Appendicitis pain coming and going

Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain coming and going

appendicitis

Avatar f tn At first it stemmed from my neck, shoulders, and upper back. Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right. Recently I had diarrhea for three days straight and then feeling constipated.
Avatar m tn Is there any way I have chronic appendicitis that is coming and going? The pain is usually in the area of the appendix. Also as a side note, I had right side testicular pain that started up around the same time the abdominal pain started years back. Not sure if this is related as the pains seem to happen usually at different intervals.
Avatar f tn This trip has been planned for over a year. I am going of course, and I am excited, but I am so afraid my pain will get worse or something drastic will happen to me while I'm away from home. I keep telling my parents that but they say just wait and the doctor will reassure me that nothing is wrong. Has anyone had similar symptoms to this and could possibly give me any advice?
Avatar m tn About five months ago, I had lower right side pain that lasted a couple days, and after several tests (including CT), the doctor said all I had were swollen lymph nodes and after a series of antibiotics, I was fine (no appendicitis). Well, the pain is sort of back and it has been for a couple of days. The pain is not constant nor severe. It really is kind of a pressure-type pain for a couple of seconds and then dissipates.
Avatar f tn I have had kidney stones in the past, and am told that there are still stones inside, but this doesnt feel like the pain from the stones I passed before. I've been reading about appendicitis but I havent had any other symptoms of it(no nausea, no tenderness when pushing on the area, no pain anywhere else.) The hospital where I live is the worst hopital in North America so I really don't want to go unless its a real emergency.
Avatar m tn That will give them a better idea of what is going on. No one can know for sure what is going on, but that will give them a better idea.
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar n tn With you having back pain and pain down your leg, you may have a herniated disc. I have sciatica and that's what caused mine. I would see a gastroenterologist to verify that the bright red blood you see is indeed from hemorrhoids....I feel it is, but it will give you some peace of mind to find out for sure. There are several things this could be, and it's good that your are ruling them out one by one. I wouldn't worry about cancer. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn But if i had appendicitis wouldnt the pain get worse. My appendix pain comes and goes and sometimes the pain dsnt come for a week. I dont know if this is important or not but every mrning i feel like throwing up and i get headaches and it has been going on for a while now! Does my feeling of throwing up relate to my pain?? What do i do?
Avatar f tn I've had abdominal pain for the last week. Some days it calms itself and isn't so bad, other days, it's constant. It's an ache that surroungs my belly button and my whole right side, upper and lower. I feel a tingling sensation as well. I have noticed a dull ache under my upper ribs, on both sides. Like a sore ache, but that usually lasts only a few minutes. I've been to the doctor and w/out tests, he says it's gastrisis.
Avatar f tn .I have instant pain that can hit at anytime and last for 3 to 5 days with me in the bed its constant, sharp, thobbing and very painful between my hip bone and lilttle lower than belly button to the right. The 1st time it hit me I rushed to E.R.

Avatar f tn ve actually had this pain for years off and on. Some tests have showed cysts and recently collapsed cysts. When I wake in the morning my whole lower abdomin and stomach is achy and sore. There is also a bit of nausea. I was recently in Europe where the weather was extremely cold. I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. Or maybe the food adjusting? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar f tn he stated that his throat started to hurt him and then the nose bleed started. Today he is complaining of abdominal pain and refuses to eat. He also has a temp 101.6. When asked to pinpoint the exact location he points to his left lower abdominal quadrant. Could it be appendicitis?
Avatar f tn Appendicitis is not always easy to diagnose. Describe how the symptoms came on. When my ex got sick one day while I was at work, he called me. He described abdominal pain that sounded like it could be gas or early appendicitis. I told him to take Gas-Ex and lie down. When I got home, he still had the pain, even lying down. I pressed on his abdomen and he had more pain. Didn't really know what I was doing, but just gently pressed around and he moaned.
Avatar n tn Your bulemia has nothng to do with your appendix going bad, and it will worsen and have to be removed, which is not a big deal. It cannot heal itself. I hope I don't see a later posting of something that will be caused by your purging and binging, which will be much more serious. Not lecturing you, my daughter was anorexic, so I do understand.
681148 tn?1437661591 s coming from the colon either. What ever this pain was, I had two brief intense bouts of this pain, then as suddenly as the intense pain came it's gone. I'm already having a lot of trouble with sleeping, and now this. I'm afraid that it's going to start again as soon as I lie down to try to go back to sleep, too. This is really puzzling when I get these unexplained symptoms. Does this happen to anyone else?
Avatar n tn My 14 yr old daughter was seen in the ER 8 days ago and was diagnosed with a ruptured ovarian cyst. She was in alot of pain and the pain has gradually been going away until last night when she started complaining of severe pain again. The Gyn will not be in until Weds and she suggested I call back. Why would her pain be coming back?
Avatar m tn The typical presentation begins with periumbilical pain (pain around belly button) followed by anorexia (lack of appeitite) and nausea. The pain then usually localizes to the right lower quadrant as the inflammatory process progresses to involve the parietal peritoneum overlying the appendix. This classic pattern of migratory pain is the most reliable symptom of acute appendicitis.
Avatar m tn 4. Appendicitis goes with nausea, vomiting and raised leukocytes in the blood. Appendicitis is painfull at any time you press on area. Bouncing sign is present: lye down on the back and press deeply sopmewhere on your lower LEFT abdomen, then release the pressure quickly. In peritonitis or appendicitis you should feel a sharp pain on the LRQ area. Peritonitis would also show marked inflammation in the blood.
Avatar f tn So, not to scare you, but please get rechecked it could save you a lot of pain and prevent more serious consequence in the future.
Avatar f tn If you are laying on your back and press on the sore spot and you get a sharp pain when you press and it even hurts as you release pressure it could be appendicitis. Your pain may be unrelated to your pregnancy. Did they rule out appendicitis or even ovarian cyst or maybe even gas?
Avatar f tn Before i went to bed last night i had a real bad pain in the centre of my stomach i didn't think much of it but when i woke up this morning the pain had moved lower and to the right of my stomach, i haven't been able to (or even wanted to) eat and the pain is making me be sick. one of my flat mate took my temperature and said it was 38.0°C (100.4°F), which she said was a little high. any clues whats wrong and what i should do about it?
Avatar m tn 6 days ago I got a fever and felt like I had the flu or a bad cold. The following day it got worse and I also had mild stomach aches. I saw my GP who said to rest as it was probably a viral inflection. Since then the abdominal pain has got worse, but the flu symptoms have gone away. I had diarrhoea on one day but my bowel movements seem to be back to normal now, although it does feel hard to pass gas and I do need to strain to pass a bowel movement.
Avatar f tn I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere. If anyone can it would be appreciated.
