long standing sinus infection,had amoxicillin,now on 2weeks of augmentin,have 2 days left,developed itchy red areas on body ?

My chest x ray is normal but the doctor could not do a pft because of my continuous cough at that time. My blood work for pneumonia diabetes and cholesterol are all good. sinus CT scan is normal too. Is this viral is it okay to take several months for cough to go away. I have no wheezing or asthma history. could this be lung infection? Please help.

ent said i might have had a left over infection that never cleared up so he prescribed augmentin antibiotic. at night i take phenergan with codeine to help me sleep. during the day i get bad headaches so i take either tylenol or advil and then i take the prednisone and the augmentin antibiotic. ah my head is throbbing right now...combination sinus infection and probably allergies...aaaargh i know how you feel...

About 2 weeks ago I started having some sinus issues, I think due t the weather and now I have had a headache for almost 2 weeks In both temples and behind my eyes. Nothing will get rid of it. She put me on Augmentin for 8 days for a sinus infection and said that she saw fluid behind my left eardrum. After the 8th day of pain, the augmentin did NOTHING and I went to the ER. The ER doctor was concerned about my family history and me being a smoker, and recommended a CAT scan and a spinal tap! I had both. I also insisted he do a full sinus scan. The CAT and Tap came back normal. My sinuses were a "little cloudy" on the left side.

Hey everyone, Well I went and saw a new dr this morning. He is redoing the Lymes test this time using the Western Blot. He's also checking for vitamin def.,and auto immune (again). I forgot to mention now I am back on the meds... I am on augmentin and alegra... Augmentin for 14 days... I just don't want to keep taking medication all the time... That definitely sounds like a fungal infection. I've had a sinus infection and ear infection for well over a month now. It was so bad that I was going to the doctor daily for IV antibiotics.
