Avatar f tn Since you have reactions to so many medications, it may be that you are allergic to certain food colorings or excipients that are used in formulating the medications. My boss, a doctor, cannot use any products (like soft drinks, vitamins, prescribed meds) that contain one of the common dyes, or he is at risk for anaphylatic shock.
Avatar f tn Hydroxyzine or "Atarax" is a antihistamine, and it seems like thats the first thing that doctors like to try a person out on. It doesnt work that good for Extreme anxiety, but have "heard" that it works alright..."not great" for mild anxiety. Its allot safer then Benzos "Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan" and non addicting. Hiope it works for you.

Avatar f tn They had given me a steroid shot and steroid pills to continue taking for about 8-10 days. Along with a antihistamine. They worked and rash was cleared up. The same rash appeared about 2 weeks later again i went to the doctor and they did the same routine (steroid and antihistamine). Cleared up again. Now 2 weeks later the same rash is back but not as severe. This time there is redness in my face as well.

612551 tn?1450022175 Over the past month he was on prescription medications including Otomax (ears), Ketoconazole 50 mg, and Temiril-P, all in tablet form and Cephalexin, a capsule. The Temiril (at more than $1 per pill) provided the medications in the subject line, less the Benadryl. Clearly one or more of the above cleared up the paw licking problem - and maybe the itch problem in general, but I also will guess the combination of meds teamed to accomplish the improvement.
Avatar n tn You should try the calamine lotion and antihistamine medications. Nothing can be said about whether the lesion is infective or not without a clinical examination. You could take some oral antihistamine medications for the itching. If your symptoms persist even after a few days it would be best to consult a skin specialist and rule out any other cause including a bacterial and fungal infection as the cause of your symptoms. Let us know about how you are doing and what your doctor advises.
