At first he would hiss and growl anytime anybody even just walked past his kennel. Every time I was at the shelter I would stop outside his kennel and talk to him for a couple of minutes, ignoring his hisses and growls, or rather treating them like they were just his responses to our little conversations. After a few days, I would open his kennel gate to have the conversations, a few more days and I started to put my hand in the kennel.

The only new things are going to the dog park and he is sleeping in his kennel again. he used to always sleep in the kennel but she started letting him stay out. he is back in as he gets into things at night. I would also check for lymes disease. Is he in a kennel? If so, what are you cleaning the kennel with. If he is in a kennel he may be jumping upright too much and causing stress to his hind legs. Also, even tho he is ofa certified is there a chance he tore his ACL? There is something else that a friend dealt with but I can't remember what it was called, sounds exactly what you are describing. The toenails would not be an issue unless they tore off.

No vaccine is 100% effective, and if the coughing is that severe she should be on medicine to surpress her cough, because the cough itself can cause irritation, and pain.

I have spoken with my vet about kennel cough, but the cough does not sound like the dry, hacking cough of kennel cough. It is a very congested sounding cough. Also, we have had her on multiple doses of antibiotics, some of which were some very high-powered ones in combination with a low-dose steriod, which carry some very serious side effects for such a tiny puppy.
I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen. Initally did much better on this one so I'm not sure how yaz/yasmin works but I can say my withdrawal bleed "period" got way longer on it- I used to only bleed for 4 days on Aleese, then gradually this increased and due to weight gain and water retention switched to Yasmin...
Rat Terriers are famous for their boundless energy and enthusiasm for chewing things up, especially when they are young like yours. I suggest kennel-training. Buy a kennel big enough for a bed, food and water, plus enough room to play with a half a dozen toys you will add. The toys should be various types: a rubber ball (big enough not to get caught in his mouth), a large rawhide, a stuffed animal he can chew up, a rope-toy, and maybe an old sneaker with laces and eyelets removed.
