appendicitis

Avatar m tn I have pain on my left abdomen (upper left waist to be exact), the pain is rebound tenderness. It started around December of 2009, so it’s already been with me for almost 5 month. The severity of the pain changes, from a scale of 1-10, is anywhere from 2-7.
301640 tn?1302652334 thanks for that yep it feels tender anddoes still hurt i will go this afternoon
Avatar n tn My 9yr son just was in ER for right lower quad. pain, rebound tenderness, low grade fever, vomited x1, not wanting to eat very much. Initally thought was getting the stomach flu until he didn't persist with the vomiting or had diarrea. In ER Abdominal XRAY was done- results large amount of stool and gas on right side. Blood work checked- Mono and crp slightly evalated ( not enough for them to say appendicitis). they gave a popsicle to him that caused him to have increased painin RLQ.
Avatar m tn Over the past two or three days I have had a slight discomfort in my right groin/side. I went to the doctor today, and after blood and urine came back normal, she said that I still might have appendicitis and said I might want to get a CT, though I don't show normal symptoms other than pain in my RLQ. The pain isn't constant and it isn't severe and hasn't really gotten any worse.
Avatar m tn nor do I have really any problems when I walk (except for the fact that I sprained my right knee four days ago and have a limp) or move about nor do I really have any rebound tenderness, though I do think because I have tested myself so far over the past two days that I have probably created more sensitivity.
Avatar m tn There's a strong possibility it's not appendicitis (typical to have rebound tenderness), though you might want to get it professionally ruled out with a doctor's physical examination, etc. and I believe they do a blood test to check for that too. Without the bulge when you cough, it seems unlikely to be a hernia, but you mention lifting, so that doesn't rule out a muscle strain of some kind (a doctor might be able to determine this sort of thing with trained probing fingers).
Avatar n tn Hi... usually appendcitis can be diagnosed clinically. It presents firstly as a generalized abdominal pains which later shifts to the right lower quadrant. Some physical exam findings which support its diagnosis includes rebound tenderness, orbturator's sign, psoas sign. You can also present with fever. If the doctor said it was not, probably he/she must have noted that you don't have an acute abdomen. And since you are a female, it can also be UTI.
Avatar m tn Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course? What has prompted my question is that I had two episodes yesterday, one in the morning and a very severe bout in the evening. I keep thinking this will just go away especially when I'm pain free and I forget about it.
Avatar m tn I have a kidney stone problem(2-3 mm), 1 overian cyst and colonical tenderness in paraumbillical region. Have a pain near right side of navel. Not able to recognize because of which problem I am having this type of pain. Is this because cyst, stone or colonical tenderness? Please suggest.
Avatar f tn I'm scared out of my mind that I have appendicitis but also I don't know whether it could be something psychological or a muscle pull. It's in my abdominal area, kind of lower but sometimes goes up and on the right hand side. I've been passing gas a bit which relieves me a bit but the achy pain is still there.
1852495 tn?1319545790 Thanks for the reply. I've considered the appendicitis idea. Tried to see if I had the rebound tenderness they have talked about but didn't get it. I'm not pregnant. Had a TL 11 years ago and they did do the test to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I just wish the doctor would have a least tried to figure it out rather than treat me like I'm crazy.
Avatar f tn I have lower abdominal pain, constipation, 99° temp, nausea, but no rebound pain. I’ve had this since saturday and it’s just getting worse. should i go to the doctor or just wait?
Avatar f tn So currently not having major pain just slight discomfort in that area I was thinking could this be from the rough night I had due to drinking or so I go and check it out was kind of worried when I saw that it could be something pretty dangerous left untreated but I was also thinking if it was appendicitis I would probably be feeling alot more pain.
Avatar m tn Ok I'm completely confused about what just happened to me. 2 days ago I went to school perfectly fine, evening came around and felt normal. The following morning at about 6 AM I woke up with quite a bit of pain in my lower right abdominal area. I had no injuries the prior day. I had a bowel movement before leaving my house but the pain did not go away. I had an exam that day to get my Forklift certification and the pain got so bad I could not focus.
Avatar f tn This morning I woke up with a pain in my lower right abdomen. Its a constant dull pain, about a 4 or 5 on the 1-10 scale. The main pain is about directly 2-3inches to the left of my ASIS. It feels a little bit better when I'm sitting up instead of laying down. I have been going to the bathroom alot more than normal, but the stool is pretty normal, not diarhea.
Avatar n tn Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated. The pain of appendicitis is severe and may be influenced by movement and certain positions. I suggest immediate consult with your doctor.
1207048 tn?1282174304 I have only had Solu-Medrol treatment twice for my symptoms. Both of them I took the taper pills afterward. I didn't get rebound symptoms the first time I had it. I am on the taper pills now for the second time, so I don't know yet if I will have rebound symptoms. I sure hope not!! lol I do know that I am cautious with steroids. I do not take them lightly. They can do some major damage to your body (definitely to your kidneys) that cannot be taken back.
Avatar m tn Been dizzy and tired a lot. No rebound pain like appendicitis. But it does hurt to press on. Should I go to ER? I don't have insurance. My OBGYN wants to be paid up front for an ultra sound and I can't afford it. What could it be and what should I do? I'm 30 yrs old with a 2 1/2 yr old and a 5 month old. Miserable and tired of hurting. Also, my periods bleed more but don't hurt any worse.
Avatar n tn Hello! I have joined this community in the hope that someone can help me! I am a female, 25 years old and I have been suffering from abdominal pain for years. The pain is usually in the right side, mid-way between my bellybutton and my hip. At times the pain is sharp and stabbing and causes me to double over in pain - I would give it a 7 out of 10 for intensity. Other times the pain on my right side is dull and aching, and sometimes this is replaced with a burning sensation.
Avatar m tn Doing more research on the matter i find my symptoms resemble Clostridium Difficile Colitis. I have taken large amounts of non prescription Amoxicillin over the last few years due to abscesses in my teeth and lack of dental insurance. I'm going to give some Pro-biotics and Yogurt a try and see if it helps. I am still open to any suggestions though. Thanx again.
590110 tn?1367506741 Hello, I guess I'll jump right into it. In 22 weeks pregnant and I have this tenderness on the right side of my stomach... It started around 4 or 5pm today, it hurts. Like if I push on down it hurts or if I roll over it hurts. It's only on the right side, given my high risk should I be worried???
Avatar f tn Lower right quadrant abdominal pain is also a sign of appendicitis. If you are laying on your back and press on the sore spot and you get a sharp pain when you press and it even hurts as you release pressure it could be appendicitis. Your pain may be unrelated to your pregnancy. Did they rule out appendicitis or even ovarian cyst or maybe even gas?
