How long can i use antihistamine for my daughter aged 7 months to relieve her of the eczema itching.
not life or death type allergies, but sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, headaches. I take a one a day antihistamine to deal with it. .. but it says on the box not to take if pregnant. Im only 7 weeks, and have stopped taking them... but my allergies are horrible at the moment. All the sneezing is not helping with my morning sickness. During my last pregancey my symptoms actually went away but not this time... my question is can i take my antihistamine?

Do not mix antihistamines though such as an oral antihistamine and spray. Ocean Spray does not have an antihistamine and will simply dry you out and is safe to use with an antihistamine.

Your side effects are pretty normal with treatment.Not so sure about the Electric shock,but the BM's during treatment are normal and the redness at the injection site is normal.I had 12wks treatment and all 12 injections were still there on my 12th week.I rotated all over my stomach to give the shots.
What medications are you on for treatment? There are a lot of people on this forum that can answer your Q's.I just reach SVR 27weeks at end of tx.
No weight gain, tired but I take a strong antihistamine daily (side effect is fatigue) so before the antihistamine I was less tired. The doctor examined my thyroid and I don't have any lumps or abnormaliites. I had a CT scan of the throat about 6 months ago and that was normal. I don't know if the CT went as far as the thyroid but I think so. I am getting retested in 4 months. I did have a viral infection when I had my blood drawn and was thinking it could be that.

My belly button itches when/after i work out, I'm sure it's to do with the sweet irritating the skin

thanks for the reply, yes i googled that before messaging and the only one it shows is Seldane, because of the problem with this antihistamine and that it had been taking off the market (not a newer antihistamine), i wanted to know of any other antihistamines?
are there no others for enlarged prostate sufferers?
2nd question is after stopping the intake of antihistamine that effect the prostate, woiuld these be a short term effect and the prostate goes back to how it was?
My GP will not prescribe an antihistamine for him as he is under 1yr, is there anything with similar effects to an antihistamine that he can use?
You need Benadryl or an antihistamine to reduce the allergic reaction. The chapsticks won't do much. You should feel noticeably better taking the antihistamine.

i think it is an allergy.i was prescribed cetgel one tablet a day as an antihistamine and flupred eyedrops one drop twice a day for one day only.my face still looks out of a horror film with the swelling and the irritation/itching continuing unabated.how many days will this last and what is the best treatment for the swelling and the irritation to subside?

For such hives, first of all the medication needs to be changed to some other drug. Then the primary treatment is by oral antihistamines. The most potent antihistamine, however, is probably the anti-depressant doxepin. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. Your mother should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing.
An antihistamine like cetizine 1 at bedtime for a week would be of great help.It may cause some sedation.External application of calamine is fine.
Take an over-the-counter antihistamine.
Sometimes the insects carry bacterial infections so I would feel better if you had it looked at by an in-person M.D.
