atripla

1012649 tn?1256229718 Hi. My doctor recently changed my meds from Atripla to the same combination but in two tablets which is Sustiva and Truvada which has emtricitibine in it too. I checked, and these are the same ingredients in Atripla. He changed it because I had a "blip" in my viral load. Viral load was at one point after taking Atripla "undedectable" for about 10 months, then went up to 45 then 3 months later tp 65.
Avatar m tn Atripla is not the first line drug for nPEP and it's not given for a month.
Avatar m tn I had sex with prostitute on 01 Nov 2012 with condom but the condom broke after ejaculation.. and after 4 to 5 days i had symptoms like red body rash with small pimples.. 01 Dec 2012 i went to doctor and he took my elisa test which was negative and he suggested me to take trustiva ( atripla ) for next 3 months and do my elisa again. then i went to other doctor and he said how the first doctor can put u on trustiva ( atripla ) as ur result elisa test is negative....
Avatar m tn My son was resently raped, we have started him on the Atripla with in 12 hours after the attack and i am so hopefull after reading your wife is Negative.
Avatar n tn About a month ago I was with a female prostitute. Though we had safe penetration intercourse with a condom I performed oral sex on her and she on me as well. Last week I became symptomatic; swollen lymph nodes, pain in armpits and groin, fever, mild candida, tiredness. I went to my primary Dr, he gave me an Elisa, that came up negative this week. Before recieving the results, I took an expired home test that came up positive.
Avatar n tn Hello Doctor, you are right and i completely agree with you ... i know my risk was very minimal and both doctors explained that for me ... but they both said better be safe than sorry ... i have no doubts about the PEP that the current doctor gave ... the only concern i have is that it's written that i should not take Atripla with Combivir nor kaletra ... (obviously the doctor dismissed that ...
Avatar f tn I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
Avatar m tn I was on Atripla (with Tenofovir) and my hip bone became nearly inoperable. It affected my bones big time. Since then, I was told I had Periodontal Disease, but I don't believe it's a disease. My teeth are spotless. I floss twice daily and brush gently. I never drink soda or candy. I even gave up on alcohol. I think it's an issue of digestion and food quality. GMOs surfaced in our foods in 1996.
Avatar n tn My partner was exposed to hiv during anal intercourse and is currently taking my Atripla. I am undetectable. Should we continue the Atripla or should he be on nPEP at all ??
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed in dec after a 5day stay in hospital discharged as neg but tild to call doc in 3days some blood work was not ready. Ehen we called they told him to go seea doc they started him on atripla. He is doing fine but he says he is neg the test r wrong. I don't want to sound stupid but since I am still neg I recently started to wonder if he is right.
Avatar n tn I am a gay male who is HIV- (one previous partner in last 6 months [3 months ago] tested negative 3 days ago). I began dating a guy a couple weeks ago and early this week, we were foolish and began having unprotected anal intercourse. I was the top and entered him (with lubrication) for approximately one minute (tops--probably more like 15 seconds). We stopped, but then later, I re-entered him (no lubrication) for approximately one more minute before stopping. I did not ejaculate in him.
Avatar m tn Atripla is not a good choice then.
Avatar m tn I had protected anal sex 3 days ago with a guy who claims to be clean. The following day I went to the doctor and told him that the guy gave a blowjob without me having a condom on my penis. I'm so worried about HIV that I asked the doctor for PEP and he gave me Atripla for 30 days. I'm so scared! I keep reading that it's a low risk almost zero to get HIV from getting a blow job. Is this still true?
Avatar m tn FYI, it would seem you are confusing CD4 count with viral load. VL can become undectable with Atripla (and would be very good news!). But CD4 would not change or would rise. I would advise that you learn these detals. Over the years, survival with HIV is best in patients who understand their test results and can converse knowledgably with their doctors about it. Your doctor or case manager will be happy to help educate you.
Avatar m tn t quite agree with your doctor totally, but many do have quick success with Atripla. Then again many people do not - you can count me as one of those people. I took it for 8 months before I switched - my viral load was around 300 at the time. Ultimately Reyataz worked out better (we think?). Don't get dismayed, sometimes it takes some searching to find the right combination for you. I've had a hard time myself with that and keeping my viral load down.
Avatar f tn I had unprotected sex last nite with a male. He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?
Avatar n tn On October the 22nd 2016 I had a broken condom with a female friend of mine during vaginal intercourse. After which, we went to go get tested for safety measures and it was discovered that she was HIV positive and I was negative. She was completely blind sided and devastated. I went onto PEP (Atripla) within 5 hrs and completed the 30 day course of PEP. It is currently 11 weeks post PEP. I went for an hiv rapid prick test at 6,7,8 and 11 weeks post PEP and all have been negative.
Avatar f tn Good day all. I am taking atripla as pep. I am reading scary stuff that hiv could be resistant to are drugs. Is it possible that the hiv strain could be resistant to all 3 components of atripla rendering it useless? Two components are the same as truvada.
Avatar m tn Perhaps you should discuss your fears with your father, and maybe go with him to an appointment with his infectious disease specialist. It's important that you understand the risks so that you don't live in fear. The only realistic risks are: 1) having unprotected anal or vaginal sex, or 2) sharing intravenous injection equipment.

Avatar m tn On Friday morning I came to my senses and took 2 Kaletra and 1 Truvada and set a plan so I wouldn’t mess it up and that’s the regiment I will stick too. I will take the 3 pills every morning with food at 8am then the 2 pills every evening at 6pm for the 1 month period.
1519485 tn?1318867173 HIYA! I decided to join and help Getright77! I've been positive for 3 years. Any questions or if anyone feels like talking to someone with experience on ARV's -both Atripla and a tri-therapy of Riva-Kivexa-tra .
