There's sensitivity on the inside of my nose (on that side) and up into my left temple. The pain intensifies upon movement, coughing, sneezing, and bending over. I feel like I have fluid on my ear still as well.
Avatar m tn I notice irritation down there in a new spot with itching and redness. I expect a lump to form. I get a spasm like feeling too. DR. Said its and inflamed gland....but why a second bout?? Is the throat thing related? Same partner for 1 year 5 mo. He tested neg for hsv 1 and 2 1 month ago, I was neg 2 months ago. Igg test. I took 1 diflucan 150mg last day of antibiotic as a precaution.
Avatar n tn Taking antibiotics because of a sinus infection.
Avatar n tn I forgot to mention now I am back on the meds... I am on augmentin and alegra... Augmentin for 14 days... I just don't want to keep taking medication all the time... It has been going on for about a year + now.... I did have a bad cold but mostly I could not breath and severely stuffy and when I blowed it was green and bloody.. Then my throat became mildy sore... NOW finally I can breath again..... Just back to that same old congestion.... It tastes bad,,,, it is just not fun to have..
Avatar n tn That definitely sounds like a fungal infection. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for well over a month now. It was so bad that I was going to the doctor daily for IV antibiotics. I was sent to the ENT who suctioned my ear and found I had a fungal infection. My ear drum also had a small perforation which affected my hearing some. He had me continue with the antibiotics and gave me eardrops. The eardrops smelled like vinegar and burned.
Avatar f tn I've had a sinus infection for five days and have been on antibiotics (augmentin, or amoxicillin) for 2.5 days (5 doses) already and have seen no improvement. I am in so much pain and am worried about my unborn baby's health. Does anyone have experience with this? Shouldn't the antibiotics be working at least a little by now? I'm halfway through the prescription.
Avatar f tn I have a sinus infection and was prescribed a Z pack and it didn't really help. I went back and got prescribed augmentin. I have been taking it for 3 days and now i have a pretty bad nasal drip going on in the back of my throat. I also have panic disorder and pretty much need to know that I am okay all the time. Is this normal? Is there a possibility of something awful happening from a nasal drip?
Avatar f tn I have a really bad sinus and upper respiratory infection and the medication I was prescribed (augmentin) isn't getting rid of it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any medications I can take that will just make my nose stop running.
Avatar m tn The cyst could be from the chronically inflamed sinuses. For a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. However, if you do have an infected tooth, you will still need to have this addressed as dental infections can be potentially life-threatening. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I just finished a round of Augmentin for a sinus infection! Which I'm sure is the culprit. Also I use softsoap body wash. My husband and I haven't had sex since before the symptoms started. Thanks for all the info guys!
Avatar n tn Thanks Is there a time when HIV antibodies will not be detectable? Also would the antibiotic Augmentin used for sinus infection bear any results on an antibody test?
Avatar m tn I have gone to many doctors and they diagnosed me with a sinus infection/sinusitis. After taking augmentin I still felt horrible after a week and a half. I had a sinus x-ray done and the results cameback normal? No sinus infection? I am 14 years old and I am feeling so bad I'm getting behind on schoolwork and I'm tired all the time. I have lost 6 pounds since july or august and very skinny, my parents are afraid I am getting annorexic.
Avatar f tn HI, Advair is used for patients with asthma or COPD which it does not sound like you have. You also need a prescription for it, so I don't think it is a good idea to take it. Nasonex is prescribed for nasal symptoms related to seasonal allergies. I don't think that this will help you either. I think you should ask your doctor about the persistent cough (perhaps it is allergy related) and see what he/she suggests. Good luck.
