Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis location in body

appendicitis

Avatar n tn Since traditional medicine has us convinced that our parts function separately rather than as a single operating system, its hard to fathom that a problem in one part of the body can manifest as a symptom in another. However, GI problems can --> a myriad of other symptoms throughout the body. Food ingredients like gluten can make our own immune system begin to attack our own body.
Avatar f tn my five year old son experienced a nose bleed in school yesterday during an outing for lunch. The teacher described it as a significant amount of blood but I can not give an exact estimate on volume. she stated that it soaked a formal dining room napkin. he stated that his throat started to hurt him and then the nose bleed started. Today he is complaining of abdominal pain and refuses to eat. He also has a temp 101.6.
Avatar m tn “Unusual hazy soft tissue density structure along the right lateral heart within the pericardial fat, its density is similar to thymus, however, this would be an unusual location as the thymus is no in the superior anterior chest, possibly ectopic thymus or mass. RECOMMEND CT of the chest without contrast for further evaluation.” Has anyone had something similar? What could this possibly be?
Avatar n tn Please call your doc and request to be seen and perhaps to have some liver and pancreatic enzyme level tests done. The location of the pain can be a bit 'tricky' but in some who have had gallbladder issues that resulted in irritation to the common bile duct, postcholecystectomy problems could be related to that irritation.
7730266 tn?1393887862 You did describe pain in the exact location of the appendix. If the pain was a little higher and closer to your back it could be the kidney. But you are more likely to feel kidney pain on the left side of the body. Often times an inflamed or infected appendix can be treated very easily with antibiotics. However, If you ignore it and it bursts, you could die. On the other hand, it could just be indigestion. If the pain is bad you should go to the doctor immediately. Only you can judge.
Avatar m tn When I eventually reached out for help in early September I was rushed to the E.R. for a possible appendicitis. The CT Scan in the E.R. showed that I had borderline appendicitis due to the appendicitis not filling with the contrast fully and the mesenteric lymph nodes of the area being “shoddy”. I was given Cipro and Flagyl for two weeks to see if that would fight the infection. After an ultrasound, they found my appendix healed completely.
782550 tn?1333484257 I am feeling a pain in a location i am not used to. my lower abdomen on the left side has been killing me for the past two days. I have had daily BM's but not as comfortable or as frequent as usual. So I assumed I was a bit dehydrated or maybe constipated. But I'm not sure anymore.
Avatar f tn my brother recently had a stabbing pain in the right flank area of his back. the next day he experienced the same pain but on the front opposite side of his body. on the third day he still had the stabbing pain. on the fourth day in the areas of stabbing pain it was numb to the touch. he described the numbness as when your leg goes to sleep. he is a white male, 25yrs of age. he has had previous issues with kidney stones since he was a freshman in highschool.
Avatar f tn I have been having pains in my left side of my abdomen below the ribcage. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy today and they came back normal. I have no desire to eat only 1 meal per day and I have been vomitting up the food when I eat it. The pain does not go away. It is a dull pain. I have had my gallbladder out for years. The docto said he was going to run another test.
Avatar f tn i am a 22 yr old girl, unmarried, i was having continuous pain for 2 days in my lower abdominal. today morning at 5 i had swear pain i went to the doc, they asked me for blood test, urine test n ultrasound, urine test showed some sign of appendix but ultra sound didnt, they sent me home n gave some pain killers! now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it?
Avatar n tn You have mentioned that you were diagnosed with appendicitis. Was an appendectomy done? In this case I would suggest that an abdominal ultrasound may be done to ascertain the cause of the pain. A baseline urinalyis and urine culture may also be helpful to determine if infections or urinary tract stones may be present. I do not think the fungal infection has been causing the pain. Unless the area is swollen and severely infected the tenderness may be noted when the skin is palpated.
Avatar f tn According to WebMD diagnosing appendicitis can be tricky: "Symptoms of appendicitis are frequently vague or extremely similar to other ailments, including gallbladder problems, bladder or urinary tract infection, Crohn's disease, gastritis, intestinal infection, and ovary problems. The following tests are usually used to make the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn My obe also insisted they do surgery, saying in pregnant patients if in doubt they should operate. Finally they did surgery and it was appendicitis! My obe apologised to me that I had to suffer so long. Fortunately my baby was ok. Now, your case may not be appendicitis, but the pain needs to be properly considered and closely monitored. Are you having fever? If so this is an alarm signal! Do follow up with your doctor and be persistent.
5835271 tn?1376003847 However for a few weeks now ive been getting this awful stomach pain, i went to the hospital and they did an xray of my stomach and my shunt was still in place so they dont believe its the shunt causing the pain however i cant see another reason for it, could this be my shunt? do shunt malfunctions cause stomach pain?
Avatar f tn , as it was a year ago, and lymph nodes in his abdomen were slightly enlarged. His abdomen was tender to pressure in one location yesterday. No evidence of tumors, IBC and diverticulitis were ruled out. Dr. stated it was probably a viral infection and he should have full relief within two weeks of the onset. "Slightly elevated" WBC in two concurrent blood tests a year apart struck me as particularly odd. He is on no medications, is 50 years old, and in general good health.
5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar m tn Hello~I am thinking it may be due to the appendix. Some folk have what is called "chronic appendicitis" this is where pain in felt in the area, but it does not get bad enough to warrant surgery. I would certainly discuss this with your physician to rule out any thing serious.
Avatar f tn If it is in place other causes of abdominal pain should be considered depending on the precise location of the pain. Reflux disease, appendicitis, PID, kidney stones, twisted ovarian cyst are few common causes of abdominal pain. For exact diagnosis and management a clinical examination and ultrasound abdomen is necessary. Do write to me again. Best luck and take care!
Avatar n tn Hi, for those that have already had and out break there is such a thing called prodorme symptoms where there is a tingling in the lower body as the virus is attempting to come to the surface. With a first time outbreak its is often at the place of contact but not alsways.

1305767 tn?1361192676 I've had a diagnosis of IBS for several years but never had much of a problem. Recently in the past 6-8 months however I've had a dramatic decrease in appetite and weight and the more I try to eat the more abdominal discomfort I get. I've also had a aching and cramping pain in the same location in my extreme lower right abdomen. It's some what tender to the touch from the outside but from the inside (my vagina) it's worse.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.
231441 tn?1333892766 I would get sick to my stomach from the pain and lost 30lbs in in less than 2 months when it got really bad with attacks almost every other day. What you are describing does not sound like gallbladder to me unless you only have a stone or two and they are really small. I would definitely get a second opinion before contemplating surgery.
Avatar f tn For 3 years I have been dealing with bouts of acute RLQ pain and went to ER countless times. I try to avoid it now despite how bad my symptoms get. I have been diagnosed with IBS, ovarian cysts and a "twisted gut" ( which is a bowel obstruction that self resolves. I just feel like the doctors are not taking me seriously...to the point that after the acute phase does subside I do wonder...is it in myour head?
