Avatar f tn So doctor in ER confirmed that my right quadrant stomach pain is due to the cysts. I have an appointment with my regular primary care doctor at the VA tomorrow for follow up from the ER visit. Any questions that you can advise me to ask my regular doctor tomorrow and do you think the doctor was right it isn’t my appendix.
Avatar n tn There are various causes of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, including but not limited to appendicitis, IBS/IBD, kidney/ureteral stone, bladder infection, and hernia, as well as female-specific conditions, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, ovarian torsion, and ectopic pregnancy. Making the correct diagnosis requires a combination of clinical history and physical examination, as well as laboratory and imaging tests.
Avatar m tn Abdominal pain) The pain may be minor at first, but it becomes more sharp and severe. Your appetite will be reduced and you may have nausea, vomiting, and a low fever. As the swelling in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen. It focuses right above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point. This most often occurs 12 to 24 hours after the illness starts.

Avatar f tn The pain had moved from his umbilicus to more in the right lower quadrant. Despite his claim that it was only 4/10 pain level, I told him to take a quick shower and then we were going to the ER. I called my surgeon to meet us there. He was a little stunned because he'd just taken my gallbladder out 6 weeks before. We first saw the ER doctor. I did not tell her what I thought it was; just said abdominal pain. She checked his white count and said it was too high to be appendicitis.

4770653 tn?1358955382 My 13 yr old daughter has an appendicolth on her appendix that they found on ultrasound last night at the ER. Shes been having abdominal pain on the lower right quadrant for the past 3 weeks with vomiting only in the mornings and as missed school because of this. Her peditrician said its not an appendicitis since the pain is gone now and all her blood tests have come back negative. I want to find out why shes vomiting and why shes having the lowe right pain.

Avatar f tn Lower right quadrant abdominal pain is also a sign of appendicitis. If you are laying on your back and press on the sore spot and you get a sharp pain when you press and it even hurts as you release pressure it could be appendicitis. Your pain may be unrelated to your pregnancy. Did they rule out appendicitis or even ovarian cyst or maybe even gas?
4734947 tn?1358531198 A couple of days after I still had pain tho it was more in the upper right quadrant. So I went to the ER. the first thing they had me do was an X-ray. They saw what they thought was a blockage in the upper right quadrant. They checked my pee and it came out came out completely normal. Then they took some blood and the only that was abnormal was my MCHC was a little low at 32.4. They were afraid I might have appendicitis so they gave me a C.T.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar n tn I also get pains on the other side in the same place. Along with the upper right quadrant under my rib cage i get intense pain for a few seconds. My legs will go numb somethings, but not a numb that i cant feel, almost in a painful way, that has happened since i was a little kid. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn My question is. I get pains in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. I have contact nausea and slight unsteadiness. I have had a CT of my head and a ECG of my heart to rule out anything extremely serious. At times the nausea gets soo bad i feel like i may faint. Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking.

Avatar n tn Did your doc ever do any tests to look at the state of your gallbladder? Upper right quadrant pain is often an indication of a gallbladder issue. You may want to ask about doing a GB ultrasound and HIDA scan with CCK injection if the pain truly is in the upper right quadrant. You should also get a blood test that measures your liver enzyme levels and you pancreatic enzyme levels. GB issues can also result in vomiting and diarrhea.
Avatar m tn There is no test to prove chronic appendicitis. Some of the symptoms are lower right quadrant pain, sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it dull, bloating mucus in stool, pain with or after intercourse, trapped gas or stool in the appendix area will double you over. WBC's will be somewhere from 9-11, not high enough to indicate an acute form of appendicitis but a chronic form of it.
Avatar f tn HI, Right lower quadrant pain can be due to ovarian cyst or appendicitis. The intermittent nature of the pain is typical of appendicitis. However it can also be found when the ovarian cyst undergoes torsion. The fever suggests the possibility of infection. Hence it would be best to see your Doctor again. Once a correct diagnosis is made the appropriate treatment can be initiated. The answer is based on information provided.
