Avatar n tn I have recently battled a sinus infection following a head cold. Treatment w/Augmentin helped the symptoms of the SI, but simultaneously I developed a very stiff neck pain. Augmentin always makes me feel "strange". Coincidence or related . Maybe others have experienced same?

Avatar n tn Hello, I am desperately seeking answers to my 7 yr old son's problems. About 8 weeks ago, he started complaining of tummy ache after school. Within a couple of days, he also started having headaches always on his forehead. The ped. put him on Amoxycillin due to a possible sinus infection. He also had bloodwork done and his T4 and TSH came at borderline. He responded to the Amox. for a few days and the headaches returned.
Avatar f tn An inner ear infection can cause vertigo (fainting), which may have started from a sinus infection. Might want to talk to a Ear/ Nose and Throat specialist that your doctor can refer you to.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with sinus infection about 3 weeks ago. I took augmentin 875mg/twice a day for 7 days. The symptom went away after taking the med, and it just came back again after 7 days. Please help....!
Avatar f tn Anyway, I think I may have a sinus infection - lots of sinus drainage and feeling really down. But with the thyroid problem, it is hard to tell what is from what these days. I have not been to the doctor for the sinus thing as they say if it is viral, they can't do anything, but it doesn't seem to be going away. Anyway wondering if I was prescribed an antibiotic, does that type of medication interfere with thyroid and that situation? Anyone have any insight on this?
Avatar m tn About 2 weeks ago I started having some sinus issues, I think due t the weather and now I have had a headache for almost 2 weeks In both temples and behind my eyes. Nothing will get rid of it. I went to the doctor and he gave me 3 shots to fight the infection and I'm taking augmentin, but this headache has me to my knees. This holiday season has turned into a nightmare. I'm not asking for help. I'm begging for help.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed augmentin for a sinus infection around 20wks. It is a very strong drug that comes with lots of side effects. I got very sick from the effects of it and was switched to amoxicillin.

Avatar n tn I have been feeling somewhat dizzy and having headaches underneath my eyes and across the middle of my forehead, I also have had a very stuffy nose. Are these symptoms of a sinus infection or allergies?
Avatar n tn m taking the Augmentin, would it be advisable that I get tested? Is Augmentin a good medication for treating these types of infections? Who should get tested again, and when? Thank you.
Avatar f tn She put me on Augmentin for 8 days for a sinus infection and said that she saw fluid behind my left eardrum. After the 8th day of pain, the augmentin did NOTHING and I went to the ER. The ER doctor was concerned about my family history and me being a smoker, and recommended a CAT scan and a spinal tap! I had both. I also insisted he do a full sinus scan. The CAT and Tap came back normal. My sinuses were a "little cloudy" on the left side.
Avatar m tn If you do have a chronic sinus infection, typical antibiotic treatment is for 4-6 weeks. A nasal steroid spray is also beneficial as well as oral steroids. A short course of steroids are given if the inflammation is severe and is unlikely to cause any untoward effects, more so as it is given in tapering dose. Nasal saline irrigations over the counter like NeilMed or Neti pot are very effective, but worsen Eustachian tube dysfunction (water in the ears or feeling of fullness in the ears).
Avatar m tn Same partner for 1 year 5 mo. He tested neg for hsv 1 and 2 1 month ago, I was neg 2 months ago. Igg test. I took 1 diflucan 150mg last day of antibiotic as a precaution.
Avatar f tn m pretty sure it DID help the sinus infection/congestion, but for the last few days the shakiness, leg weakness, and occasional hot and sweaty feeling has been back. My left cheek and neck are a little swollen and feel sore, too, which started again last night. The hot and shaky and weak thing is really bad tonight. I can hardly do anything without getting shaky and sick. It feels like when you have the flu and you're so sick you can barely do anything.
Avatar n tn Taking antibiotics because of a sinus infection.
237053 tn?1258828426 Hey everyone, Well I went and saw a new dr this morning. He is redoing the Lymes test this time using the Western Blot. He's also checking for vitamin def.,and auto immune (again). They still have no idea what is going on with me. I told him I was still concerned about MS and he told me he was sure it wasn't being that I have had all MRIs years apart. I hope he is right!
Avatar n tn I forgot to mention now I am back on the meds... I am on augmentin and alegra... Augmentin for 14 days... I just don't want to keep taking medication all the time... It has been going on for about a year + now.... I did have a bad cold but mostly I could not breath and severely stuffy and when I blowed it was green and bloody.. Then my throat became mildy sore... NOW finally I can breath again..... Just back to that same old congestion.... It tastes bad,,,, it is just not fun to have..
Avatar n tn That definitely sounds like a fungal infection. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for well over a month now. It was so bad that I was going to the doctor daily for IV antibiotics. I was sent to the ENT who suctioned my ear and found I had a fungal infection. My ear drum also had a small perforation which affected my hearing some. He had me continue with the antibiotics and gave me eardrops. The eardrops smelled like vinegar and burned.
Avatar m tn Scared I called my doctor, yet he told me that it is a side effect that is common with the high dose of augmentin I recieved. I finished the augmentin and I have no sore throat just thrush I recently started an anti fungal for it though. So I have some questions. 1.When someone contracts HIV are symptoms spread out like this? 2. Is 6 weeks too late to have symptoms of ARS? 3. Do you think that the thrush is medication related or HIV related, would it show up after 3 months?
Avatar f tn I've had a sinus infection for five days and have been on antibiotics (augmentin, or amoxicillin) for 2.5 days (5 doses) already and have seen no improvement. I am in so much pain and am worried about my unborn baby's health. Does anyone have experience with this? Shouldn't the antibiotics be working at least a little by now? I'm halfway through the prescription.
Avatar f tn When the mucous becomes green or yellow, you now are into bacterial, take your augmentin
Avatar f tn I have a sinus infection and was prescribed a Z pack and it didn't really help. I went back and got prescribed augmentin. I have been taking it for 3 days and now i have a pretty bad nasal drip going on in the back of my throat. I also have panic disorder and pretty much need to know that I am okay all the time. Is this normal? Is there a possibility of something awful happening from a nasal drip?
Avatar f tn I have a really bad sinus and upper respiratory infection and the medication I was prescribed (augmentin) isn't getting rid of it. I was wondering if anyone knows of any medications I can take that will just make my nose stop running.
Avatar m tn The sinus flush part was for the left side infection. Yes, continue with antibiotics for the dental infection, as those follow the usual medical model for infections.
