Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain goes

appendicitis

Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar f tn But if i had appendicitis wouldnt the pain get worse. My appendix pain comes and goes and sometimes the pain dsnt come for a week. I dont know if this is important or not but every mrning i feel like throwing up and i get headaches and it has been going on for a while now! Does my feeling of throwing up relate to my pain?? What do i do?
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
Avatar n tn There are various causes of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, including but not limited to appendicitis, IBS/IBD, kidney/ureteral stone, bladder infection, and hernia, as well as female-specific conditions, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, ovarian cyst, ovarian torsion, and ectopic pregnancy. Making the correct diagnosis requires a combination of clinical history and physical examination, as well as laboratory and imaging tests.
995502 tn?1249592251 Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I apologize for my tardy response I have been out due to both of my parents being very ill. I am sorry to hear about your long standing pain.I assume you surgery was not laparoscopic but rather a laparotomy which is more apt to cause adhesions. Please correct me if I am in error. Often scar tissues also called adhesions form following a surgical procedure. These can be very painful.
Avatar n tn I have a throbbing pain that comes and goes on my right side at the waistline. It just started about an hour ago but since it's quite sharp and I've never had it before, it's a little alarming. I'm thinking appendicitis, but I may be jumping to conclusions.
5154898 tn?1374773319 OK, I've been worried sick since about 4 days ago. It all started when i had a muscle spasm beside my belly button (right side), it lasted a whole day. I woke up the next day with a dull pain in the same spot, nothing really painful, just enough to worry me. Now, my lower front (right side), my right side and back on the right side has been aching.
Avatar n tn It has been four days, the aching has ceased a bit, the fever comes and goes. But what really has me worried is this unusual very intense pain in my lower back towards the right side extending to my hip and surrounding areas. Could it be kidney problems?
Avatar f tn I yelped out of pain. She said I might have appendicitis, and told us to go to the hospital to get a check up. We did, and they took blood tests and urine tests; It came out negative for appendicitis, but positive for UTI. The doctors gave me antibiotics for it, I took it religiously. Now, I still have this reoccurring pain on my stomach and abdomen area.
Avatar m tn They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period. Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. An ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen is definitely required. Hope this helps.
9497408 tn?1404140019 On the surface, your symptoms sound like appendicitis. Your elevated temp, the referred pain, all points to that. Sometimes ultrasounds do not reveal the true issue - they are not detailed enough. Personally, I experienced appendicitis much like you are experiencing. The "twist" was I had a cyst in my intestine as well. It took surgery to locate the problem(s). No test - and I had them all - revealed the truth. Go to the hospital. They are probably thinking you are drug-seeking.
Avatar n tn If you believe you are experiencing appendicitis pain, please call your doctor immediately. If s/he is not available, a visit to the ER. Vomiting with appendicitis is usually due to an emergency situation, so you don't want to wait until that happens. Be well.
Avatar m tn The pain comes and goes - it is sometimes quite bad, but AFTER eating it seems to be pretty much gone. The pain is NOT intensified by pressing the stomach area. The pain is hard to describe. It feels like cramp/bloated/trapped gas feeling. My stomach often makes rumbly/bubbly noises. My MAJOR concern is appendicitis - as I know how important it is to get the appendix taken out before it bursts.
Avatar n tn s my right side - nothing passes through there, right, or does it? It just ends in the appendicitis, the left side is the one that goes through. I've also had bad posture this week, I sit down in feutal position a lot because it makes me comfortable so maybe that's why my intestines are being weird or maybe it has something to do with the "blockage".
Avatar f tn For the last five days I have been having pains in my back, kidneys, right side, right side abdominal pain, pain near my belly button, pelvic pain, pain right next to my hip bone, headaches, and nausea. I'm still able to pass gas, and eat, walk and jump without pain, and when my stomach is pushed on there is no pain. I have been to the doctor multiple times for pains like these, I seem to get them each month.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar f tn Don't want to scare you but my sister had appendicitis, the pain started off as random sperts but suddenly got worse as the appendix started to split, she was rushed into hospital and they performed an emergancy opp. Some cases heal themselves, others don't like my sister's. I would ask another doctor; if they send you home again, just watch for ANY changes and monitor your temperature, urine colour and strength of pain over the next 2-3 days.

Avatar f tn thank you so much!
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn You need to get the CT done of your abdomen because it goes indepth showing the tissue of all your digestive system. If you had like a gallbadder or enlarged organ there. If there is anything wrong the CT scan will show that.
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar m tn How can you identify ovarian cyst pain? What is the usual size of the cyst need to undergo surgery? Describe the difference between appendicitis?
7489440 tn?1442008376 Saturday I woke up with the most horrific pain in my lower right side. At first Itthought it was needing to go to the bathroom. It subsided for a couple of hours. So I thought nothing of it. Went to bed, on Sunday the pain was back and spread to my whole abdominal area. I haven't ate much but feel full and bloated. I can't move because if I do it seems that I jar the pain. Any sudden movement such as couching or sneezing makes it 5 times worse.
Avatar m tn ve been having a dull pain on my right lower side of my abdomen, into my pelvis. I thought it was appendicitis, but it goes away and comes back. Not to sound gross, but Ive been very gassy and at points I can be constipated, to normal, to diarrhea. It feels like the pain is going away with each day too. I get nauseous at some times, but that goes away. I havent lost my appetite and when i touch my abs, there is no rebound pain. I can jump and move around and everything. What could it be?
