Common Questions and Answers about Appendicitis pain area

appendicitis

Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar f tn I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere. If anyone can it would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn the pain now is middle of my stomach and alittle sharper pain two inch to the left of my right hip bone do i need to be worried about appendicitis at this point, i'm freaking out and doubting the PA i saw before
Avatar f tn Soon after I started to feel pain in my chest, both sides right by my armpits, lower back, and abdomen area especially on my right side. The pain is usually sharp. When I do sit for a long period of time, both my right and left sides hurt but more on my right. Recently I had diarrhea for three days straight and then feeling constipated. I would sit in the bathroom for an hour or two straining to push the stool out but nothing comes out. Before that, my bowel movement was fine.
Avatar m tn Chills Constipation Diarrhea Fever Nausea Shaking Vomiting Signs and tests If you have appendicitis, your pain will increase when the doctor gently presses on your lower right belly area. If you have peritonitis, touching the belly area may cause a spasm of the muscles. A rectal exam may find tenderness on the right side of your rectum.
Avatar n tn You're very young for this to be cancer. Have they checked you for appendicitis? It causes pain to go down your leg, and pain between your ovary area and navel. I have never heard of anyone having sciatica pain with colon cancer, I think this was more of a coincidence with the lady you speak of. A blood test would tell your doctor if this is appendicitis. I have seen cases where it lasts quite awhile before becoming really inflammed.
Avatar m tn You can get IBS pain anywhere in the abdomen, and the left side where the descending colon is, is typically the most common area of pain. I have had the pain in the area you are talking about. Two things can be going on that are more likely, if the doctor is sure it's not the appendix. One thing is that it could be the gallbladder. This doesn't mean you need to have surgery, though. Not all gallbladder issues are related to gall stones.
Avatar m tn I had the same thing and it turned out that I am in the one in two million people with thoracic hernations pressing on the nerves that innervate the right abdominal area! It causes the same pain as appendicitis etc. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I have no fever or anything like that, nor am I having the typical rebound pain or any pain in my right lower stomach. It seems that the pain moves when I change position if that makes sense. Usually when I sit it moves in the lower area of my belly button, and when I lay down it moves to the upper area of my belly button. My stomach is constantly making gurgling noises and it feels like there are gas bubbles inside of me. I am really, really scared that something serious is going on with me.
Avatar f tn The pain first started at my appendix area. I had all the symptoms of appendicitis. I went to emergency and they ruled out appendicitis. I had Constipation, gastroenteritis and IBS. Now, the gastroenteritis is gone, but the rest isn't. I still have the same symptoms from the beginning. My appendix area feels bloated. It now hurts so bad, I have difficulty and pain standing, walking or even sitting. When pressed on the appendix area, it still feels pain.
Avatar m tn He felt around for my hernia, took note of my symptoms, and said that my hernia was basically healed and that he thought that I could have appendicitis. This came as a surprise. He said that if the pain got any worse within the next day or two, or if the pain didn't go away at all, then we should go into the ER. The pain got slightly worse and a lot more frequent within the next 2 days so we decided not to risk it and go into the ER.
Avatar f tn Pain in the lower right area may be from inflamed glands, appendicitis, renal colic or muscular problem. Have to lifted or moved anything heavy before this pain came on? As you are also feeling unwell, I suggest you make an appointment to see your doctor to get the correct diagnosis. Take a morning urine sample with you. You could use a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel to stop skin burn and place this on the painful side and take pain relief as directed on the packet.
Avatar f tn I'm 35 weeks pregnant and sometimes I get a sharp pain inside my vagina when I'm walking. Any ideas what it is? Do you think it's my cervix dilating?
Avatar n tn I have had my gallbladder removed lapo 2 weeks ago… I’m NOW expercing this sharp pain on my right lower abdominal area by my belly button, what are my chances of having appendicitis after gall bladder surgery? I want to avoid the ER, doctors and GI’s I went through so many test and so many trips to the ER during the period of 3 months to finally find out my gall bladder was only functioning at 1.
Avatar f tn Three days ago, I saw a doctor for pains I was experiencing in my lower right abdomen. He took a pee-test, and the results showed that I had a few infectious cells. He told me that I was probably at the end of a stomach virus, but should be getting better. He told me that if the pain persisted, within two days, I should return to the clinic or to the ER, on account of it could be appendicitis. I am eighteen years old, broke, and under the care of my parents who refuse to return me to any doctor.
Avatar f tn s where my appendix is located didnt have pain near my belly button tho. So currently not having major pain just slight discomfort in that area I was thinking could this be from the rough night I had due to drinking or so I go and check it out was kind of worried when I saw that it could be something pretty dangerous left untreated but I was also thinking if it was appendicitis I would probably be feeling alot more pain.
Avatar f tn thank you so much!
Avatar m tn Is there any way I have chronic appendicitis that is coming and going? The pain is usually in the area of the appendix. Also as a side note, I had right side testicular pain that started up around the same time the abdominal pain started years back. Not sure if this is related as the pains seem to happen usually at different intervals.
Avatar n tn See your OB-GYN and a Gastroenterologist. With appendicitis the pain normally starts around your navel and will move to the right and down, or vise versa so I don't feel it's that. But you do have intestines in that area, your bladder, and these are worth checking out. It may also be referred pain from your ovaries or fallopian tubes. Good luck with this and take care.

Avatar f tn Apply some warm compresses on that area and give some over the counter anti inflammatory analgesic(pain reliever) like ibuprofen(motrin) or diclofenac.Ask your son to abstain from overuse of the muscles and do some tretching exercises before. If there is no relief from the symptoms after analgesics, then the other causes of such psin like inguinal hernia, appendicitis, bowel disease etc have to be investigated. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted on how your son is doing.
Avatar f tn I yelped out of pain. She said I might have appendicitis, and told us to go to the hospital to get a check up. We did, and they took blood tests and urine tests; It came out negative for appendicitis, but positive for UTI. The doctors gave me antibiotics for it, I took it religiously. Now, I still have this reoccurring pain on my stomach and abdomen area.
Avatar m tn m a 19 year male college student, and I have had this problem for several years. At random moments, usually pretty rarely, I will get a sudden, sharp pain in the lower right area of my abdomen. It will cause me to panic for the brief second that it lasts (i'll clutch it etc..), because it feels really severe. It always goes away though, and since it's been a problem I've had for a long time, I don't really think it's a big issue.
552053 tn?1273331741 s blocked, but sometimes that blockage can be released so then you get the pain relief. Most of the time, however, chronic appendicitis will, at some point, become accute appendicitis and will require surgery. I would ask your doctor to check you for appendicitis- have an ultrasound, blood work, x-rays, whatever is needed to rule this out - the last thing you want is to end up having to have emergency surgery and/or your appendix bursting. Best of luck!
