I have just gotten over bronchitis two weeks ago and not much rest with being a teacher and all. I took augmentin for 10 days and it really cleared me up. A few days later after last dosage I began yellowish post nasal drip and tightness in chest. Urgent care gave me an inhaler and said to take Claritin D. Claritin D cleared me up on day 1 but all congested again on day 2. They gave me a zpack as a backup. Do you think this is something more? Chest still feels heavy not coughing.
If i did, will i transmit it to my wife the next day? I am currently on Augmentin 1G for acute bronchitis, will it treat Syphilis? Im more worried about my wife.
Worth to mention, before the appearance of the canker my wife did a filler re-touch to her lips and in the same night the canker appeared.
Do i need testing? And when?

Anyway, he asked about meds and I said no. Of course, when I got home, I remembered that i had bronchitis prior to my blood taken:
1. I took augmentin 500 mg. for 10 days - 2 X a day from Feb. 2- feb 12
2. I did some NYQUIL - probably 5 night's worth
3. I had taken approx. 10 tylenol p.m. for 5 nights as well during that time
4. I took 16 SENEKOT pills as I was on a low carb diet ( senna)
Was the above enough for the period of time I took it - - all about 3 weeks before the blood test.
I have been getting over a recent bout of bronchitis where I was prescribed Augmentin (I am on Day 6) and Prednisone short burst (finished 2 days ago) I am still coughing quite bad but the fever has broke... but as of yesterday the phlegm/mucus I am coughing up tastes extremely salty. I have not been using any type of saline spray, or gargling with salt water, so I know this is not the reason. Is it the antibiotics causing this? Or is there another reason?
10 -day course of .875 MG Augmentin with pulmicort + albuterol nebulizer treatments, and Nasonex. Some improvement -- lung function up to 81%.
3. 3-week course of 2 MG Augmentin, higher dose of symbicort (no nebulizers), and Nasonex. By January 6, my lung function was up to 92%, which was for me, normal.
The allergist still thought I had a sinus infection, so she recommended a sinus CT scan, which showed no infection.

So I went to the doctor cause I thought I was getting pneumonia and the Doc had me do a PFT (which was low at 70 percent) and a blood O2 test (94 percent) and said that I had bronchitis and put me on some prednisone and a z-pack. After I finshed my meds I still felt the same. So I set up another appointment and right before I went in I started to feel better but my tests only showed I improved ten percent.
The z-pac is great but remember it's a five day prescription that keeps working for ten days, which means it takes a while to get at the infection. Personally, for me, the z-pac never works for any lung infection, bronchitis or pneumonia; and I always end up on Augmentin. If you're still in pain tomorrow, maybe you should go to the ER. In the past, if the z-pac didn't work the first time, my doctor always prescribed a different antibiotic.

Before going in for surgery i was diagnosed with bronchitis and they told me it , i could still get it done. It was same day simple surgery . 2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn .
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Follow up with Pulm realized no coughing at night and diagnosed with Protracted Bronchitis. Treated 3 weeks of Augmentin 500mg BID x three weeks. Nasal and throat cultures test negative except for rhinovirus. Albuterol (qid) Combivent (BID) combined treatment resolved shortness of breath finally so dropped albuterol and combivent... but cough still persists. Follow up again with Pulm increased dosage of Flovent to 110.
You have a sinus infection and that is the green. I had the same thing and every morning I had congestion and dried on my throat and also I would blow and it would be green. If you have brown congestion that could only be dried blood, have you blown really hard??? You need a cortizone nasal spray and also antibiotics for 7-10 days. Augmentin is the best but there is also Amoxicillin, Bactrum, etc....
2 weeks later, after coughing constantly, bad neck, face and headaches, he prescribed Augmentin. No difference after 10 days later. Still heavy coughing. Took chest xray, sinus xray, blood work, EKG...had thalium stress test 2 months ago....all normal results. No pneumonia, bronchitis, or strep throat. After a month and not being able to breathe right....my doctor prescribed a steroid. Immediatly began blowing up, dry mouth, tightness in chest....
It is highly likely that Augmentin in the dose and duration I just recommended would abort incubating gonorrhea -- which almost certainly you didn't catch anyway. You can safely take the drug then continue unprotected sex with your wife.
The problem here isn't just STD; you apparently are reacting emotionally to the sexual event, perhaps conflicted about your own sexual orientation or preferences. But this isn't a counseling service, so that will be all for this thread.
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.
Augmentin will affect your pill. The other one I do not know about. It probably takes a couple of days for the antiboitics to get out of your system. You might wanna use a second form of protection just in case.
He thought I had a secondary infection in the uterus and gave me Augmentin to take along with the other I am taking. It has been 36 hours and my breast is still really red and sore. I don't know what to do! I am worried that it may lead to sepsis?? Or should I not be worried since I am taking augmentin? It is the weekend, so I can't call my doc again. I haven't had a recurrence of fever or chills. Was the fever just a symtom of Mastitis?
What is going on with us??? At least 3 times each night we both wake up (alternating times) not being able to breath, choking and gasping for air. We do produce some clear sticky mucus sometimes. Our airways are closing up while sleeping (inclined mind you). Also during waking hours maybe 3-5 times per day this happens. The rest of the time, we're just fine, even during exercise.
