The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.

They saw what they thought was a blockage in the upper right quadrant. They checked my pee and it came out came out completely normal. Then they took some blood and the only that was abnormal was my MCHC was a little low at 32.4. They were afraid I might have appendicitis so they gave me a C.T.

Avatar n tn My question is. I get pains in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. I have contact nausea and slight unsteadiness. I have had a CT of my head and a ECG of my heart to rule out anything extremely serious. At times the nausea gets soo bad i feel like i may faint. Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking.
Avatar m tn It hurts to walk and I must sit down with great care, I have performed some of the tests for appendicitis such as lying supine with my right leg bent and pushing over to the left...this results in much pain. Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away.
Avatar f tn I would strongly recommend seeing a physician rather than wasting time in an internet forum. One possibility would be your gallbladder but appendicitis would also be likely. A three day delay in seeking medical attention would usually result in perforation.

Avatar f tn Using the nipple as the reference point for the midline of the breast, a cluster of calcifications may shift above or below the midline when viewed from the true lateral (side) mammogram vs the craniocaudral (viewed from above) mammagram. In other words, the cluster of calcifications may appear above or below the midline of the breast depending upon the direction of compression during a mammogram.
Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.

Shoddy right lower quadrant mesenteric lymph nodeds noted." yet the surgeon didnt think it was SEVERE enough to operate. then the ultrasound (after the Cipro and Flagyl) says "The appendix is seen in the right lower quadrant, measures no more than 3 mm in thickness, is not hypervascular, and appears compresable.
Avatar f tn HI, Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated. The answer is based on information provided.

Avatar f tn Until I can get an answer from a Radiologist I'll throw this question out for discussion. Avatar n tn Your appendix may hurt initially around the belly button. But then the pain moves to the lower right quadrant. When you press on your stomach if it's constipation it will hurt when you press... if it hurts more when you let go, it's usually the appendix. There usually is fever, chills and nausea with appendicitis - not necessarily with constipation. But extreme constipation can also be life threatening. See a doctor.

Avatar n tn Hi, I have had a sharp pains under my right rib (seems to be under the last rib) for many years now. It always went away fairly quickly, so I never worried about it too much. I used to find relief if I held my breath and rolled over on my right side (the side that hurts). However, lately the pain has been for days at a time and nothing helps. During the worst times, it hurts to breath in at all, I can't move my right arm or rotate. I can't sleep on my side and am in constant pain.
