augmentin and mastitis

because of redness, swelling and pain in my left breast. He said that he believed it was mastitis but sent me for a mammogram and sonogram which both came back fine. However, I have now developed a pain and what feels like a lump under my arm and these pus filled pimple like things on the red and swollen area of my breast. should I be worried about this. I also had blood work done four days before the original symptoms appeared that came back fine. Please help me.

I had mastitis/abscesses all the way through my pregnancies and ended up in hospital with a drain in my breast to remove the rubbish I had repeated anti~biotic which I was not happy about but the babies both came out with no effects from the anti~biotic so don't worry to much.

So i was deciding not to BF any more but i wasnt sure when would be a good time, since i have mastitis and the medication that im on the ER dr told me to pump and dump for the next 10 days, so i figured this would be a good time to stop BF. My question is does the mastitis go away from the antibiotics or do i need to pump, I was hopn by me not pumping my supply would dry up and the mastitis would clear up from the antibiotics.

so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.

I've been breastfeeding for 1.5 years and experienced mastitis for abour 3, 4 times. But for the past days my right nipple became really painful when I nursed. The nipple looks just fine, but i feel a small and hard lump in the nipple where the pain locates. I saw my ob-gyn yesterday but she didn't feel it and didn't think anything wrong with it. But she suggested i see a surgeon if it lasts for another week. The lump is just there how come she didn't feel it?

Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.

Has anyone had to deal with mastitis and or breast abscess? I had my baby last week and I've either got mastitis or breast abscesses AGAIN /: i was trying to pump but i can't deal with the pain anymore yet I'm scared to stop >< did anyone give up or stop breastfeeding/pumping? What was your outcome?

I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working. I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18. Thank you!!

My lung Doctor called me in some augmentin because I have been coughing up thick yellow mucus. I just don't know if I can take it on treatment. Does anyone know??

If you are having bleeding from your nipple, I'd get seen by a doctor. Agree it could be mastitis or an infection. See a doctor and let us know what they say!!!

Hi I have been diagnosed with Mycobacterium Mageritense in the breasts both and that has also caused Granulomatous Mastitis. I was on antibiotics for all of that time (doxy which addresses the corynebacterium) and a few months ago had a six week course of steriods which cleared up the last bit of the inflamation. I tried the augmentin and metronidazole about 6 months ago with no result - I think this only cures women who have the acute as opposed to the chronic form of this condition. I never had a fever with my mastitis but did have extreme fatigue.

It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife. The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.

was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.

Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.

Hi my whole neck both sides and the front is so swollen and rock hard also my clavicle and the top of one breast and under one armpit all rock hard. Swollowing is becoming difficult and I feel breathless even when not moving. I am sick most days and have been having pain in my neck at the front, both sides, lower abdomen and back for a few weeks now.

I googled Mastitis as I was told by her having thrush and me breastfeeding that I for certain also had contracted yeast onto my nipples. About two days ago it felt like a ton of bricks had fell onto me, I am having body aches, tender breast/nipples fever and chills. I phoned the dr and was told more that likely I have Mastitis, antibio was phoned in for me also. I know that you can get this infection from blocked ducts, but is it possible to contact it via thrush from my little one?

I went to my family MD with a breast lump, lump under my arm, and all the classic Mastitis symptoms. Mammogram and ultrasound did not detect a problem. 4 rounds of antibiotics and 2 rounds of steroids later, still have a lump. Had a repeat ultrasound last week that detected a 1cm by 3/4 cm lump and 5 enlarged lymph nodes. Biopsies on both came back benign, thank God!

Thanks, i've been on anitbiotics for 1 day and it's pretty much gone. I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow but i'm almost sure it's not IBC. Thanks very much for the advice.
