Appendicitis pain in waves

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain in waves

appendicitis

Avatar n tn Does it spread to the side of your body to the back? Does this pain come in waves? Have you noticed that the pain tends to come on after eating? Any vomiting? Fever? Are your eyes yellowish? You may be suffering with right side abdominal pain caused by gallstones (called biliary colic) or inflammation of the gallbladder (called cholecystitis). Both can be referred to as gallbladder disease.
Avatar f tn It started above the belly button and radiated straight down. It came in waves, and lasted 4-5 hours. The only slight relief I had was laying on my right side, curled into the fetal position. The day before I had felt a bit constipated and during the evening my intestines were grumbling SO much. I had a brief moment of nausea, but it didn't last long. I ended up going to sleep right after this and it was about 3 hours later that I was woken up from the pain.
5670884 tn?1374749288 My sister had appendicitis when she was pregnant. If the pain doesn't go away after a while, look up the symptoms of appendicitis and see if that sounds possible, and if so go to the doc.
Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago, I randomly had a sharp pain in my right side, right where I had pain when I had appendicitis. It came in waves and lasted for about 2-4 hours. The pain was horrible and i tried not to move during the waves of pain. After the 2-4 hours passed, I was fine. A week later, I started noticing this dull ache on my right side where the pain was a week ago. Its not sharp pain or anything but it's a dull pain/ache.
9497408 tn?1404140019 I've been having this pain in my lower right abdomen for weeks, now, and it has slowly moved towards my upper right abdomen and on the side. I went to see a doctor, but he told me I was constipated and gave me meds. I've been taking the medication and now the constipation is gone, but the pain is still there, and getting worse. The pain is mostly on my right lower abdomen, and when I put pressure on it and release it, it get's worse.
Avatar n tn I'm 24 years old, have no children, and have one constant partner. I started having lower left quadrant pain about 5 years ago. At first it only came when I was up and about all day, at work waitressing etc. Since then it has grown to be more and more frequent. I'm at the point right now that I have been in near constant pain for about 4 weeks. It will usually subside in the morning, but around noon picks up again and progressively gets worse throughout the day, nights are the worst.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.

Avatar m tn I know you will say I need checked out and I agree in my brain, but the other part of my brain wants to know if these long pain free periods over the course of 3 or so months without a perforation are typical of appendicitis issues? So, in summary, I am curious about the long course of this and the pain free periods. Thank you.
Avatar f tn You have made an assumption as to what is causing the pain which is not possible without appropriate studies. Appendicitis isone of hundreds of things that can cause pain in the abdomen. The statement that your appendix feels like it getting bigger doesn't make sense. It is possible to have pain originating from the appendix without true appendicitis. An appendicolith can be sitting in the appendix and cause pain as the appendix attempts to expell it.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar f tn i am a 22 yr old girl, unmarried, i was having continuous pain for 2 days in my lower abdominal. today morning at 5 i had swear pain i went to the doc, they asked me for blood test, urine test n ultrasound, urine test showed some sign of appendix but ultra sound didnt, they sent me home n gave some pain killers! now i am developing the same pain again after about 20 hours, so i want to ask can it be appendicitis even if ultrasound doesnt show it?
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn I'm not really sure if I'm in the right place her but I'm becoming concerned. Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort.
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.
Avatar n tn Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down. What are the possible causes of this pain, and could it be linked to my other symptoms? p.s. i am fully aware that this is not a diagnosis, it is just to know wether or not i should get this checked by my GP. p.p.
Avatar m tn Im 17 years old about to be 18 in 3 months and I got off my period 6 days ago. I took plan B on the last day of my period which was december 25th and starting on the 29th i had soreness in what seems like right above the ovaries, a pain on each side of my abdomen. I also have this pulsating around my belly button and it will shoot down to the right side then give me back pain. I also have headaches and have gotten easily hot and overheated during the night.
10791691 tn?1412820023 Hi, I have been experiencing pain in my upper abdomen for the past few months. The doctors thought it was Appendicitis at first, because the pain was in the lower abdomen at first, and took me off food, scanned my abdomen, did everything they were supposed to do for Appendicitis, but they found nothing out of the ordinary. Fast forward to another month or so. The pain moved upwards, to my upper abdomen, and the doctors couldn't help me at all.

Avatar n tn Hi. Im 27weeks and having lots of pain in my side. Dr reckons it might be my appendix. Anyone have experience with having it taken out during pregnancy?.
Avatar f tn t really know what I was doing, but just gently pressed around and he moaned. The pain had moved from his umbilicus to more in the right lower quadrant. Despite his claim that it was only 4/10 pain level, I told him to take a quick shower and then we were going to the ER. I called my surgeon to meet us there. He was a little stunned because he'd just taken my gallbladder out 6 weeks before. We first saw the ER doctor. I did not tell her what I thought it was; just said abdominal pain.
