dear my test on Researche of virus HIV using ARN PCR was done 11 days after taking Atripla which was unedtectable . my last 4th generation test was done 18 days after last dose of Atripla. no Agn and no Ac detected. so i heard that the test ARN PCR is very sensitiva and could be definitive after 20 days is it right?

I found out on Dec 17th, 2009 that I was HIV+. It's been a troubling 5 months to say the least!!! I can't sleep; I am ALWAYS tired; I have no endurance and get winded very quickly; I get pounding headaches when I exert myself; etc,
On Dec 17th, 2009, my Viral load was 55000 but CD4 was not tested as of yet
My test results on Jan 11/10: CD4 380; CD4% 24%; Viral Load 30000
My test results on Feb 08/10: CD4 340; CD4% 28%; Viral Load 44000.
I am a gay male who is HIV- (one previous partner in last 6 months [3 months ago] tested negative 3 days ago). I began dating a guy a couple weeks ago and early this week, we were foolish and began having unprotected anal intercourse. I was the top and entered him (with lubrication) for approximately one minute (tops--probably more like 15 seconds). We stopped, but then later, I re-entered him (no lubrication) for approximately one more minute before stopping. I did not ejaculate in him.
I was on Atripla (with Tenofovir) and my hip bone became nearly inoperable. It affected my bones big time. Since then, I was told I had Periodontal Disease, but I don't believe it's a disease. My teeth are spotless. I floss twice daily and brush gently. I never drink soda or candy. I even gave up on alcohol. I think it's an issue of digestion and food quality.

Late at night on 6/11, I had brief unprotected insertive vaginal intercourse with a 22 year old CSW (stripper in Vegas) of unknown risk. I've read on this site that very few CSWs in North America are HIV positive, but she was Asian (she said Japanese, but I don't really know) with a pretty thick accent, so I don't know how long she has been in this country.
The potential exposure lasted no longer than 30 seconds and there was no ejaculation.
I had sex with prostitute on 01 Nov 2012 with condom but the condom broke after ejaculation.. and after 4 to 5 days i had symptoms like red body rash with small pimples.. 01 Dec 2012 i went to doctor and he took my elisa test which was negative and he suggested me to take trustiva ( atripla ) for next 3 months and do my elisa again. then i went to other doctor and he said how the first doctor can put u on trustiva ( atripla ) as ur result elisa test is negative....
Hello Doctor, you are right and i completely agree with you ... i know my risk was very minimal and both doctors explained that for me ... but they both said better be safe than sorry ...
i have no doubts about the PEP that the current doctor gave ... the only concern i have is that it's written that i should not take Atripla with Combivir nor kaletra ... (obviously the doctor dismissed that ...
t quite agree with your doctor totally, but many do have quick success with Atripla. Then again many people do not - you can count me as one of those people. I took it for 8 months before I switched - my viral load was around 300 at the time. Ultimately Reyataz worked out better (we think?).
Don't get dismayed, sometimes it takes some searching to find the right combination for you. I've had a hard time myself with that and keeping my viral load down.
I started meds fairly soon after. I started Atripla in 2010. It got be undetectable quickly and has kept that way. I never had major bad side effects on it. I did have some crazy dreams and still do. After I was on it for a couple years, things began to slowly deteriorate. I began getting panic attacks, and bouts of tachycardia and palpitations. I had a history of those but it seemed to get worse.
FYI, it would seem you are confusing CD4 count with viral load. VL can become undectable with Atripla (and would be very good news!). But CD4 would not change or would rise. I would advise that you learn these detals. Over the years, survival with HIV is best in patients who understand their test results and can converse knowledgably with their doctors about it. Your doctor or case manager will be happy to help educate you.
My husband was diagnosed in dec after a 5day stay in hospital discharged as neg but tild to call doc in 3days some blood work was not ready. Ehen we called they told him to go seea doc they started him on atripla. He is doing fine but he says he is neg the test r wrong. I don't want to sound stupid but since I am still neg I recently started to wonder if he is right.
I AM CURRENTLY TAKING ATRIPLA WHICH IS JUT ONE PILL AT BEDTIME AND WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE MEDICINE IS VERY COOL. ONCE YOUR VIRAL LOAD GOES BELOW 50 IT BECOMES UNDETECTABLE. WHICH IS WHERE YOUR ID DOCTOR WANTS YOU TO BE IF YOU HAVE ONE TEAK IS RIGHT YOU NEED TO GET AN ID DOCTOR. THEY WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT HOW TO TREAT YOU.
I had protected anal sex 3 days ago with a guy who claims to be clean. The following day I went to the doctor and told him that the guy gave a blowjob without me having a condom on my penis. I'm so worried about HIV that I asked the doctor for PEP and he gave me Atripla for 30 days. I'm so scared! I keep reading that it's a low risk almost zero to get HIV from getting a blow job. Is this still true?
I had unprotected sex last nite with a male. He did not ejaculate inside me, however it was unprotected. Later today I saw in his cabinet the medication atripla which I found out is for the treatment of HIV. I have not been able to discuss my finding with him as of yet, but I'm very very concerned. I went to a late operating clinic that advised me to see a specialist. However, Im curious as to the prophylaxis meds and how they work. Could someone help me on what I should do next?
On October the 22nd 2016 I had a broken condom with a female friend of mine during vaginal intercourse. After which, we went to go get tested for safety measures and it was discovered that she was HIV positive and I was negative. She was completely blind sided and devastated. I went onto PEP (Atripla) within 5 hrs and completed the 30 day course of PEP. It is currently 11 weeks post PEP. I went for an hiv rapid prick test at 6,7,8 and 11 weeks post PEP and all have been negative.
